For the space they have, the area it’s in, being Lucerne, a small beach community sitting next to clear lake. Clear lake has Mercury from a local mine, a green algae you can’t let your kids or dog near, drink or touch. This alone makes it difficult any business to survive that doesn’t sell gas or lottery tickets. The deli/supermarket does a great job of balancing the needs of locals with reasonably priced daily food and drink needs, but also in having a great meat counter, along with a deli and a good variety of groceries, alcohol, ice cream, etc. the shelves are full with daily needs, cereal, cookies and such. He deli sandwiches are good, reasonably priced.

This market has the best meat you will ever eat. The meat quality is better than Costco and the prices are very competitive. I have ordered Filet Steaks twice and they were tasty and like butter. Great customer service! Who would have thought you could find such high quality meat in a little town like Lucerne! Kenny the butcher is extremely helpful!

I was all set to buy a beautiful chuck roast when I heard the butchers making misogynistic political comments to one another behind the counter. I find that offensive and believe that they should be there to help their customers rather than holding a political rally and anti-woman discussion behind the counter. Count me as a loss forever folks, no matter your meat supply!

Great little market with everything you need. Wonderful, customizable meat department with a variety of meat packs for stocking up your freezer. Grab yourself a deli sandwich while you’re here… fresh, filling and tasty :) Always friendly, helpful employees.

During our one day holiday we have abandoned the organic-friendliness of the Bay for the redneck-friendly scariness of the Clearlake region. This was pretty rough — all our standards of cleanliness were taken away from us and we were literally dipped into the soup of clean-is-what-clean-does-not-even-look-like. The store was stocked up with some good-looking meat and they even were making pizza and sandwiches to order, it just smelled REALLY bad inside and looked dirty. After leaving the store I wanted to wash my hands so that I do not bring any new bacteria from the store into the street. I looked at the guy preparing the sandwiches in this dirty old store and when I saw him wearing no gloves, my hunger has mysteriously disappeared.

This market get 5 stars only for the butcher and meat market. The rest of the market really needs to step up to the meat market level. They need to CLEAN-UP the place and do a much better job of providing fresh and reasonably priced fruit and vegetables then I’d 5’Star the business. Staff is friendly.

I’m not a meat eater, per say… but my husband is and he says Lake View Deli & Supermarket has the Best Meat Counter with in 100 miles easy! You can always count on some great conversation while watching Kenny skillfully cut perfect cuts of meat. At first I worry about his fingers, but I soon realized that he is just that experienced. I also love to shop there because it reminds me so much of the Mom & Pop markets of yesteryear! Convenient location right on Highway 20 as you drive through Lucerne. Would definitely recommend it for camping, park or home BBQs or just because it’s there!

We were referred from a gal at a local winery when we inquired about where to buy some good meat to enhance our camping trip. She sent us to Kenny, an eccentric PreMed butcher, who hooked us up with the best rib eye steak I’ve had in years. Meeting him and having his steak on the grill at our camp site will be one of the best memories of our trip to Lake County.

I have been watching WAY too much Andy Griffith on Netflix lately and dang Aunt Bea keeps making fried chicken for the prisoners which makes ME want the stuff. I’ve eaten a few places’ fried chicken lately and yesterday, when picking up meat at Lakeview Market, I saw fried chicken. Hmmmm. I thought I’d give it a try. Lakeview Market is really a butcher store that has the normal stock of groceries. While you can get your regular shopping done there the star of the show is an incredible butcher’s counter with a real genuine staff of enthusiastic people behind the counter that actually know what they’re doing. The prices for the meat are great, particularly if you take the quality into mind, and this is the best place for meat for probably 100 miles around. I’ve learned that the best tip is to go in and tell the guys behind the counter what I’m doing(barbecue, smoker, etc.) and they hook me up with meat that makes me look like I belong on the Food Network. Their rock stars make me look like a kitchen rock star. So I was picking up the aforementioned meat as well as some other groceries and there was fried chicken in the deli case. Oh, did I mention the cool little deli in the back of the store? Yeah, that’s there too and the butcher’s sister can bake like a superstar. While I don’t know what Aunt Bea is capable of, being a fictional character and all, I can say that this is the best fried chicken I’ve had. Anywhere. It’s tender, very moist and has a good crust on it. If fried chicken were a drug Lakeview Market would be my dealer of choice. Lakeview is an unassuming place. From the outside you’d never know how great some of the things inside are, including the staff. While this isn’t the Disney-fied grocery store with high prices on marginal items most city dwellers are used to, it’s a great country store that’s been here for many, many years, and has the stuff you’ll need at fair prices without fake cards or membership programs or any of that nonsense. And there’s that whole deli that’s like the icing on the cake. Shoot — don’t I have to go back today for some meat… and frrrriiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeed chicken!

This must be the best kept secret around the lake! We get QUALITY meat via the meat packs… do the math and you will see its a great deal! It comes out to around $ 3(actually less, depending on the package) per pound. Plus they let you substitute & customize the order! They have an incentive program — ask for them to punch your card. First time customers get a special deal, as does the person who referred you.(You can tell them I did!) They cut and package the meat as you like it(I substitute boneless chicken breast for the whole chickens) and it comes nicely packaged, ready for the freezer. If that isn’t enough, get this… THEYDELIVERFORFREE! Even across the lake! The employees and the owner are always courteous and willingly answer any questions. The bacon and cross cut roasts are great! I hate buying meat at the grocery store when this market has better quality, better prices, and better service!!!

They’ve been there forever. They have a real butcher. I’ve been a vegetarian for 20 years, but before that I would drop by every Friday after work and get a nice steak. They have a deli in the back corner of the store, which most folks don’t even know is there, but the locals know. Nice handmade sandwiches and they recently have been making take and bake pizzas.

A cute little market that is expensive!!! $ 6.99 for a regular clover 1lb pack of cheese! $ 3.79 for turkey or chicken hot dogs! The reason they get 3 stars is because of their meat department. They have a butcher there daily cutting up fresh meats and you can get whatever you want! They also do meat packs where you can pick a package and what kinds of meat you want… way cool! It is hard to find a good butcher shop these days, or at all for that matter, most of our meat is already cut and plastic wrapped before we see it. So, when I find a good butcher shop I really appreciate it! If you are a carnivore like I am, and you are looking for a good fresh cut of meat, check this place out!

A strange store. They actually have a great meat department with a really competent butcher. If you are looking to pick something up to BBQ, get it here and save yourself a trip to the other side of the lake. Otherwise, there’s a little bit of everything, but don’t expect to find many«specialty items.» There are no windows in the place which likely contributes to the constant musty smell. Pretty decent wine selection, too.
