The donuts were decent, but I was SUPER disappointed in the sausage rolls. They don’t use sausage, they use HOTDOGS. Seriously? Call it a hot dog roll, make it known, my goodness. If you are a transplant from the south who is delighted to see the Daylight Donuts brand name beaming at you from the big marquis sign, you will be sorely disappointed if you are seeking the sausagey goodness that Daylight Donuts sells in south Georgia(which is by definition, actual sausage). I could not have been more disappointed, I was really looking forward to living in a town with a D.D. once again but I will never be on board with a hot dog for breakfast.

I’m a kolache lover and Daylight Donuts has the BEST kolaches I’ve ever had. They have regular and spicy with cheese kolaches. The kolaches are smaller than most places I’ve been to but that just means you buy more! If you stop here, I promise you will not be disappointed. The breading is absolutely delicious. This place doesn’t mess around with kolache perfection.

Delicious! Picked up an assorted dozen for my coworkers. Drive thru was efficient, staff was super friendly, and the donuts were fresh and delicious. Will absolutely come back here again!

Lived in Lubbock 57 yrs. Donuts almost every weekend was Mom and Dads special treat for us kids. *Miss you* I know for sure this is an old family operation that’s been handed down since the early sixties. A sweet elderly couple that served up wonderful warm round bites of perfection to us kids in Monterey Center. Far and away the best donuts in town. There is a difference in product from one Daylight Donut Shop franchise and another here in town. I never go anywhere else.

In town to visit family and decided to grab some donuts. This place was close but we hadn’t ever been in. I’m not a fan of the other donut chain here in town so we figured we would try this one. First off, friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered in a donut shop. I always laugh at the irony that early morning donut businesses never seem to be friendly morning people. This is NOT the case here. Even though it was later on a Saturday there were still lots of options left and everyone was able to order what they wanted. Will definitely return here when I’m in town again.

This morning was my first visit to Daylight Donut Kitchen and I couldn’t be happier! I ordered a half dozen of the spicy sausage and cheese kolaches. They look a little different than most. They use a batter and deep fry them, instead of bread dough and baking. They were FANTASTIC! I shared with a coworker and he was amazed also! The owners were very friendly and courteous, the counter was spotless, and the atmosphere was nice. I will definitely be coming back. Will need to try the donuts next.

Great kolaches: they don’t use bread dough. But their donuts aren’t anything special.

My grandfather used to pick up donuts here when he came to town for a visit when it was the Toddle House. Very cool building, donuts are great and a bit of Lubbock history.
