I was blown away by the amazing customer service! I found a vest the said it was half price, but it wasn’t supposed to be marked half price and the girls honored it anyway. I ended up buying more than what I came in to buy and I was really pleased with their selection!

We had a great experience! With all the snow Saturday everything was closed except this awesome place. We worked with Leighann and she was phenomenal. Extremely knowledgeable and advised we to get the best equipment that met our needs. My husband has back issues so she showed us the perfect backpack to help his back. She was very patient with us and we were so impressed with her professionalism. We plan on returning here for all our outdoor needs.

LOVEMOUNTAINHIDEAWAY. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpfully patient when you are just cruising through the store. If you ever get a chance to meet the owner while shopping you will quickly understand why his employees have the attitude that they have. Kyle, the owner, is a great guy and can give you every option for your needs. Whether it is some obscure climbing hardware(which isn’t why I visit) or rugged clothes that will serve you well he can talk you through all your options. There are a couple competitors in town, but nobody compares to what you will find here. It is a little pricey on some things, but everything they sell is made to last so I look at it as a good investment. The three reasons I visit are for Mountain Khaki pants, camping/fishing gear, or hunting gear. If you are an outdoor master, enthusiast, hobbyist, or just want to look the part you will find what you need here!

This is the best outdoor store in a 4 hour driving radius. And it’s the only outdoor store in a 4 hour driving radius, that actually has staff that knows the things they are selling. If they don’t have it, they will order it for you. They might not be able to order everything, but in this case they will tell you where you can get it. And they have a smart dog that owns this place, at least it looks like it.

Good store. The employees are full of information. They are a smaller store, so they don’t have a big selection, but I mainly go there to ask about backpacking trails or other outdoors activities. Price: overpriced(obviously) I usually go to the store to play with a product, if they have it, then order it on for alot cheaper. If I’m in a rush, I will shop there and get a few nick-nacks before a trip. I encourage any outdoor enthusiast to at least check it out. And, I’m pretty sure they’re the only people in Lubbock who carry the«5 Finger» shoes.

Mountain Hideaway is a Boy Scouts’ dream. I actually know a giant Boy Scout(meaning he is an adult now, an Eagle Scout, and still has a Scout uniform that fits) and the first time I came here was with him and his wife. And he got a discount because he is a Boy Scout — how cool is that? There are two sides of the store. One side is all about outdoors, from camping gear, to kayaks, to snow gear. The other side is lots and lots of really cute clothing and shoes. It all has an outdoorsy edge, as well as earth friendly and organic. They have super cute clothes for men, women, kids and babies. Oh, and cute stuff for dogs, too. The downside is that the prices are pretty high because of what they offer, but it is nice to know that you are supporting something good when you shop there. They also have a contest at least once a year where you enter a raffle and the prize is… a TREE! I love this place — what is offers, supports, and stands for.
