I love this fresh Mexican food. It is kind of tricky since they just moved their location to inside of The Arrogant Texan. They are owned by the same people and recently merged the two restaurants, while keeping everything from both menus and even making some new fusion items.
The Arrogant Texas has BBQ, so some menu items are a Mexican food/​BBQ fusion. For example: Brisket Nachos.
Back to Sazon. I love their sauces. They have a fresh salsa and sauce bar that is complimentary. I am not a fan of any tomatoes at all so I can’t rate their pico or salsa. I can however rave about their guaco-​loco sauce! It is a spicy guacamole tomatillo sauce that compliments anything! I love the small town feel of this establishment and feel happy and satisfied every time I come here.
Also! They close at 3pm!!!

Went there yesterday. They have moved down the street and joined with the Arrogant Texan. I was really excited after reading the other reviews. Boy, it was not what I expected. The food was okay. I could have gotten a salad at McDonalds that would have been just as good and a lot bigger. I’m only 101 lbs. and I left hungry.

This is by far one of the best restaurants in Lubbock, maybe even Northern Texas but definitely the best from Dallas up. Anyways, there are only two dishes you should EVER order when arriving at Sazón: burrito or nachos. When I was going through my six year college stint back in the day, I ate here at least once a week. ¡THAT’S 312 BURRITOS!
Now I know what most of you are saying… «Chipotle is down the street blah blah blah», but let’s take the cat out of the bag for once. There’s a reason everybody calls it Shitpotle… I mean, amiright? I know it will be hard to turn most of you Shitpotle’ers, but if you just take a break from peeing out of your butt and give Sazón a try, I promise you’ll never look back.

I love love love Sazon! I tried it for the first time last week and I’ve been back 3 times since. I really love their burritos; they’re huge and for $ 8 you literally have two meals. I have tried the steak burrito and chicken burrito, so next is their famous Naked Mammoth! When you go, make sure to try their guaco loco salsa, which is guacamole-​based salsa. To die for.

This place is AMAZING! We came in from Dallas to coach a Triathlon Camp at Buffalo Springs. We stopped and ate lunch here before camp started and it was SO good! We told the owner (Lauren) that we were looking for a place to have dinner for all of our campers on Saturday night — she said she would open the restaurant for us without a fee! She was SO, SO great! I sent her a menu and she had everything set up when we got there! Everyone LOVED it! We will definitely do this for every camp from now on and eat there as much as we can when in town!

Lauren and crew did a fantastic job for our private party. You can easily see how much she cares about her business from the concern she showed for even the projector setup.
The food: fantastic sauces including queso and chipotle ranch– both addictive. Wish I could have tried em all!
They had three heavy appetizers on the warmers for our party — all fresh and delicious.
This young chef is extremely talented.
The drinks were awesome with fresh fruit (sangrias and other mixed drinks).
Overall, was very impressed and can’t wait to go back. Polar opposites of Freebirds next door.
This is great food in an unpretentious and friendly setting.

Newly renamed The Arrogant Texan. We had to order from the ice cream shop next to it. Kinda weird. Ordered the brisket and pork ribs. Brisket was good, ribs were just ok. They had a choice of sauces, some of which were quite good (the original) and some not so much.

This place is freaking delicious. Everything is fresh and they get the food out quickly. The salsa bar is great with all of the sauces being homemade. I eat here frequently and it’s one of my favorite local places in Lubbock. The staff is always friendly and helpful. On the few occasions I or some friends have had an issue with an order they’ve quickly fixed it. Highly recommended.

I finally decided to «support the local taco joint» by going to Sazon. I needed a change and a breath of fresh air. The ordering situation was a little confusing. The menu is on the side, you order and pay and then serve yourself some salsa and wait for your food. I found that the best value was probably the combo nachos. The meats were very good, as were the black beans and rice. They also have probably one of the best salsa bars (not the music scene) in town. There were two or three pretty solid salsas on there that were to my taste. I need to get back in there and try a burrito. I didn’t care for the drink sample I had.

Gross. This was the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. The grease used to cook everything was old and my mom’s and my food was terrible (chicken & steak fajitas). Out of all 6 salsas at the salsa bar, only 2 were edible. One salsa tasted like fish — nasty. The chips were stale, and the queso was runny and cold. I really hope I don’t get ill and will not be coming back.

Excellent food, but it is pricey. The place is nicely decorated, worth visiting to see the pictures of local celebrities by the front door. If you’re willing to spend a little extra, they have glass-​bottled sodas with real sugar in them (not the corn syrup we’re used to today).
