we didn’t eat here, but stopped in to visit a friend who was working. We had a little miscommunication on the cover charge, and the girl at door didn’t speak one word of English which made things a little difficult. It was $ 15.00 which is the only thing she could say, but we showed the owner an ad that said free before 10, which was still if you were on a list which we weren’t, but he let us come in as an exception. There was a 10+ piece salsa band which I am sure was going to be awesome but we didn’t stay too long. I would def. go back for people watching and to just check out the dancing. The crowd was older, but they were having such a great time on the dance floor it was just fun to watch them. I told my parents to come here, I am sure they will like it. This night in particular was a salsa night and a group of salsa dancers met there, not sure what it would be like on any other night. The place is big and there is plenty of seating, a HUGE bar and an outdoor area for smokers. Definitely a nice layout and would be a good spot if you wanted to try something different(if salsa dancing isn’t normally your«thing’). People were dressed up which I also appreciated, no one dresses up anymore I feel like… so for a change of pace and if you feel like getting dressed up check it out.

Visited Riva Blue one time and one time is enough. The staff is very clueless and lacks attentiveness. I would wait 20 to 30 minutes for a refill of my Gin and Tonic, how long can that possibly take especially when it wasnt very busy to begin with? And the food was below par. When you read the descriptions, it sounds fantastic but the execution is lacking. Waitress never asked how our food was, if we needed anything. Seemed like she just couldnt wait to leave. Seems like they need better management there, someone to really take control and lead. I felt like everyone just spaced out and did their own thing with no concern for customers. I see no reason to return and would not recommend it to anyone I know.

After hearing multiple recommendations for this place based on the affiliated deli, I had high hopes. I went with a group of 4 and could not have been more disgusted with the entire place from service to food. Our waitress was clueless. After ordering very simple cocktails, gin and tonic and ketel on the rocks, she was puzzled and had to ask us to explain our order again. She clarified that she’s not a drinker so doesn’t know anything about alcohol.(If you’re going to waitress at a restaurant with a full bar, I think it’s time to learn the basics.) Food was absolutely horrible. Appetizers came out of the frozen food aisle. Entrees lacked flavor and originality. Only thing worth eating was the pot cheese. We were comped dessert because of some mishaps along the way but wished we had just passed and got out of the place. Cold lava cake and boring vanilla ice cream. Save your time and money and go to one of the many other italian spots in the area.

This was not the experience we set out for when we chose Riva Blue for our dinner. The experience was less than premium as were the continued opportunities with our meal. The Mac and cheese bites were from the frozen section and cold when they arrived at our table. I ordered braised short ribs and the waitress asked for the temp. I was lost but thought she was joking until she asked again. I was banking on desert but I ordered coffee and it never came. The bomba was okay at best. The amount of managers in the building would have been great if they were managing and not socializing. I understand new but that’s why your there. Too support your staff. This place has to reevaluate their plan for customer service and watch what’s coming from the kitchen. Very upsetting since we went there for the chef.

This has been the worst experience ever… Everything that could go wrong in that place… went wrong! I was there with my son to check out the spot. We arrived, nobody greeted us there. There was just a bunch of managers, hostesses staring at us. When I said we had no reservations, one of them, instead of walking us to the table, pointed at a table that we just walked to by ourselves and sat. Long story short. it took about 15 min to order drinks… then another 20 to get them. Drinks came separately…10 min apart. and I got something that I did not order. Same thing with getting food. My son asked for honey mustard… got some spicy horseradish kind that almost made him choke(my son is 7)…Later he said«it was a monster!» lol After we ate dinner, the owner came to see how we liked it… and I said that unfortunately I have a list of complains and that I thought he might want to consider if he wants to stay in business. The guy told me to write them down and just walked away… local celebrity.haha.wow! The bottom line, the whole experience at Riva Blue was so horrible that I still think it was really a joke. No, I would not recommend that place to anyone… but you might want to go see it to believe how much it sucks!

This was unfortunately the most disappointing experience. We went there for the chef and ended up wondering who was in the kitchen. There were a lot of managers but no one running the kitchen. How do you have frozen lava cake?! Maybe the volcano didn’t erupt yet?! The worst part was that there was zero lava and frost on the cake. The deserts were going to be the saving grace to an all together sub par meal but it just didn’t happen. Hey… did you get your coffee???
