After driving, walking and passing by this place a lot I decided to walk in and get a latte. The coffee shop is very clean and well organized! I walked in on a Thursday morning and I was the only costumer there. The guys that made my latte was very nice and attentive(loving it already). The latte was delicious and I paired it with three macaroons and it was a match made in heaven!(Loving it even more). When I was done the guy, who I wish I would had asked for his name, even took a second to ask me how was the latte and to have a great day(Loving way more) and at the same time someone came from the«back office» and I will assume he was the manager or owner because he was wearing a blazer(that detail sold me because it only shows that he dresses to impress even if it’s a small local coffee shop). I will definitely come back for that latte and macaroons again. The negative: they don’t have many treats to choose from, there was like 4 – 5 kinds of dessert. The parking space is extremely limited!

Between the incredibly friendly and conversational service, beautiful atmosphere, comfortable seating, and great coffee and snacks, this place is a great addition for Lowell. It’s nice to see an original style like this in a café. We have plenty of the standard hipster places around here, and it’s refreshing to see the beautiful artwork and open design of the Elephant Angkor Café.

Always a friendly staff to greet you when you walk in and the coffee is just amazing. My personal favorite is iced hazelnut.

I also have been waiting for them to open and I finally had a chance to try it out this morning. Let’s just say I’m very pleased with the coffee and I will be back!

I have been waiting for this place to open for months! I finally went in this morning and it was everything is been hoping for! I asked to be surprised, and got a delicious brownie flavored iced coffee! My husband(not a coffee drinker) got cocoa was delicious! We also got some muffins which were better than Panera! The atmosphere was so beautiful and relaxing. I look forward to coming in on a bad weather day and hunkering down with a good book and my computer! They don’t have a ton of selection right now, but I suspect that is simply because they have only JUST opened. It was a great and personal experience. Everything was done right even if it meant waiting an extra minute. I can’t wait to go back!

Lowell has been a multicultural melting pot for generations, and this new addition to the community only serves to reinforce that fact. Located right in the middle of corporate giants right off the Lowell Connector, Elephant Angkor Café represents more than just the clash between big business and mom and pop establishments. It represents a drop of culture in a world where work and life have become homogenized/standardized/boring. I don’t pretend to be a coffee connoisseur, but I was able to try some unique coffee flavors from Mondulkiri(Indigenous Cambodian people). There are three roasts from Cambodia, and three roasts from the usual places(Indonesia, Columbia, Guatamala). At this time they only offer hot/iced coffee. Being Vietnamese, I naively assumed they had Viet Iced Coffee … they do not at this time, but they have considered it. They have the usual assortment of pastries(cookies, muffins, coffee cake, etc.) but plan to experiment with some asian pastries in the future. They do have some asian desserts, and a selection of healthy snacks as well. Breakfast sandwiches are unavailable at this time, but should be implemented soon when they start opening at 5am. Atmosphere is what stands out the most to me. Located slightly higher than their competitors, this is a great spot for people watching and relaxing. Everything here is tastefully decorated(did I mention the owners formally owned the bridal boutique that used to be here?). I say tastefully decorated because it’s easy to be tacky, easy to over-decorate, easy to go for generic furniture, easy to put that ugly ‘chopsticks font’(American equivalent of Comic Sans) on everything. Everything here is nicely themed to reflect the different tones of coffee while tastefully representing Cambodian culture. Perfect for coffee dates. Before you go to work tomorrow, skip the drive through. Skip the $ 1-any-size-you-want-flavored-water. Take the time you would have been waiting in your car, and stop in to relax at the Elephant Angkor Café. I promise you, it’s the different point of view you’ve been waiting for but didn’t know you needed. [Vietnamese ice coffee. Branded cups. Catering options(large batch of coffee for corporate functions). Frequent coffee card(buy 5, get 1 free). Community bulletin board. ]
