Two stars for great food but poor service. We went for lunch and had the BLT and the catfish with seafood gumbo food was great but only one server who was a bit overwhelmed a few people left because they sat down and she never acknowledged they were even there.

Husband & I stopped here looking for some lunch after a River Road plantation tour. Service was pretty terrible but the food was delicious(in a $ 15 for 2 meals, 2 sides and 2 drinks kinda way). No real atmosphere, except for the vaguely religious anti-divorce literature all over the place, but a perfectly good place to stop for a cheap lunch. The macaroni cheese and dirty rice were both pretty incredible as sides! My BLT croissant was decent too. Worth a stop for lunch if you’re passing through, wouldn’t be a regular even if I didn’t live 60 miles away!

We came here after a full day of driving and were so happy we did! The burgers and fries were fantastic!!! They even had a movie on tv that we liked. Homey friendly clean restaurant in a small town near our bed and breakfast.

The burger I had was fantastic, and the fries were good, too. I was the only customer and the server seemed slightly confused but was friendly enough. My burger, fries, and soda came to $ 9something and when I gave her $ 15, I kind of expected the waitress to say«thank you» or «have a nice day» but she didn’t say anything. Maybe she can’t do math. Anyway, the burger was fantastic. The roll was squishy and good.

In short, good food, very poor service. I ate here on a Saturday night, and upon arriving, several other people came in. There was only one waitress. It happens. Usually with only one server and a deluge of people entering, it might take a long time to get your order; it might take a long time to get your food; your meal may come out incorrect. It’s excusable. Unfortunately, in our respect, it wasn’t. The waitress, although acknowledging we were among the first to enter, went and took the orders of most others who arrived after us. It took her about 15 minutes to take our order. Their food came out well before our’s, such that it took close to 40 minutes before we got ours. I requested my sandwich on jalapeño bread, yet my sandwich did not come on it. Luckily, it was dressed the way I wanted it; on the other hand, the waitress gave us an appetizer order of fries, even though we only wanted side order. Historically, I have come to Aunt Ellie’s usually getting pretty good service, and it’s understandable when things can get hectic, but to serve others who came in minutes after you and for them to get their food well in advance is totally unacceptable. On another note, Spectacular Tubers has seceded from Aunt Ellie’s and is now a separate restaurant in Gramercy.
