The food was really good, I wouldn’t say that it was exceptional, but it is definitely one of the best places to eat in Lynden. Portions are huge– you can split them among several people. The staff is WONDERFUL and extremely accommodating and fun, they really make your meal an experience and the decorations and themed building add to the overall small town feel. This would be a great place to bring a large group or family, it’s an especially huge hit with kids. My only negative review would be that there was a horrible smell(it smelled like really strong manure) and I think it was coming off of the shoes of one of the servers, but every single time they walked past it would hit our table like a freight train and was extremely unappetizing.

The food was really good and the portions were huge. I got the chicken Alfredo and it came with a Caesar salad to start. The meal was so gigantic their was enough for two or three people so I had lots of leftovers. Customer service was friendly, will definitely be going back!

I didn’t have coffee and we did circle the parking lot 3 or 4 times before a spot opened up but on our very first visit, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. Fish and Chips was amazing, service was top notch! We will be back with the kids and I have no doubt this will be their new favorite place! Cozy, extremely family oriented, and even though the place was packed, it didn’t take long at all to see our food. Portions definitely on the larger size!!!

I wanted to really like this place for the atmosphere and décor was fun. First off, if you love coffee then stop now and don’t go, coffee was bad. I cant put my finger on it but i couldn’t get a third of a cup down and i need coffee in the am. The hash browns were raw throughout, sausage tasted rancid, and everything had the same greasy flavor. I am sorry to say it was one of my worst meals i have had. The good point was the staff was exceptionally sweet and attentive. Keep moving on and find something in Bellingham unless you want heartburn for the day.

The food is good at best. The prices are definitely not old fashioned. This could be a great place if they lowered the price. It has old café style booths that are falling apart. We might try again next year but i dont see them changing anything

Food was on point, great décor lots of picture ops outside, reasonable prices. Despite the fact that they were packed we got in relatively quick. Food took awhile but with the crowd it was understandable. Service was great. All around good family dining experience.

Real cool atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken fried steak breakfast(a perfectly stamped round processed food salty product masquerading as chicken fried steak), two medium poached eggs(done right), hash browns(standard frozen fried browned) whole wheat toast(good quality). All for only $ 10.99. Won’t do that again. I’ve eaten here before, and it’s been better. Just not my go to place. I’ll be back at a later date.

Every time I walk in I’m always greeted with a smile. The food rarely lets you down(I’m picky on my mashed potatoes) the price is more then affordable and the serving sizes are huge! You can get breakfast till 2, and we got lunch and dinner food items by 9:30 am! Everything is made when you order it so it’s so fresh when it comes out. Even though this place doesn’t look like my niche it has become my favorite place fast!

We should have walked out when I asked the waitress which was better, the chicken pot pie(marked as a specialty of the house) or the roast beef dinner and her reply was«Neither, but I just tried the pot pie, and the crust was rubbery, so I guess the roast beef.» Ringing endorsement, that. Wow. Pity, the menu looked appetizing, and the ambience was as expected(think down-home rustic country, decorated by a mad woodcarver). I ordered a chocolate shake(decent, came in a boot glass), and the afore-mentioned roast beef dinner(described in the menu as slices of roast beef over egg bread with mashed potatoes, vegetable and a choice of salad — I picked Caesar.) Caesar salad came out first with the shake, massive portion, tasted fine, as did the shake. I hadn’t eaten more than five bites when my entrée arrived. Brown. That was the predominant initial impression. Frozen, microwaved unseasoned carrot bits, and a gently undulating sea of unbroken dark brown gravy. I was a little afraid to poke around under it, lest it arise to swallow me whole like its ancestor, the Blob, but I mustered my courage and gave it a jab with my fork. Turning over the top coat of gravy, I found two slices of Texas toast, and several thin, bubbled slices of gray meat that might have once been related to Bessie the cow. The remaining unexplored lump turned out to be an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes, which tasted oddly metallic, but that might have been the brown coating that went by the moniker«gravy». My husband explored the salad bar, and found it to his liking, but his prime rib was chewy, and he had the same issues with the odd metallic taste that I did, so we left most of our meal, paid and left. At the register, we were assured that the mashed potatoes were homemade, but we received no such promises for the gravy. I give one star for the Caesar salad and shake, and one for the ambience of «The Mad Hatter meets John Wayne in Hawaii».

We came here for the first time our server was Ashley and she was fab! We got ribs with waffle fries and prime rib with a baked potato, which came with real bacon! Both the waffle fries and the baked potato where awesome! The prime rib was a little rare for medium and the ribs were a little chewy, not tender like Billy’s but I guess I shouldn’t compare. The salad bar was awesome!!! Wish it had egg & bacon!!! Loved the baby corn! Honey mustard was made in house and super good too! Will be back to try other things besides the prime rib & ribs.

Great food! Everything tasted really good, and service was friendly and prompt. It has that Billy Mchales feel with lots if stuff around as décor to keep some conversation going, but this place doesn’t have gross unclean dates look. The restaurant is very clean and the décor is very clean and fun. Food feels homemade and not thawed and reheated.

This is perhaps one of the neatest places to take kids(and big kids too)! The have the old West setting around the outside of the restaurant. They have excellent food and great service. For those who are gluten free, they have the very best GF buns. They are made by JENSEN Bakery. Big, nutritious and excellent flavor according to my wife. We are trying to find where to obtain these great tasting buns. The entire menu was superb… Great place to take kids too. Be sure and visit the SUBSTAINABLELIVINGFARMANDGARDEN store next door for live small animals. Wish we lived there! Sam Cheyne Marysville, WA

The«Wagon» has become a favorite of my with and kids(me too). Food and staff are good and the kids meals actually fill up my 10 and 12 year old which makes taking the family out more affordable. Good fish and chips and I think I have tried every fish and chips in Whatcom County. Fun atmosphere, outdoor seating and cool chainsaw carvings and theme of the old west.

The food was fairly decent, they were extremely accommodating to my husbands request for a dinner item during the lunch hour and I really enjoyed my ROTC sandwich. It’s pretty much standard greasy spoon diner food. The décor is the real attraction here. The grounds are huge and covered in bizarre carved wood statues of burros, horses, cacti, cowboys, and surprisingly antiquated portrayals of Native Americans that come across as being more kitschy than offensive. This place is a wonderland of weird. Note to Disabled: Reasonably accessible, has its own parking lot.

Best Bar Steak in Whatcom County! SOOO tender! You get a Baker and salad bar or Cesar and for about 12.00 with the tax!

This is the closest restaurant to my house, and my husband and I go here once a month or so. Food’s always good, service is great and fast. My only complaint is the décor. It used to be the perfect amount of American kitsch, but now the restaurant(and outside) are crammed with cheesy wood carvings. Really, a couple would be fine, but they are everywhere! It’s overwhelming. I’d give it 5 stars based on how it was a year ago, but the added décor(not just new, but added on top of everything else) loses it a couple points in my book. We’ll still continue to go here because we like the food, but I really don’t enjoy the décor anymore.

Went here with my mom, girlfriend and brother and found it… acceptable. It’s big on the Country Kitsch, with lots of stuff on the walls. The booth I sat in sank about six inches when I sat down, thanks to a bunch of broken springs. Wow. But the service was incredibly fast and very friendly. Food portions were huge and it came out super hot. I had chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns and toast. The toast was very, very good. The eggs were eggs. The steak was pretty thick, with a batter coating that seemed hand-dipped, and fried up. But it was pretty mediocre, all the same. The hash browns were tasty. My girlfriend enjoyed her pancakes and bacon, and my mom seemed to dig her corned beef hash. Pretty reasonably priced, too. It wasn’t that bad… it wasn’t that great and I have found better places in the area. But it certainly is a solid breakfast option.
