The first night I went there, the garlic pan fried noodles were amazing. The second night, they were almost tasteless. It’s nice to have a place downtown where I can get something Vegan, but I prefer New Style Asian Food for delivery.

First thought that comes to mind DISGUSTING!!! HARD rice at 12:30pm it was obviously from days before and left out. IT was sooooooo BAD. I put it in my mouth and spit it right back out. You could see the rice looked old and hard. The chicken fingers looked like they had been cooked before and re-dipped in the oil they were very dark in color and full of grease. Egg roll was hard as a rock. I called the owner to complain because it was completely un-edible. He acted surprised that I called him to complain. He knew damn well that food was old. I didn’t even bother going to get my money back. I just know NEVER, EVERAGAIN!

Good meal tonight from this local, well known eatery. Had not ordered from Dragon Inn for quite a while. Reason: last time it appeared to be under new ownership & our order was a disaster! And no they did not offer to correct their errors. Fast forward to tonight’s meal. Good sized portions(though not like the good old days), for the combo plate chosen. Fried rice is plentiful but still bland and the duck sauce is overly watered down. Sweet and Sour chicken(6 good sized pieces) were cooked perfectly. Very little sweet and sour sauce was placed under the chicken pcs. None was on top of the chicken. Next time I’ll ask for it on the side. The boneless spare ribs were a bit too chewy to be enjoyable.(Four small strips) If you want«Americanized» Chinese food and would like it quick, no frills, order from here. Overall taste of food could be improved. Not sure what type of cooking oil is used but it has a different flavor that should be checked or needs to be changed more often. Very noticeable in the Peking raviolis and was detected in fried rice as well. ***Able to order online now which is a BIGPLUS!*** Quick delivery. Will try their food again. And yes, you do get a wrapped fortune cookie! :) Give Dragon Inn a try. Maybe they will consider returning to the way it used to be… BIG portions and tastier food.

Do not eat here unless you want hard rice and uncooked chicken. Stick with what you know when it comes to Chinese, not everyone can do it.

Much like any other Chinese food in Massachusetts is this place falls very short of decent.

So under the new owners, or whatever happened, in the course of a year the restaurant I ordered from every friday as a middle schooler has gone from big portions, great great food to a mickey mouse, cheap knock-off of its previous set up.

I had a bad feeling about this place the moment we walked in… it was empty and it looked like shit but my gf convinced me that we should try it bc someone had told her it was pretty good. I don’t live in Lynn, she does, so I said ok… It was possibly one of the worst chinese food places i’ve eaten at… I got the beef teriyaki and chicken finger special that came with an appetizer and a fried rice or white rice. The pork fried rice looked like it had been refried like 10 times. It was sticky and extra dark and had a bad taste. I couldn’t even eat it. I only ate the beef teriyaki and the appetizer of which I chose the fried shrimp. None of it was even decent but after we spent $ 23 on food… I had to eat some of it. My gf had the general gaos chickern and could barely eat any of it and ended up getting a somach ache for hours. I have only taken the time to write this because I was so pissed for spending that amount on money on complete shit. I seriously walked out of there still hungry… If you are considering this place… don’t waste your money or risk your health…

Just about everything from this place is good and what I hate is that the sesame chicken is never prepared the same all the times I order it.

Have been ordering delivery & p/u from this restaurant since moving to Lynn 8yrs ago. Now I am so frustrated with, to start-the lack of concern or response when I try to talk with them about my disappointment in the food or order, the increase in price, decrease in amount of food and the severe decrease in quality and taste! I’ve tried speaking with the staff, usually the girls at the desk, several times since my order gets screwed up everytime. Either they forget the ginger sauce for the peiking raviolis or the white rice for the General Gao chicken. I understand if you have to raise prices, but how do you shrink portions at the same time and same owners, but good quality has gone in the dumps!!! I told them I was done! Need a new quality place to order our Chinese from…

When going to that other Central Square MBTA stop, this is a really cheap place to get lunch. My fried rice was a bit mushy, but good enough for the price. And there’s lots of seating.

Dragon Inn is a true staple of Lynn dining, and by far my favorite place to get Chinese food whenever I’m home. You’ll hear most locals putting down Dragon Inn for it’s terribly greasy and MSG-filled food, but for a Chinese place that has french fries on the menu, they certainly have the best crab rangoon around. I’m not exactly a connoisseur of the place so I can’t judge everything on the menu, but I can say that the rice is extremely decent, as is the lobster sauce, and those french fries are pretty damn good. PLUS: the added bonuses of the always extremely friendly girls working at the front-counter(one of them even recognized my voice when I was ordering take-out over the phone and asked me how I was doing!), and the fact that the building it’s in used to be a Papa Gino’s back in the day and the tables and décor still remain. The bathroom doors even say«Mama» and«Papa» on them. A: for janky Chinese food that will never let you down when you’re hungover, or in the process of getting there

So for whatever reason, I was in Central Square, Lynn at about 930 at night. I don’t know why to be honest. But anywho, I was looking for some grub, and it was between this place or Pizza Hut. So I figured, why not. And I was happy I picked here! For one, they had a very attractive counter girl(she was Hispanic! I’d never seen someone who wasn’t Asian work at a Chinese restaurant!) I ordered some fried rice. They had it done in 3 minutes, which gave me plenty of time to go grab my commuter rail train back to Boston. They seemed to be getting lots of order outs, but the restaurant was empty. Four stars for giving me my rice fix on a damp, rainy, summer night in a deserted Central Square.

Day after day my wife and I would pass by The Dragon(as we called it) until we decided to stop on our last night in Lynn(had a move the next day). It all seemed so fortuitous — we kept saying we needed to grab an informal meal there at somepoint since it was walking distance to our place… and on this last night there were Dragon Inn menus strewn about in our building lobby. A sure sign! The staff was friendly and we called in our order(20 minutes for 2 dinner combos + appetizers), picked up our food and our first thought: holy cow, this bag weighs A LOT. Excitement and intimidation weighed in the air. My wife and I can throw down when it comes to food, but a half our later we admitted defeat. As we packed all night to move, I snacked some more. I’d call the quality very average(hard to really mess up Chinese takeout) until my wife began to complain of indigestion and stomach discomfort. The next morning I felt what I can only liken to a hangover and had to ask for her help to move some boxes in between her throwing up. Yeah, it didn’t bode well for the day. We still made the move successfully, but to quote my wife: «Dragon Inn… everyone goes once but not everyone will go twice.» Hey, every place can have its off night but this was our experience. 2 stars for very average food, large quantities for the price, and while they seem to be fairly busy eveyrday, we won’t be back.
