THESANGRIA! I’ve never been here for dinner(though it’s on the list), but the sangria is worth the visit. I’ve also had the crème brûlée & wow is that perfect too. This places special atmosphere, live music, sangria, & desserts make this a great place for a group of friends or a solid date night.

On a recent visit, this place still lives up to my earlier review. I really enjoy it. I only have one complaint: they need bigger tables. Trying to place all your different tapas dishes on the tiny table is a PITA. We ended up having to put our sangria pitcher under the table to make room.

My wife and I visited the McPherson Wine Tasting Room earlier in the day, and while chatting and sipping wine with Kim the owner and winemaker genius behind their great wines, we mentioned that we had wanted to go to dinner here but they were booked. Come to find out he’s married to the owner! A phone call later we had a table! The ambience is kinda shabby chic with lots of lights and gewgaws to look at. Cozy couches, cute bistro tables, a strolling(unobtrusive and delightful) guitarist. There’s a small stage area where a great jazz combo set up to play as we nibbled our tapas. We started with charred sashito peppers w/feta, and also olives & sweet, salty, spicy almonds. Yum. Then the other dishes started arriving: little meatballs, a potato and melty stacked cheese«enchilada», and onion marmalade toast. All to DIE for. We’ve eaten tapas all over the country and have had none better. Highly recommend.

Just had a delicious meal here. Atmosphere was on the upscale side of casual. We brought out children who loved every dish. I recommend the lamb pops, and meatballs. Service was great, no rush to make room.

One of the better places in Lubbock to listen to some downtempo live music and kick back. Their sangria is the best in town(and sold by the pitcher!) and they have some great tapas and other fancy bites. It’s a tad bit pricey for the portion sizes, but the food is definitely worth it. Grab the Spanish omelet(also called Tortilla, but it’s not a tortilla like the kind we throw at football games). It’s delicious and filling. We love Tuesday nights because there’s usually live music, and the sangria is often at a discount. Sometimes they charge a cover, but it’s worth it to see and support some good local talent.

Delicious food and good deal on sangria! However, the tapas(appetizer type dishes) are priced as much as an entrée for not as much food. However, the food you get will be very delicious. Worth it for a special occasion!

Great eclectic atmosphere, comfy seating arrangements, and often has a live band. Grab your date and get yourself a pitcher of sangria for an awesome, relaxing night! Tuesday nights at La Diosa are some of my and my husband’s favorite! They’ll offer $ 10 pitchers of sangria, making it an easy way to enjoy fancy stuff that I normally don’t opt in to get! Plus, their sangria is good. And one pitcher is definitely enough for 2 people! They’ll feature jazz bands or my favorite folk musicians, Andy Hedges & Andy Wilkinson. I have only ordered appetizers, tapas, or a meal a few times, and they all tasted pretty great. Portions are a bit smaller than I would like, but I understand La Diosa isn’t trying to fill you plus take home a to-go box; they make reasonable portions at the price you’d expect for a slightly fancier place/experience! As silly as it might sound, their bread basket is a great addition to your Tuesday-night, sangria-pitcher experience because it lets you munch on something, there’s a lot of it, and it’s a good price! Wait staff is really kind and helpful. Try them out for a Sunday brunch when they have a jazz band(call ahead to make sure they’re open — it lists them as closed on Unilocal right now!); brunch + mimosas + jazz makes for an awesome Sunday!

If you are looking for an intimate atmosphere this is the place. It’s great for going with a group of friends, a date, or just a relaxing evening. They usually have live music(charge a cover) but this is a very unique place. Loved the sangria and queso. Sangria was very good and inexpensive. I would definitely go back again. Menu is limited and seating is different but overall good experience.

My husband and I tried their tapas and really liked them! The next time we visit, we plan on having a designated driver(probably our daughter) take us there so we can try their sangria.

Went to the Unilocal Breakfast Club Badge event at La Diosa. It was very pleasant, and not crowded. The jazz was very soothing. Had an amuse bouche of Shishito pepper that was flavorful, not too spicy. The Olga Benedicto was a variation of Eggs Benedict, eggs poached just right, with mild, tasty crabcakes. Nice conversation with Chelsea, Molly, Jacob, and Maria. Looking forward to the next event.

I spent the early afternoon last Saturday at Llano Escatado Winery tasting many different wines and honestly becoming a bit tipsy. All that learning about wine worked up my appetite and I was recommended La Diosa to indulge in some food. La Diosa offers tapas style plates as well as entrees. I opted to try some tapas even though I was by myself… and I feel like you are supposed to share tapas… oh well. I do what I want. Sylvana’s Queso is awesome! The artichoke hearts really give it some substance and texture. I also ordered the Angelina Onion Marmalade Toast — so so tasty I liked the combination of goat cheese and marmalade and prosciutto. Overall, La Diosa has a great atmosphere with the mix matched collection of chairs and tables ranging from outdoor patio furniture to victorian style dining room pieces. The garage door gives it a bit of an ironic grunge feel, but is much appreciated during the hot temperatures that grace the lovely town of Lubbock while enjoying the live music. Side note: if there is live music there will be a cover charge… mine was $ 3

This is one of my favorite places to go when I just want to relax with friends. The atmosphere is very relaxing and laid back. Even when it’s full, it’s not too noisy and I love looking at the art and other original décor they have up. La Diosa has amazing tapas and pretty good sangria. Prices a little higher than most places we go, but I am happy to pay a little more for fabulous service and wonderful food! My only gripe is that they should expand hours!

This is where I take people who want to feel«cultured» in Lubbock. I absolutely love La Diosa. Their Sangria is AMAZING… almost as amazing as the Red Bordeaux that they sell for $ 32 by the bottle. When my friends parents came in town, I bought a bottle for them and they loved it. What I really love about La Diosa though is the environment. It is lined with art pieces, huge comfy couches to lounge in, and small tables throughout the restaurant. If you go on Friday or Saturday evenings, they often have live lounge music, which really adds to the eclectic atmosphere. The consultant winemaker there is actually Kim McPherson, who co-owns McPherson Cellars across the street. So, if you are looking for a fun ladies night out or date idea, it it really fun to go wine tasting at McPhersons cellars and then head across the street to La Diosa for an evening of tapas and sangria. When you go, make sure to experience it the Spanish-way and order several tapas to share around the table. It is not really a place that you get a single meal for yourself, but a place where you can try different things with a group of friends. If you are looking for a great starting place, the meatballs and spanish tortilla never disappoint.

Exactly the experience I was looking for! Having spent time in Spain, I tried not to have any expectations. I reviewed the menu prior to arriving. I prefer to eat Gluten Free and paleo, so pasta and cheese heavy establishments are avoided. My hosts were Claire, Sean and Victoria. We have amazing food in Columbus, OH and I wish we had a La Diosa. As a solo patron, I chose to order several tapas. Buttery Olives were melt in your mouth buttery. Albondigas de Madrid meatballs… OMG! That sauce! The final tapas was a unanimous recommendation from Victoria and Sean… Sardinas. I thought the freaking meatballs were good. These little fish melted in your mouth, so tender and tasty. If you like seafood ATALL, order these and don’t share :) The drinks. I enjoyed the Aperol Spritz and the Bella Rioja. The spritZ might become a summery rotation at my house next year. The Rioja was light and easy drinking. This place is a gem. Lucky Lubbock. Hope your local patrons appreciate your uniqueness. Muy Deliciosa

Oh my goodness this place is so cute. The food is tapas so don’t expect big portions that you’ll be packing extra of. It’s more of everyone get a tapa and them share them around the table. BEST sangria I have had and it’s 15 dollars for an entire pitcher which was the perfect amount for me and my date. Overall we spent 60 dollars which didn’t seem so bad! That included the sangrias, three tapas and a delicious bread pudding for dessert. We left feeling satisfied and not overly stuffed and sleepy. The restaurant is very cozy and colorful. We sat on couches which made our date way more comfortable and less formal. Speed of service was so quick. We went on a Wednesday. Overall we really loved this place and we’ll definitely be coming back again!

La Diosa is my go-to wine place. The $ 10 sangria pitcher on Tuesdays is a steal and tastes great! I’ve also had various red wines that are always amazing(though pricier). The queso was not as liquid as I expected but was still good. The Hearts Delight pizza was AMAZING. I had it the last time I went and will probably make it my regular food dish. I don’t always get food and when I do it’s usually dessert. I highly recommend the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake. Know that it is in the pricier end but they are both worth the splurge. Especially if you’re saving by ordering a $ 10 sangria pitcher(regularly $ 15). The live music as really fun! A friend of mine, Andy Hedges, plays regularly with Andy Wilkinson on Tuesdays and I enjoy coming out to see them. Other times I have been in on Tuesdays(or weekends) and the music has been so loud that I could barely think. Even when sitting in the back of the back room. The atmosphere is everything. It is so cozy and quaint. They have random racks of home décor items for sale(way more than I could afford) that I wish I could fill my house with. On busy nights I have had trouble getting attentive service in the past. It seems like they have been understaffed sometimes. Other times I think they saw a table of younger girls who weren’t dressed fancy and assumed they wouldn’t need much and would just be drinking sangria(it took an hour for him to finally come get our dinner order once). Portions of food are usually smaller than I would expect for that price. I could be full on anything but the pizza alone. It’s definitely a fun girls night or date night but I could imagine making it a regular place due solely to the price and portion difference. Definitely check it out though! You’ll have fun!

Fun and busy are two words I would use to describe this quirky wine room. With little to no knowledge of Lubbock, I was excited to learn they not only had a wine tasting room, but actual wine cellars that produce their own wine. Located in The Depot district, La Diosa is among(or what seems to be) the hip spots in The Hub City, and is evident in it’s super quirky interior with loud and eclectic décor. With a wide variety of seating from couches to bar seating, I felt accommodated instantly and chose the couch as my wine sipping locale. The space is rather large and open with high ceilings, you almost forget you’re in an intimate, charming wine room; however the super stellar service makes you feel as if you’re the only customer in the room. The server, as I mentioned, was attentive and polite, while the wine wasn’t my favorite. I believe if I took more time to navigate wine menu I would have found something more to my liking. You see, it wasn’t their fault I ordered a more lighter, sweet wine instead of my preferred full bodied wines. Indeed, the wine list is extensive and I panic-ordered a Pinot Noir(not my fave type of red). When I find myself back in Lubbock, I am definitely returning to La Diosa!

We stopped here on a long road trip between Austin and Denver and found this GEM in Lubbock of all places! We shared a few dishes between the four of us: the Angelina(hummus trio was outstanding!), Margherita pizza, and the Isabella salad. We left feeling light and satisfied, fueled for the remaining 6 hours of our journey. Plus the young waitress made an origami crane for our son!

When I mentioned that I did not receive a plate or a real set of silverware(my group each received 1 fork with 1 paper napkin but were still charged gratuity and a cover charge), the server yelled in my face, «Kids in Africa don’t even have food!» As a frequent visitor of this bar in the past, I will never go again.

If this place could be judged solely for its wine bar atmosphere it would so deserve the 5 stars, but unfortunately I found this place ranked as the #1 restaurant and for that I have to take issue. I was lured in thinking I could enjoy a nice mediterranean or spanish diner, and I was upset only to find out they offer small shareable plates. So what did I think of the $ 14 dollar sandwich and $ 6 salad? Well — the salad kinda sucked, and the half sandwich was delicious just overpriced. Combine my expensive small portions with no beer and I just wish I wasn’t to embarrassed to have left after looking over menu. My daughter has visited with nothing but rave reviews, so I think its all a matter of what your expectations are.
