Very friendly guys. Very interesting still. Very tasty product. Shows that small, independent places can do things the big guys wouldn’t dare. The creativity of the owners is evident in every aspect of the place and their product. Highly recommended place to stop and visit. I only wish their spiced rum were ready to sell. It tasted great!

We happened to stop by Second Sight today and ending talking with the owners, Rick and Carus, for an hour or so. Super friendly and knowledgable. They offer tours where they show you the still, which they built mostly themselves, and discuss their process. Right now they only make a white rum, although they’re working on a barrel-​aged rum and a gin. The rum is different to the standard, almost flavorless rum you would normally mix in a drink. It’s a bit more complex and floral due to their process.
After the tour they offered a free tasting and cookies made from the same molasses as they make the rum. They even gave us a bunch of cookies to take home. Along with the straight rum, they also do a sample of a cocktail they make with it involving pomegranate and ginger ale.
Again, they were very friendly and the rum was quite good. They have a lot of cool ideas that are in the works so I would definitely check them out.
