LiveWell Athletic Club

This place is the best! All the staff is extremely friendly and very helpful! I have been a member for almost 4 years!!! I love the classes they offer on top of the equipment you can use!!! I would recommend this gym to anybody! I also love the fact that they have childcare!!!

If I could give zero stars, I would.
I grew up in Lufkin and I would visit Livewell every so often. It used to be a nice gym with state of the art facilities. I came into town and went in to get a workout. I must say, over the years it has completely lost lost it’s image and I have absolutely no respect. I went in today and it was horrible! The machines are from the dinosaur ages and the staff was rude.
I’m used to going to a gym where everything is organized and up kept. The weights were everywhere and I had to scrounge to get what I wanted. The crazy part is that the cable machine screeched loudly and didn’t work, I felt like I was moving a mountain and the staff didn’t even acknowledge it.
If they’re going to charge guests $ 13 a person, they really need to update their equipment and hire friendly staff.
I would NOT recommend this place, go to anytime fitness instead, I know I will.

I had a membership for two years and staff was always rude and the weight room was always a mess. My friend (who is in the Army) had orders for deployment and had to cancel their membership a year earlier and livewell wouldn’t honor the deployment orders and made them play over $ 300 to buy out their contract. Like who does that? All I know is that I will not be coming back. Livewell is only out to get your money and they don’t care for their customers at all.
The salon is a wreck as well. I bought a month of tans and even if I were the first in line to tan, if you were friends with the person working the front desk, they’d go on first. When I said something to the manager, she kinda just said, «hahaha did they really?» All just smiles. It was so unprofessional. While all this was happening I witnessed a hairdresser (who had completely butchered this poor lady’s hair) blame her customer’s «awkward shaped head» as the cause of her client’s awful haircut. I was completely appalled. I will never go back to livewell’s gym or salon even if someone paid me to go. NEVER AGAIN.
