Came in for BBQ tonight, and was VERY impressed. The staff was all in a great mood, and extremely friendly. A mistake was made with our order, and they went above and beyond to correct our order. Will definitely be going there again.

My wife and I ate there for the first time tonight. I used to live in Texas and have eatena lot of BBQ over the years and have to say this Dicky’s is as good as any Dicky’s I’ve eaten at in Texas and better than most. I was surprised. I have the chicken, brisket, and sausage plus cole slaw and waffle fries. I tried my wife’s potato salad and I will be getting that next time. It wasn’t cheap but good BBQ never is. Then place was clean and the staff was friendly. I will go back often.

Went here on my last visit to Washington. Best BBQ in town! Loved the chopped brisket sandwich!

First timers at Dickey’s, was craving BBQ so we ventured out to Lynden for lunch. I ordered the 2 meat lunch(beef brisket and pulled pork) with Caesar salad and waffle fries, and my boyfriend had the Westerner sandwich with the same meat. The cashier was super friendly and told us where everything was located, and about their free soft serve ice cream machine. The price tag kind of threw me for a loop, $ 28 later, but in the end, well worth it. The meat was perfect, pork is dry of course, but this wasn’t as dry as other pork I have had or cooked, and adding their signature BBQ sauce helped. The Caesar salad was just okay, I was trying to make a more healthy choice as I am watching carbs right now, and the waffle fries and the roll reminded me of why I love my carbs. Pure heaven. The soft serve ice cream was a nice gesture and touch and another nice treat for this low carber! I love the décor inside, and didn’t know that Dickeys is a chain, but don’t care. I really enjoyed this place and will be back. We are getting a Dickeys in Ferndale, but we will still visit the Lynden one. Four stars, prices are a bit steep but to be expected. Overall, I really enjoyed this place.

I went here on Mother’s day. I thought Dickey’s is more of a restaurant, similar to Famous Dave bbq joint, but this place is more of a KFC setting. Doesn’t bother me, as long as its good bbq. I went to order ribs, $ 22 full rack but they were out. A little disappointed since that was the reason i drove from bellingham to here. I ordered their single item meat plate of sliced brisket with Onion Tangles and potato salad. My 5 year old daughter got a kids meal for free because its Sunday. Yay! Bill came to $ 10.54 with tax. The brisket had a good smoked flavor, I enjoyed it. Their 3 choices of bbq sauce was nothing spectacular, too tangy for my taste. I like how they fry your food to order, the workers seemed miserable, maybe it was too hot(no air conditioner) and because they had to be away from their family on mother’s day. One girl delivered food to a table, and while heading back, she slipped/tripped fell down and hit her head. The people at the table asked if she was ok, she held her head for awhile in silence and tiredly said«I’m okay.» Poor girl, you can tell she had a long day. Anyways, back to the place. I cant really say if I love it because I did not get to try their ribs. However, If Dickey’s is in Bellingham, I’d stop by once a week, because I love bbq and its fast, affordable and legit. But because I rarely go to Lynden, Chances are I wont be back for awhile, it costs me more gas and time to drive there just for fast food. If i ever happen to be in the area, I want to get ribs and brisket.

The food is above average in quality, especially from a chain joint. I give 5 stars though for the excellent service. To make a long story short, they messed up a large order I had made online. When I called, I was pleasantly surprised to discover they were not defensive about it — they actually did some research and figured out the mistake. I was told to keep the food we had already gotten, and to give them 15 minutes to make the entire correct order. When I showed up, they were genuinely apologetic, had another $ 50 worth of food all ready to go for me, and gave me $ 15 in credit for another time. Sometimes when you make a mistake, you can turn it around and create an excellent experience, and these guys did just that.

I love BBQ. I own a Weber Big Smokey Mountain smoker, and I know how to use it… so it is hard for me to love BBQ at a place like this. If I had to pick between eating at Burger King and eating here, I would pick here.

While visiting my husband’s family in Lynden, they took us to a new spot that had just opened up, Dickey’s. Overall my experience can be summarized as follows: 4* — Waffle Fries — the highlight of my dinner. I would come back just for these. It is hard to find good waffle fries as not many places has them. These were awesome! 3* — Ambiance — fast food meets BBQ. Simple fast food interior. You go to the front to order your food, and then sit down and they bring the food to the table. 3* BBQ meat — good standard BBQ meat nothing great, but not bad either. 3* BBQ Sauce — good standard selection of sauces 4* Free whole pickles! Bonus: Free soft serve ice cream! :)

First time visitor, but long time fan of BBQ. The young man greeting us was pleasant enough but I was almost blinded by a fresh sheen of oil glistening off the brim of his cap. While wondering how it got there, the young man took his grease laden gloved hands and repositioned his cap in front of me. It was the same hands covered in sweaty cap brim that handled the fully cooked beef brisket which went on buns and ultimately in people’s mouths. Hmm. The welcome experience was further jeopardized by a young gal running the til who had Texas size attitude and who seemed very bothered about questions on menu. Add to this, a particularly S L O W service and I was thinking, 1, maybe, 1.5 stars, but alas, we got our meals and it was decent enough. The free ice cream was a nice touch too. BBQ is a unique, rustic, and homespun type of entrée, that begs for simple surroundings, and yes, a little lower bar on food safety — I get it. But a nicer welcome that mimicked the southern hospitality of the chains origins(Dallas), an option for a local brew(heck even bottled brew from Canada), and I might have thought a little better of this place. I may return, just not anytime soon.

Fast Food Barbecue. Like… real barbecue. Who would have known? Took my mom and brother here before heading back home to Oregon. It was pretty interesting. Basic concept… you choose a sandwich or a meat plate, pick your meat of five or six types, and then choose your sides. Great concept, great presentation. I chose a sandwich with pulled pork and brisket, and I think both my family members had a sandwich with just pulled pork. The waffle fries were hot and pretty damn good. The macaroni and cheese was alright. The other sides that my family got seemed to be pretty decent. Beans and green beans, I believe. The barbecue sauce is served on the side, so you can add as much or as little as you want, including three different flavours. I tried the original recipe and the spicy style. I really loved the spicy style… it had a great tang to it. I dipped my fries in it and doused the sandwich with it. Sodas are somewhat expensive… over two bucks for one, but free refills and a big yellow cup, which they urge you to take home and use again. Free advertising and ingrained thought patterns, I suppose, but to charge for a «souvenir» cup was a little annoying. All in all, it was pretty good food, with free ice cream in the back. It did cost us over $ 35 bucks, for fast food. Kinda pricy for a «order at a counter and take to your own table» kind of place, but it was pretty decent.

Food okay, cold, but tasty. Prices on high side, you actually get much more by going around the corner to Jakes, though you need to tip ~~service was awful, the two girls working the counter were cold and verged on being rude. The tables were dirty, the floor was very dirty. This place needs attention to detail by the owner if they want to keep people coming back. Did not know about the free ice cream, the two angry young ladies that worked there certainly did not share that info ~~~

Being a Texan, I expect great things from BBQ joints. Since Dickey’s is a «Texas-based chain,» I was very excited that Lynden got one! Literally, the only thing missing is good old Texas customer service. There needs to be more smiles, more helpful attitudes, and more charm amongst the employees because the look of the place, the smell of the BBQ and the décor all scream«TEXAS!» but the reserved manner of the employees squeaks«Lynden.»(I love Lynden folks, don’t get me wrong, but I really miss that good old Southern hospitality, and was hoping Dickey’s trained even their farthest neighbors to be more like«The FRIENDLY state:) The fried okra was divine, the waffle fries warm and crisp and the Texas chopped BBQ delicious. A friend and I split the meal, and didn’t leave hungry. The free ice cream is, of course, a great way to end the meal. YES, I’ll be back, with a big ol’ contagious smile on my face.

Had the sandwich, BBQ sliced brisket and polish sausage. Fricking good. Big slices of everything, meat, onions, pickles. Great meal value with sides(Had Jalapeño beans and baked potato casserole thing). Will definitely return, thinking of using them for catering in near future. It is a chain though…

Only thing keeping them from getting a 5 was the long wait and the fact they were out of some food. Several people walked out because of that.(this was their 4th day open) Heard that they opened up, so drove up to Lynden. They are in the little plaza with Starbucks. Since they have only been open for a couple days the line was just crazy. I waited for 30mins or so, but it was well worth the wait. They have probably the best ribs I have had in Whatcom county. I glad I got mine, because I think they were running out. They were out of baked beans so I couldn’t try them, but the green beans were great. Mac and cheese was just ok. Polish sausage was excellent. Wife wanted Chicken, but they were out so she had the turkey. Everything is smoked to perfection, the down side is once they run out you are out of luck. She also loved the waffle fries and the dinner rolls. We will wait a little longer before we go back, but we will definitely make the drive back. Oh, bonus is Free Ice cream and a Free Dill pickle.
