We’ve been twice now so I could say they’re consistent. Great buffet we really feel like were getting so much bang for our buck, sushi was great! Which I don’t always expect in an all you can eat setting and usually makes me a lil nervous, but not here. They’ve really got an amazing selection and the staff is always a pleasure to be around and very polite. They’ve got my fave cream cheese ragoons which is a must in my book haha so if your like me and that’s a deal breaker for you, they’ve got em next to some sweet and sour sauce they aren’t shy about ! Yum yum sauce, hot and sour soup, steaks too much to name. Our son gets to eat for free(3& under) which is a huge plus since he eats like a bird anyway haha we always feel robbed getting charged for him elsewhere. They serve Tsing Tao which we love. No complaints here. Only thing we didn’t care for was their self serve ice cream, kinda weird consistency, but plenty of topping options and more desserts to choose from! Great place.

This is just a Buffett place nothing more, don’t expect much and set your expectations low. We had good service and the price was right but you get what you pay for.

Horrible!!! One of the worst places to eat in Lynchburg! Food is greasy and has no real Asian flare at all. Tastes very bland. American food selections are bland also. Tables are old, wobbly and just nasty looking. If you want a value, there are plenty of other choices. This place is a waste of money! Also, the dessert bar is very messy and unsanitary.

People and service are nice and very helpful. However the food leaves alot to be desired. A family of 4 will drop 40 bucks on what has become less than sub par food. Buyer beware.

My family used to go here all the time. Even had my wedding reception here. It used to be great. I don’t know if they changed cooks or what but the food has become terrible. Today my daughter and I thought we would give it another chance. I got some things that were ok. but when i cut into my chicken breast it was pink inside. It made me sick to my stomach and couldn’t eat anything else. So needless to say I will not waste my money here anymore.

Quite possibly the absolute best hibachi grill/buffet I’ve ever been to! Everything actually had flavor and not just salt taste. 4 buffet tables and Huge dessert selection! The absolute best sushi buffet I’ve ever had. Many choices and all delicious. I found it funny they had quite many choices of American food, roast beef, ham, sweet potatoes, etc. We had a table of 10 mainly drinking water so that’s my only complaint, they didn’t fill the waters.

My son and I went to Choice Buffet on a Saturday at dinner time, but I had no sense of being hurried or crowded. The server was very pleasant and helpful and as an ‘old’ person, I was gifted with some hot tea– nice touch.(I also got a $ 1.00 discount on dinner– not much, but something is better than nothing.)
The selection of items was laid out in an attractive, well lighted manner and was nicely accessible. Everything was refreshed regularly and it all seemed quite fresh, not as if it had been under the lights too long, especially the sushi. Ah ! The sushi– a great selection and very attractively displayed. Two sushi chefs were making the stuff right behind the counter. I was a bit disappointed to see the terrible east-coast invention– yum yum sauce– spread across several of the rolls, but each was available without yum yum if you asked.(In doing this review, I told myself I wouldn’t say«I’m from California and…», but I am, and Choice Buffet is certainly up to the standards of California places of its sort.) The hibachi counter was next to the sushi, so occasionally people waiting for hibachi managed to block the sushi counter, but they seemed courteous enough to move if requested. all of the hibachi selections were laid out nearby so waiting was not really necessary. Guess they didn’t notice. The hibachi was good and well — as in ‘correctly’ — done. There was a nice salad bar, another table of American specialties– mac and cheese, meat loaf, etc. and it all looked great. The Chinese-Japanese hot table was quite extensive and all the dishes were fresh and very tasty. I had no criticism with any of them. The walnut chicken was excellent. There were four kinds of soup. And– there were stuffed soft shell crabs, clams on the half shell, oysters, crab legs, shrimp and calamari, etc. Finally– the dessert table– I didn’t try it– I have never found much to admire in Chinese restaurants as to dessert. they always seemed dry and boring, albeit very sweet. they had a chocolate fountain which looked interesting, with sticks to use to dip fruit, etc. pieces in the chocolate. I don’t like dessert much anyhow. Tables and chairs and/or booths are available and they were placed far enough apart to allow diners to easily move about with their plates– always a consideration in buffet environments. The place is much larger than it appears from the outside and even tho the parking lot was full, the restaurant was not. Parking is sufficient, however in a private lot. Only one criticism, and its not the restaurants shortcoming– it’s the customers. Many of them seem to have the ‘deer-in-the-headlights’ problem when confronted by all the choices. They stand in the migration lanes and generally obstruct traffic. They stand in front of a table of selections and seem to take forever to decide, or take a tiny spoon of this and a tiny spoon of that… maddening, but I’m used to it from cruise ships. I’ll get over it. I didn’t try the sake, which others have slammed but I imagine it’s the usual rather pedestrian stuff you find in small inexpensive Japanese places. The $ 12.00 per person tab is not too bad, especially as compared to the fare at King’s Island Restaurant,(if you know Lynchburg, you know King’s Island) with which Choice Buffet favorably compares. what I got for $ 24 at Choice would go for $ 50 or more at Kings Island. And guys– even if you’re in your best torn dirty t-shirt and rumpled khakis for dinner– please remove your John Deere ball cap.

So much sushi! I thought it was very tasty. My friend encountered one piece of sushi that was oddly chewy and I had one that had a mystery ingredient(didn’t eat it) but we ate a lot of their sushi– they did a great job of making it fresh and frequently. The main buffet was also very tasty and I loved the hibachi options. Definitely going back sometime. I was amused that their bathrooms sign is half out and says«bat Roos»

Just paid $ 72 for 3 people with 3 bottles of disgusting saki. The food was hard to swallow & the only reason I’m giving it a star is because a) I have to… in order to leave a review & b) the waitress was very attentive(even though she barely spoke English & the way she says«Pepsi» will make you think you heard a vulgar word). Otherwise, I got one single plate of half-decent sushi from chefs who gave me dirty looks while I served myself & nothing tasted the way food is supposed to taste. I didn’t dare go back for seconds. My friends and I feel like we were jipped from a good meal & seriously considered dining and dashing. It was awful. We will never be going back again. Gross!

Really depends on what time/season you go, but I’ve always had at least a good experience here. I’ve been there one night during winter break for late dinner and a lot of the dishes had been sitting out a while, but then I came another time to celebrate graduation(after most of the Liberty kids had left) and for lunch all of the food was hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked(or perfectly raw in the case of some sush items). Definitely going to miss this place after my college career is over.

Always a favorite place to eat for lunch. All the food is freshly prepared and constantly being refilled. There is an extremely wide selection of foods of all types, so there is definitely something here for everyone. Incredible selection of fresh fruits at the salad bar, seasonal and otherwise. Highly recommend. Managers Jean and Jason are top notch and take care of any need.

I saw a man swallow half a chicken, cough it up, then get more food… with the same plate. Buffets are not something I think I will ever enjoy. Plus I just don’t eat past 1– plates. The food is just sitting out and being picked over by an entire restaurant of people. If you have a family of fifteen and each child likes something different then by all means, come. Who am I stop you from feeding your picky children? If you are anyone else, run, please.

Its a buffet, plain and simple. If you like asian buffets and economy sushi its fine. Your going to pay $ 10.99 for a dinner buffet. The Hibachi grill is not going to match up to a Japanese style restaurant even the noodles are a bit disappointing but consider that the nearest Japanese dive is going to be $ 10 for steak and rice or noodles and I guess it okay. All and all considering the price and the amount of buffet food they offer it’s a decent dinner.

This is a very clean and top notch buffet! For this price, sushi and sashimi? Wow, don’t know how they make any profit, but the food is fresh, tasty, and savory!!! The staff are fast, nice, and very considerate!

It reminds me of most buffets I have been to(such as Golden Corral)– but with an asian mix. You will notice the American/Asian Mix of cuisine right away. They have a good mix of vegetable hibachi and veggie rice. My only complaint is about the frozen yogurt. it did not taste like yogurt at all– but that is okay. I met a few people here that said they loved coming to this hibachi buffet and always visit while they are in town. If you are into the«all you can eat» type of eating– you will probably enjoy this restaurant.

I was in town for my sister graduation at Liberty University .My family decided to come to Choice Hibachi Buffet for dinner. I’m not a huge fan of buffets but majority decision rules. I’ve been to a couple buffet restaurants in Richmond but I wasn’t impressed. I was surprise to be impressed with Choice Hibachi Buffet. I came with a party of 13 people and our wait time was only around 15 minutes. The food was good, the buffet was well kept, and a great selection of food. The hibachi cooks did a good job preparing the dishes you picked out. Good choice of sushi. Choice Hibachi Buffet offered a nice selection of desserts. The service was good. The atmosphere was typical of a buffet spot. The décor of the restaurant is really nice upon walking into Choice Hibachi Buffet. If you are in Lynchburg, Va and you like buffets. Choice Hibachi Buffet is a good choice.
