Best Mexican food in Lubbock, besides Montelongos. Great service, fun atmosphere, and wicked good Mexican food. Go!

Great prices, great portions, great service! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Lubbock! The margaritas are delicious, and the food is great too. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Mexican food.

My family went to Lubbock this past weekend for a graduation and I love to try new places. I looked up Taueria Jalisco and saw the reviews. I love family restaurants with good home cooked food; well, this place is it. We ordered the queso to start with and it had good seasoning. I ordered something with fajita beef, poblano peppers, onions, bacon, and mushrooms served with rice and beans for $ 9.99– OMG it was amazing!!! My husband got the enchilada and quesadilla plate($ 7.99) which was also very good. My three kids all ordered something: Jalisco burrito(a home made flour tortilla STUFFED with fajita chicken for $ 5.99), chicken fajita quesadilla($ 2.99) and then chicken tenders(which looked and tasted freshly battered not frozen). This place was so good I wish we had gone back for breakfast the next day but we headed home around 7am and my kids were not feeling more Mexican food at that time LOL. Wonderful service and staff just complimented the restaurant more… cannot wait to go back!

Service was amazing. I wish I could remember our server’s name because she was so sweet and attentive. The food was delicious. Literally no complaints.

This is an awesome spot for delicious Mexican food that’s a little greasier and a little divey-er than chain restaurants in Lubbock, meaning it’s really, really good. The food here is inexpensive and delicious, and the staff has always been kind. They offer pages of great options and every drink and dessert you could possibly want during and after a heavy, tasty meal of Mexican food. Try their fajita tacos(smaller, street-taco style) or the fajitas for 1(able to split between 2 people!) for an inexpensive meal and worth-it-for-the-calories sort of entrée. Meals come with some simple chips and salsa, and you can ask for additional(spicier) sauces from your server for an added kick. It can get a bit busy, but most of the time the staff is great to check on you throughout your time. Overall, I’ve had good experiences here to get some good, varied Mexican food!

Some good ass, authentic Mexican food! Wait Staff is always prompt! They keep chips and salsa and your drinks to the brim at all times! If You’re craving Mexican food, I’d suggest this place over any Mexican food joint in town!

Landed in Lubbock and drove straight here. This is some of the best food in Texas. Huge portions… great prices. If you’re ever close to this place, it is a MUST stop.

Best service, fast, inexpensive and hot! It’s always busy. We’ve been patrons for years. If they had a patio, we’d probably move in. This is not Abuelo’s-type Mexican food. This is, gooey, greasy Mexican food. If you know that going in, you won’t be disappointed. Try the #40.

Delicious food, fast and friendly service! I’ve tried several different menu items, all delicious but their cheese enchiladas are amazing. Great chips and queso as well.

Coming from Southern California, and having a Mexican step-momma who makes amazing food, I might be a bit of a Mexican Food snob, but this place was nothing special. I got combination #36, which is a tamal, an enchilada, and a chile relleno. The tamal was disgusting. It seemed boiled, like a Guatemalan tamal, instead of steamed, like a Mexican tamal. The chile relleno and enchilada weren’t bad, but they were very bland, and smothered with too much cheese. Pretty sure we won’t be going back.

I think this is great Mexican food. Idk how people say«it’s not authentic mexican”(in my most proper voice) how are you going to tell a bunch of Mexicans from Mexico this is not authentic. Anyways off of my soapbox the food is great and the staff is friendly.

If you want delicious Mexican food, look no further, Jalisco’s has you covered. You must order the shrimp here– it is delicious. Cooked perfectly and packed with so much flavor. The chicken fajitas are delicious as well– tons of juicy chicken with veggies. Love eating here when I’m in town.

Uncooked taco meat, manager that wouldn’t come to my table and the fact I paid $ 13 for rice and beans because the food was inedible and they chose to lose a faithful customer instead of comping a meal… eat there if you want to risk food poisoning

If you like bland flavorless food you might enjoy eating here. Not authentic in any way. I can’t even consider out tex mex really just bad food in general.

I would consider this place to be average. Nothing special but nothing disgusting either… I for sure have had better Mexican food. Their menu has a lot to offer, which is a good thing… a little something for everyone I guess. My favorite part of the meal was the chips and salsa. Our waitress was very slow and we waited a long time for our ticket. I did think that the food was a tad overpriced. My boyfriend ordered fajitas and for $ 12.99, they only give you a side of beans and no rice? Most Mexican restaurants give you both? I don’t think I will be back. There are much better restaurants in the area.

Sunday morning about 11 am. I had the Carne Guisada which was without flavor. Don’t waste your time. Service was horrible. It took her forever to take our order. Once she came for drinks and left we kicked ourselves for not ordering then because she vanished. Food prep time was great. Not long wait at all. Waitress dropped off food and was never seen until the bill came. Hot sauce is mostly tomato sauce and not spicy at all. Son had fajitas and they didn’t come with shredded cheese. Had to track down a waitress for cheese. Overall the food was average(based upon several times eating there) and was a 3 but the service really was so bad it brings it down to a 2. Not great parking lot either and they do not have a large waiting area. It can get packed waiting for a table. There are better places to eat in Lubbock.

Compared to Southern California Mexican food, this place is as close as it gets. The first place here in town that knew the difference between Carne Asada and Carne Guisada. Carne Asada quesadilla was really good as were the asada street tacos. Chips and salsa left something to be desired, but wasn’t horrible. Excellent service, even midday Sunday. Tortillas tasted hand made. Since we are unable to find a taco truck here in town, we will be going here from now on.

Very busy during lunch on Sunday but the service is still quick once you’re seated. I didn’t care for their salsa because I found it watery. I like my salsa thicker with chunks of jalapeño and tomatoes. The dishes are very good though.

I have often eaten here with my family, and we all enjoy it. The food is excellent and served in large portions. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that a homeless man approached my husband after the last time we ate here on a week night. But this isn’t the restaurants fault, this kind of thing unfortunately happens all over Lubbock these days. One has to be careful.

Best big Mexican breakfast you can find anywhere. I look forward to visiting Lubbock, more for the Taqueria Jalisco than my «in-laws». Give up the diet and enjoy the fresh flour tortillas and the huevos rancheros! House made chorizo is excellent. Warm salsa is fab.

Decent food, great service. It was busy for a Wednesday night! I would def come back, but would have to really be in the mood for it. Location leaves some to be desired, and was a bit dingy outside.

Visited Lubbock and this place was recommended by the locals. I had two cheese enchiladas — one with red sauce and one with green sauce. Although I would have liked more sauce on them, they were delicious. My husband ordered carnitas and he said it was good. The service was fast and we were not ignored. We are from CA and this is a different style — so keeping that in mind — order and enjoy. The locals eat here and they love it.

We’ve been searching for a good Mexican restaurant in Lubbock since our son moved here for school. We finally found it with Taqueria Jalisco. Everything is good-chips, guacamole and the sauces are authentic, not Tex Mex. I had number 37, tamales and bistec ranchero, a spicy tender meat sauce. Delicious. Why eat other Mexican places in Lubbock when this is the best!

Very delicious and great service! I always first judge a Mexican place based on their chips and salsa. And let me tell you, they passed. Good flavor, free refills, and immediately brought out two large cups of salsa. I had the chicken enchiladas(#12) with green sauce. The sauce was awesome and the chicken was well seasoned and flavorful! Will return.
