Regarding their specialty holiday buffets: Waiters were lovely. Restaurant is beautiful and views are marvelous. I liked the combo of brunch foods and dinner foods. Salmon wasn’t fishy at all, which is killer for a buffet. My family said the sauces and horseradish cream were sublime. Overall, if you eat the prime rib, salmon, eggs Benedict and fancy cheeses, you’re getting your $ worth. What was tough: as a gluten/dairy free vegetarian, it was hard pressed to get the bang for my buck. Would’ve LOVED the option of salmon WITHOUT hollandaise sauce, though I did my best to wipe it all off. Ended up just eating huge portions of salmon and risotto, with fruit and potatoes. Would’ve loved to have seen crackers for the cheese plate. Cons: Flys within inches of fruit and cheese plate? Yucky. But it was busy, and I get it, people leave doors open. Maybe a cover for those plates too? I’ll probably go back– their a la carte main dining menu looked pretty variable.

This place is killer. Great food, thick meat, and a separate dining and bar area. Only issue is the frequent golfing traffic but it’s on a golf course. The atom sphere is more of a dark and modern design which fits nicely around their beautifully crafted bar. Although I complain with so much golf traffic it is a beautiful view of the shoot range and a few holes on the course. Fun to watch or to go down and hit some balls

I ate in the restaurant tonight, and got a fillet mignon and I was disappointed. I cannot remember the last time that I asked for steak sauce when I ordered a fillet. Service was slow, which did not help. For the price, there are many better places to go — just not in Lynden… They do have a good happy hour in the bar, with better prices… But as far as the restaurant goes, I would recommend going somewhere else for a good steak. My favorite place for a steak is the steakhouse at silver Reef.

Ordered a burger that was basically cooked on the outside only. Was not cooked all the way through. It was completely raw in the middle. I like my meat rare but this was unbearable. My wife contacted the restaurant via email hoping they would make the situation right. We even attached pics as these meals were ordered to go. We live right next to the restaurant so we thought we would give it a try… Well never again. Would’ve given them a second chance had they at least acknowledged us and I probably wouldn’t be writing this review.

Our wedding reception at Homestead turned out fantastic. I can’t say enough about the staff. Orianne, the events manager, was terrific. I loved working with her. She guided us through the process with a «can do» attitude and really worked with us on our budget. She helped us select the perfect menu for our budget and the food was fabulous. We received so many compliments on the Salmon with crab sauce and blackened chicken. The ballroom has an incredible view of the golf course. With all the doors and windows we were able to achieve an outdoor atmosphere but we didn’t have to deal with bugs and heat which was a concern for us with some of the outdoor venues we were considering.

Good food for lynden, be prepared to pay a little bit more but you know it’s quality! Outside seating in the summer is perfect! Servers are always friendly and attentive, can’t complain!

Had dinner there last week & have no complaint about the food, I had a sirloin steak it was cooked med rare just as requested, and was quite tasty. The service on the other hand left a lot to be desired, the server walked up to the table and asked if we were ready to order, never asked if we wanted beverages or appetizers, did not tell us if there were any specials, we also sat way too long before she came to the table for the first time. We(7 of us) asked to order beverages and also had to ask about specials. Once we ordered the food came out sporadically, first course most of us sat waiting for too long while the rest of the food came out… same thing with the entrees. The server never bothered to stop back and see if we needed anything and plates for both courses were not removed promptly… they really need to have a busser on the floor, if they did it was a pretty bad busperson. It’s apparent there isnt a lot of front of the house training going on here. All of us were happy with our food, but for the price point the service was poor at best, poor enough I doubt I would go back. One last thing, this place calls itself a steakhouse yet, they only have 4 streaks on the menu. whats up with that?

This place is a perfect place to chill! Drinks are awesome! From the Big Bad Mimosa to the Spanish Coffee! Meaty ribs! A wonderful portobella sandwich with goat cheese and dates! Sooo delicious! The 9 Pizza is PACKED with cheese, bacon, and steak! And my personal fave, the chocolate lava cake with an awesome mint leaf on the ice cream! Perfect to clean your palate! Love this place! Great service! Bartender guy(can’t remember his name) is awesome!

My husband and I got here at 9pm(not the dinner rush time by any means) and even though we waited to be seated in the dinning area, after 5 mins of waiting they told us to just go seat ourselves in the bar area. We were not able to find a clean table there(3 dirty ones were open) and after walking around aimlessly I was able to get attention of a waitress to clean off a table for us. On to the food. I ordered a Coconut Lime Seafood Chowder($ 15 for a med size bowl) and got a bowl of grease! There literally were 2 paddles of grease floating on top. My husband got a Caesar salad that had lots of lettuce cut too close to the core(made for a bitter salad). We also shared a Seafood Alfredo that was ok taste wise(my only complaint was the sauce seemed a bit too runny) but the portion was definitely on the smaller side. Their Steak selection is lacking, for a steakhouse. Menu is mostly pizza, sandwiches, and burgers. We definitely liked this place better last time we were here 3 years ago. Will not come back here because too expensive for what you get and did not love the taste of anything we ordered.

This is a review of the event staff and food in a Buffet style setting. I could not have asked for a more professional and accommodating event staff! These ladies are amazing, sweet, professional, go with the flow, I could go on and on! I met the chef/gm on my first visit since the event staff was not there. Nice of him to try and show me around. However, I know why he doesn’t work with the public. I felt talked down to and he did not acknowledge me on subsequent visits to the facility. Despite his poor personality, he cooked a really nice meal. when served buffet style it is hard to get the quality that we had. Went with some coconut shrimp, beef satay, antipasto, Brei, Caesar salad, carrots, garlic mashed, steak, pork chops, Apple crisp, and brownies. All very good and all my guests were pleased. The doors did not shut tightly in the ballroom and they creaked a time or two during presentations. Also, the kitchen staff was a bit loud and we could hear them chatting it up during some of our presentations. There is always room for improvement, but the event staff and the food allowed for a 4 star Rating. Also, I was told that the regular dining area is not for club members only and is open to the public. I’ll check out the restaurant dining experience soon too. I know this place won’t disappoint, so give it a try!

Lynden is full of good restaurants. Having eaten at nearly all of them I have to say Steakhouse 9 absolutely took my breath away. The wait staff is amazing and the food is delicious. I don’t know how Chef Joe is able to make such exquisite food with the the prices on the menu. With the two sides of the restaurant, it’s the perfect place to watch the game or to spend a romantic evening with my wife. I will definitely be back for more!

Good food and a comfortable atmosphere. I’m definitely going back again. I would recommend it for a family, nite out with friends, a business meeting, or a casual lunch on the back deck enjoying the sun.

Great décor, brings little Lynden into the modern era of dining. Good ambiance and great views of Mt Baker and the golf course. Sadly no outdoor seating was available… Full house! Started with good(and large) black raspberry mojitos. Appys: Tempura gran marnier shrimp — delicious. Shitake mushroom soup — excellent and had a complex base, full of mushrooms. Entrees: Seafood Alfredo — good amount of halibut, scallops and large grilled shrimp. My dining companion had Scallops Mornay, this one needs work… No sear on the scallops, and they were rubbery from being baked in the sauce. The sauce was heavenly though, with a beautiful crisp golden bake on the gruyère topping. This is why the 4 stars and not 5. Overall lovely dining experience with attentive staff that were not intrusive. With the quality and flavor of food coming out of the kitchen, Bistro 9 may need to think about expansion.

Food was really good. My wife had a burger and I ordered a pizza. The burger was very tasty… but come on people… is it really too much to ask to provide a bottle of ketchup when you bring the food out… instead of giving us a tablespoon in a fancy silver container? I realize they want to maintain a certain atmosphere, and not leave ketchup bottles on the table… so fine… don’t leave them… simply pick them up when the meal is over.

Never been here or to Lynden for that matter, but this place was very impressive. We were coming to the Homestead Resort for the weekend to play golf but knew nothing about the place. We heard that you needed reservations so we did and we were greeted at our time and promptly seated. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and attentive. Wait staff was very knowledgeable and although they have only been opened for about three weeks it is obvious that the management team has paid a lot of attention to detail with their training. Great touches like three different salts presented for different foods. And the menu, we started with caesar salads for my wife and our friends and I had the tomato bisque soup. Both were excellent. The pace of the meal was just right. We had ordered a nice bottle of Mobec and were enjoying the wine after the soup and salads. They followed with a complimentary sorbet with champagne to cleanse the palette prior to our entries. I ordered the 10oz prime rib, medium rare and it was done exactly the way I like it. Sure did look like a huge 10oz and I ended up taking a good size chunk home. The horseradish sauce was a perfect accent to the prime rib. The gruyère potatoes and asparagus were great. My wife had the rack of lamb, also medium rare and it too was perfect. This came with a tasty polenta cake and grilled broccolini. Our friends split a larger cut of the prime rib and they plated them both with no extra charge. All in all it was an excellent meal and the bill for us was only $ 109 including a bottle of wine. Definitely a 20% tip for great service. We don’t live close but if we ever pass that way we will make it a point to come back.

Just opened at the Homestead Golf Course in Lyndn, WA. We ate excellent rib steak and prime rib, with great Dungeness crab bisque. A bit pricier than most places, but the food is worth it for a special occasion. Today, 9⁄8 prime rib was tough & had a brown pot roast-type gravy. Asked for a sharp knife vs serrated knife & was first told they had none, with my wife sitting there with a sharp knife in hand. Then he brought me one. Lentil soup was poor, too. S9 has already dropped to the low level I have come to expect from Whatcom eateries, but at a much higher price. Adiós.
