If you’re looking for drive-​thru Mexican food, this is the place. They do have seats inside, but not very many and it’s just counter seating. There’s also one lone table outside. So yeah, you’re probably using the drive-​thru if you come here.
Decent food. Tex-​Mex for sure. I had the chicken fajita plate and it was OK. Also tried the beef steak, and I liked it. Charro beans included in both, not bad.

I recently tried the tacos al pastor, and whoa diggity, I’ll be back just for those, the tacos carnitas are good, too. Anyone that hasn’t been to La Unica Express needs to get in and find out what they’ve been missing, there’s a reason this place consistently makes The Best of Lufkin.

Just great food! Mexican food to me tastes all the same, and refried beans are floyover country. Not at La Unica. Family run, everything seems freshly prepared. Toyed with getting a second helping of the beans, but I’m big enough already. The Express is a smaller version of La Unica across town with a bigger menu. Yeah, this place deserves five stars.
