The Centre At Overton Park

I am not one to write reviews. But people need to know about this place before they make the same mistake I did. The three reason why:
1. You get stolen 4 TIMES first time I came back to my apartment after a long break only to find my roomates tv on, her bed looked like somebody had been there, my ipod gone and her gold and diamond ring gone. Both of these things were in drawers. The second time maintenance came in to fix the kitchen light while I was gone. My sister’s gift that was on top of the table disapeared. The third time my boyfriend parked overnight in the parking garage and left things in his car. Everything got stollen. The fourth time my boyfriends car got a window broken. He didn’t have anything in there this time
2. Bird poop. I have a beautiful big terrace overlooking the courtyard. I can never use it because it is overrun by pigeons. It is absolutely disgusting.
3. Dirty. That place has never seen a vacuum in its life. The garage has never been cleaned therefore you come in from it into you white carpet apartment and bring the soot from the garage inside.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. It is an overall expensive and awful experience.

Great location right across from Texas Tech. It has the convenience of a dorm, but the luxury of a hotel. The management are constantly upgrading the property; from a new business center to a new fitness room, there’s always something to look forward to.

If you’re looking for a luxury apartment right by Texas tech this may be the place for you. There’s several floor plans to choose from. I rent one of their loft ¹⁄₁ and it’s pretty adorable with the spiral staircase. The complex is at a great location and offers a business center which is great to study at if you can get there before everyone else does plus there’s free printing but don’t get excited they barely keep it stocked so paper is rare. Also there is a good size gym that is pretty nice but I wish they have better variety of machines. The club house is alright, they have a coffee machine where you can brew your own cup of coffee but I wouldn’t recommend it, I don’t think it’s been cleaned out since it was purchased. The pool is nice but the complex lets if get pretty dirty before cleaning it out so don’t count on it. The maintenance is pretty quick about responding so that’s a plus. The parking is convenient for the tenant, you can park on your floor so it’s not a huge walk but when you have guests over it is a pain! They have yet to fix the keypad thing at the entrance of the garage so you can let your guests in so be prepared to run up and down to let them in which is horribly aggravating if you life on the 4^th floor. Another point of disappointment is the pigeons! Whenever it rains the gutter gushes with pigeon poop, it’s disgusting and I think it would be an easy fix if they put leaf guards on the rain gutters to prevent them from nesting in there and the tenants with balconies would greatly appreciate this because for those unfortunate souls they can’t even enjoy their balcony because of all the pigeon poop piling up on their balcony.
I have enjoyed my stay here overall but I would say that it’s extremely pricy. It’s overpriced when you consider the issues plus it’s not like you have granite counters or stainless steel appliances. Oh and if your married that’s too bad because you’ll still have to pay a double occupancy fee!
