Once Upon a Curl

Took my son to get his first haircut and it was a great experience. Called on a Tuesday, made an appointment for that Saturday in the morning.
Because of traffic, we were running late and called to let them know. The receptionist was chill and told us not to worry. Once we got there, we checked in and had a short wait. My husband ran to get coffee and the stylist waited until my husband got back to start (it was his first haircut – we made it a big deal)
Little man sat in his chair (like a boss) and the hair stylist (i cannot remember her name!!) was amazing. She was thorough, patient and stealth. She molded her hands and scissors around his head and like the matrix all while taking great care of having a sharp tool near his wiggly body.
The store is extremely kid friendly and clean– fun seats, music, kiddie tv on demand and a patient staff.
Little man got a first haircut certificate along with a lock of his hair. They were so good with us and we will definitely go back!

A couple of weeks ago, we took our 17-​month-​old son for his first haircut. We called the morning of and Abi was able to schedule us for the same day! Our little one wouldn’t sit still in the airplane chair, so Abi suggested that I seat him on my lap while he watched the DVD and played with toys from the treasure box. When it was time to cut the back, Abi made a balloon for our little one to play with while she completed the cut with children’s chocolate pomade. The cut turned out amazing and he smelled scrumptious! Abi also gave our little one a first haircut certificate and a lock of his hair as a keepsake. Thank you for making this such a wonderful experience, Abi!

We had taken my 20 month old son to a barber about 4 months ago to cut his hair and he cut his ear! Any time we would even get close to another barber shop after that he would start crying.
Today we went to Once Upon a Curl. They were nothing short of amazing with him! I explained what happened at his last hair cut and they were horrified and understanding. They worked quickly and got the job done. He cried the entire time but they were so patient with him and kept trying to comfort him. Without a doubt we will be back!

I found this place through Unilocal and was amazed to see all five star reviews. That is not very common. With that said I had to make an appointment here for my son’s first haircut! Why would I go anywhere else?
I called to schedule the appointment 2 days before I wanted to go in and they were very helpful. My son is going to turn 1 this weekend so I made sure they would be able to cut such a little boys hair.
Abi/​Abby is amazing! When we arrived we got to choose a video for him to watch while he got his haircut. While we waited he was able to play with a toy kitchen (Which he really enjoyed).
He was placed in a cute little police car for the haircut. He had a blast turning the wheel, and watching Mickey Mouse!
The haircut was quick and painless… Plus we left with a ‘first haircut’ certificate, a lock of his hair in a baggy, a balloon, and a lollipop! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with kids. We will definitely come back as long as we live nearby!

We took our 1 ½ year old here for her first haircut a year ago, and also 2 months ago for her second. She loves the front kitchen play area, and there’s not usually a long wait. The cars/​planes that the kids sit in are so cute! Parents and kids love them. The first experience was so ideal– everything I wanted as an emotional mush-​ball. The owner/​stylist is so kind and patient, and she’s great at working with our wiggly one! She gave us the cutest envelope and certificate with her «First Curl», and a loyalty card, which I always love. Our daughter didn’t care what was on the large flat screens the first time, but this last time, she took a lot of care in choosing from the huge array of children DVDs. I am so glad to have this place!

Great place for a boys haircut. Took my son today for a cut. The hair dresser made him feel comfortable with her and she had great patience with him. Great service for a great price. Will be returning! Glad to find a good local children’s salon.

After coming home from work and hair EVERYWHERE I was desperate to find a place to cut my 3 & 2 year old girls’ hair for the first time asap. This place exceeded my expectations to fix my kids hair. My girls had a great experience from beginning to end. I wish I got the hair dresser’s name. She was calm and very nice and did a great job!

Took my 22 month old in for his first haircut. He had so much fun, he didn’t want to leave! The staff was friendly and patient. They offered to take our photo for us because they know this is a momentus event for parents. They even sealed a lock of his hair in a small baggie and gave him a cerfificate of completion of his first haircut. Amazingly cute. I was very happy with the whole experience.

My Son loves this salon! It’s such an awesome experience! Peolpe are ver nice! The place is very cute! and the Price is very fair! Highly recommended !

I took my 2 year old to this salon for her first haircut. I anticipated lots of tears and resistance but the staff handled her like experts. They gave her a choice between sitting in an airplane chair or a pink car chair. She was given a lollipop and picked a DVD and we were on our way. Abi, her stylist, listened to everything I asked, efficiently trimmed her up, and even gave her a princess braid with a bow. My diva was treated like a VIP and they made our first haircut quick and painless. They even gave her a certificate and saved a lock of hair for me (the first haircut package) for no extra charge. I would highly recommend Once Upon a Curl!
As a side note, some other reviewers noted that they only accept cash. They have recently started to accept credit cards for your convenience.

LOVED this salon!!! My 19 month is usually a handful and he absolutely enjoyed his first haircut!

This place is beyond great!!! My 18 month old son has had various haircuts already but they haven’t gone so well until now. It was a rocky start but Abby was so patient and kind he settled down and she was able to cut his hair. The staff were all very polite and patient and the salon was immaculate. I highly recommend this place!

Great place! Drove by today with my almost 2 year old. I decided to stop in for his first hair cut. He got to sit in a car, watch Barney and they cut his hair with no issues. Everyone was super friendly and I will definitely bringing him back for his haircuts. What I thought was going to be a challenging experience turned into a great one!!!

Excellent service. I went with my 3 year old daughter for her first haircut and the experience was wonderful. Really nice staff that had a lot of patience with kids.
