I love this bakery! I live in Peabody, and have a really good bakery near me, but D’Amici’s is better! The have the best ricotta cake I have ever had, and probably the best Italian butter cookies as well. I have tried other pastries and cakes and have not been disappointed. Every time I go in I end up getting a few of their animal cupcakes for kids in my life because they are so cute! I never have the intention of getting them, but always feel the need to when I see them!

A good variety of tasty sweets and delicacies. Pricing is average in comparison to other bakeries. I’ve order special occasion cakes from here twice now and I’ve been happy with the result both times. The cake looked and tasted good. I do recommend going into the bakery to consult and/or place your order rather than submitting a request online or ordering over the phone. The price for specialty cakes is a little more than I expected, judging from other experiences with other bakeries I’ve used. Most of the girls who work here are upbeat abd ready to help, although you get the occasional one who is dragging her feet and acts and presents herself as if she would rather be elsewhere. This has made me very uncomfortable at my most recent visit as I went in to order a few different things and ended up leaving with the first thing I ordered because I was clearly a bit inconvenience to her. .parking is scarce

Best cappuccino in the area. Breakfast is really good and I love the fruit tart. This place is full of temptations. Ordered a strawberry and cream cake the other day. Whoever wrote the happy birthday on the cake did a horrible job. But the cake was delicious so I dont care…

I live around the corner and usually use a different bakery for my special occasion cakes because I love the filling but for my daughters second birthday, we went here. The design on the cake was flawless, the writing gorgeous. The interior? Delicious!!! Moist and not overwhelmingly sweet. My only complaint. A cake that feeds 20 – 25 people was $ 95. A bit high but the quality was worth it!

Always a pleasant experience. I go in frequently as they always have a great selection. I also have placed many orders for specialty cakes, always fulfilled wonderfully.

We had our wedding cake done by damicis this past weekend, and it was both beautiful and delicious. We got so many compliments. The bottom layer was vanilla with strawberry mousse, and the top was red velvet. It was perfect. We have also gotten many family birthday cakes from damicis in the past and love the strawberries and cream cake. I agree that it can get crowded in there, which is generally an indication of how yummy the baked goods are!

Wouldn’t bother with this place if it wasn’t 3 minutes from my house. Customer Service is awful. They seem annoyed that you are there ordering food. There are signs on the counter basically announcing that they are going to be slow. As if that excuses taking ½ hour to make a grilled cheese. Go to Fusion across the street instead

Never ordered a cake here but everything I’ve ever gotten has been great. It has even become a tradition that when I go to visit out of state friends I stop here first to get treats. The staff does lack a certain professional look but they are nice and helpful. They even looked up a Spanish saying for a cake I asked them to write on.

7÷16÷15 Been to D’amici’s many times for bread, sandwich or pizza. Today, made a special trip for the Rustico Italiano $ 7.99 Thinly-sliced Mortadella, Capicolla, Genoa Salami, Provolone, Roasted Red Peppers, Olive Oil, Onions, Hot Pepper Relish prepared on a hard roll… this is as good as it gets… overloaded, freshly sliced… simply terrific

Love the pastry and the coffee. Just ordered lunch there today! The wraps and sandwich choices look great. My wrap had chicken on it and it was a little dry. My co worker got the chic parm and it looked delicious!

I just love this bakery! The baked goods are delicious, its hard to go in a just buy one item. They have a big selection of fresh Italian pastries and other baked goods. This past Christmas I ordered a tray of baked stuffed shells and they were awesome. I’m never disappointed!

I am soooo annoyed. I wish I would have read the reviews here before trying to order a cake from this place. I went to the D’amici’s website and filled out/submitted a cake order request form for a birthday cake for my husband 5 days in advance. I received a bounce-back email saying someone would contact me to confirm within 48 hours. When no one contacted me I called the Eastern Ave store 2 days later. I was placed on hold multiple times and each time someone would pick up the call«Hello, D’amici’s» and I would have to explain who I was and what I wanted all over again. Finally someone picked up and told me the online orders go to their downtown Lynn store, took my complete cake order over again and told me someone would email me a confirmation. Well no one ever contacted me. Today, on the day of my husband’s birthday, I called the Eastern Ave store again to ask if anyone was making my cake and to give them another chance to get it right. The woman again took my complete order all over again and at this point I said I didn’t really care what the cake looked like as long as it said happy birthday on it. She made me pay in advance over the phone and asked if I could pick up the cake at the downtown Lynn location at 3pm. Ok fine. So I give them a little extra time and show up at 4 and give them my name. I tell them I spoke to the Eastern Ave store and they said my cake would be here waiting. Then I stand around for 20 min while all the different employees come out of the back room and ask me, «What was your name? What kind of cake was it?» before disappearing into the back again over and over. They can’t find it. And I have PREPAID it. I am visibly mad although I maintain a calm demeanor. Having worked in customer service, I know that anyone with half a brain would offer the customer a cup of coffee or something while waiting and apologize but noooo. Finally someone tells me my cake is in the back and it will be right out. But it’s still another 5 min waiting, which tells me they either do not give a flying F about this super annoyed customer waiting around OR they were scurrying to make my cake because they forgot my order. Finally the cake comes out and there are no apologies, just a «Oh, it was in the wrong fridge. You’re all set.» Yeah, I will never be back. Hey D’amici’s, your customer service sucks! Don’t have a website and online ordering if you cannot handle it. Teach your staff about «customer recovery» IF you even care. Get it together. You are not the only bakery around.

I had a great experience today. I thought i’d treat myself to a cool dessert and I got the mousse torte and a elephant frosted cupcake! They were wonderful! The employees were awesome at helping me, they told me what they liked the best and what was popular. They let me take my time as well(which is needed with so many choices!) All in all, I really liked D’Amici’s and I would definitely recommend bringing a friend and tasting a ton of their desserts! So yummy! :)

It has been nearly a decade since D’Amici messed up my order and then was openly disrespectful towards me, because I had the gall to bring it to their attention! That order was a birthday cake for my daughter. I wanted to do something special and made an effort to go to the former Love’n Oven bakery. Placing the order was an ordeal. I worked with them for a long time to get the order right, patiently checking and correcting over and over; which cake, icing, name, Happy Birthday and the date for pick-up; over and over… and of course that it had to be pre-paid. They were very clear on that, cash up front! Full payment or they could not risk making the cake — a standard in their case — the one in front. I made such an issue of the paid in full before they would take the order, I insisted that they mark my receipt as well. That they messed it up seems to be standard for them. It was the last time I got to see my daughter on her birthday. Every time I see or hear of D’Amici’s… I think of how the incompetence and arrogance of the owner made an unfortunate situation totally disgusting! That they were so arrogant is strange. I was polite and patient — seeking to support a small business. And they could not offer an apology or even an excuse. Their last words were, you can’t have a refund… I did not ask for one…

This building is about a 3.5 minute drive from my house. It is the only bakery around, and this winter I have tried a lot of their pastries(at the demise of my waistline). I have never tried their prepared food. I did once a couple of years ago try an Italian or French bread, but I liked Market Baskets better, so I didn’t try the bread again. If there was another close bakery, I would try them in hopes that they would be better than D’Amici’s, fresher, but when the craving hits, it is just so close not to go… The kids that work out frond are friendly and accommodating. They accept tips if you pay cash. They cannot receive tips with a credit card payment. In my opinion, their cookies are better than their single serve cakes. I have tried a few of them and liked them all. This week I was trying to find a cake for my birthday dinner so we bought a tasting of single serve cakes. Their rum cake was really unpleasant. The tiramisu was not authentic, but still tasty(it would have been the one I chose, but I decided to go with another bakery), and their chocolate cake with chocolate frosting was so rich that I could not eat it, but my husband liked it. A little goes a long way. There is also this brownie on a stick which has a chocolate covering with mini M&Ms – that’s my favorite thing in the store. It is very moist. Their chocolate mousse tazza always tastes off. A little old, and something else is just off with the mouse, like an additive, and the chocolate is not tasty. It is very pretty though. I think that’s why I keep trying it. Honestly, it’s not good, but it LOOKS so good. I have bought that thing like three times over the years. Probably won’t know that I have a preference for the brownie, though. Their prices aren’t cheap either, but I am usually only buying one or two things, so it’s not too bad. One item is around $ 3. Side note: I bet kids would really like the experience of choosing through the case of desserts. I would say try it for yourself because I am very picky. I still go here and try new things because it’s not that bad: sugar is sugar is sugar. There is another bakery that I am about to write a review on that was awesome, but I will probably never go there because it’s in Peabody and I am in Lynn. Not conducive to my cravings on a whim. Enjoy!

Had a piece of cake at the store in Melrose about a year ago, it was three layer chocolate cake, with strawberry sauce filling, chocolate frosting and chocolate covered strawberries on top… I tried to pre order a cake from the store in Melrose they said they could not do it two days in advance I call it a store because, what bakery couldn’t make a cake with two days advance notice… Yeah, never again. My girlfriend tried to get this cake for me, what I ended up with was a vanilla rum cake… White frosting… NUTS on the side of it… I mean really, how far away from chocolate could you get? Everybody hated it. A waste of $ 40. Ended up getting the chocolate cake at Market Basket… I tried to pre order a cake from the store in Melrose on a separate occasion. they said they could not do it two days in advance, and I call it a store because, what bakery couldn’t make a cake with two days advance notice… Yeah, never again.

Have driven past here several times, and this time we finally stopped for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Warmly greeted when we walked in the door and drooled past the long pastry counter — headed to the far end of the counter to order sandwiches. It’s a big menu, and without my glasses it was a little hard to seee. Good thing there are to-go menus on the counter. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and a meatball sub. The turnaround time after we ordered was really quick. The meatball was really good, but the Cuban wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. While it tasted really good, other Cuban sandwiches i’ve had in the past were pressed and really hot. The meat was warm, but otherwise it was a cold sandwich. Good, but not what I expected a Cuban sandwich to be. I own that one, as I should have asked for it pressed. We split a peanut butter cookie for dessert, and it was really good. They also have an extensive catering menu. We will definitely be back!
