Brownstone Properties

I would NOT recommend that ANYONE rent from Brownstone Properties. I rented a house from them for well over a year in 2013. The property manager I was assigned (A.N.) was consistently RUDE, ABRASIVE, and verbally ABUSIVE to not only myself, but my daughter and my other adult friends as well. This behavior was not precipitated by any acts on my part, it is simply the way that this property manager conducts business. I was a homeowner for 22 years before becoming a renter, and I take very good care of any house that I rent. This property manager withheld almost 50% of my security deposit (which was substantial) and gave me NO explanation of the charges or what they were for. Other employees in the Brownstone office cover for her rude behavior, which is inexcusable. Again, rent from a different agency if you can! Hill City Realty in Lynchburg is far superior to this awful place. This agency is best avoided.

Rented a nice little apartment from them for my college daughter. They were friendly at first but charged her $ 184.00 for a plumbing problem that she didn’t cause. Very rude when I politely complained. Nickel and dimed us with cleaning fees after she moved out and had cleaned thoroughly. Kept about half of the security deposit. Lynchburg has other property management companies that treat renters MUCH better.
