Went with my sexy wife for Sunday Brunch. Came in at 12:30 the place was quit and clean. My wife has been here before at the hotel she use to steal the wifi and use the printer all that is free. So she said the Brussels sprouts are really good. Also the candy cane hot chocolate is good sadly both were not on today’s Menu. Parking is plentiful. Sat next to the Windows looking over the rushing waterfall. The food was tasteful and prices just right. The server Mikey was nice and made a killer Bloody Mary. The restaurant is small and can at most sit 50 people. It’s a must if your a guest in the hotel or live close by. I did have a small issue with my dish but our server and the back of the house fixed it pretty quickly and made me happy. They also only have pork meat that both my wife and I don’t eat.- FYI

Decided to have brnch here last Sunday, it was very disappointing to say the least. The space is beautiful and had potential, but the service was horrendous and the food was cold and bland. We were the only party their at 10 am which you would think would make their job simple, but no. I ordered tea and the waitress instructed me to go to the lobby and get it myself. Stay away for brunch… maybe their dinner service is better but don’t set your hopes too high.

Nothing Special — Which explains why it was empty on a Saturday night. We chose 50 Warren for dinner because it was close to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. It’s located inside the UMass Inn and conference center. Service was extremely slow and unorganized for only there being only 3 tables and itch people. We ordered one of their specialty drinks they had ran out of the apricot brandy and instead of telling us — they substituted other ingredients giving us a drink that was not quite as expected. Short rib taco app was good but the Roasted tomato soup no different than a can of Progresso. My capellini came out cold and dry missing the focaccia bread(also ran out). My husband’s fishing chips were decent and hot so I nibbled on his. With all the other good restaurants in Lowell I think you can skip this one.

We’ve been to Lowell twice in the past few months for work and found 50 Warren through Open Table. Both times were great experiences. Service was just the right amount of attentive and the food was great. Highlights were a new to us red wine, the scallops, the capellini, and the homemade potato chips. We were concerned that no one else was there, but we don’t understand why that would be the case given our experiences. They provided a great value for the amount we paid and next time we’re in the area i’m sure we will return.

Despite having read mixed reviews across several sites, my wife and I and another couple went here for dinner. The other couple had previously been to the restaurant and had a good meal. Our experience this time was a lot different. The place has the possibility of potential, it has a nice location and the food and drink was good for the food that did eventually come. We wound up waiting at least 20 minutes for our drinks, and an hour to get our appetizers. Despite us indicating that we had a hard deadline(for a play 5 minutes away), giving ourselves an hour and a half for dinner, the entrée’s still had not arrived an hour and 20 minutes in. After asking our waitress where the food was, it looked like our entrees were still nowhere to be seen. This was the first time I had to literally walk out of a restaurant because the kitchen just could not get the food out. If you do go, please bring plenty of patience, and good friends to share the experience, whatever it may be.

I attended the special wine pairing dinner last night, Thursday, January 24th featuring the wines of the Wente Vineyards. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were served a four course, prix-fixed menu: The First Course was a Leek and Potato Soup Salt Cod Fritter & a 2011 Wente Riverbank Riesling– delicious. Followed by the Second Course which was fabulous, a Gulf Marine Shrimp, Atlantic Scallops Ceviche, on a bed of Avocado, Tomato and Micro greens with a Lemon & Lime Vinaigrette and a glass of the 2010 Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay. I’m not a huge fan of chardonnay, but this was drinkable. The Third Course was my favorite. A Charred Skirt Steak served with a Chimichurri Sauce Baked Plantain«Queso Fresco.» The steak was cooked perfectly. The plantain was presented well but needed some help. The 2010 Wente Double Decker Red Blend was a perfect pairing. Lastly we were served a Colombian Coffee Flan Crunchy Cookie that was done to perfection. All of this for only $ 40 per person. Well worth it and looking forward to attending again. After dinner we headed into the fireside lounge for a night cap. I love it in there. Brandi and Amy are wonderful. Everything was excellent and I will be back! Soon.

50 Warren a small restaurant within the UMass Lowell Inn and Conference Center. I’d read many lack luster reviews for this place on other sites, but having purchased a discounted Gift Certificate my wife and I decided to give it a shot for lunch. We arrived around 12:30 on a Friday. The place was empty(literally) when we got there, and there was no wait staff visible. We turned around to see a small bar. The bartender walked over and seated us along the window. Once seated she took our drink order, which was two Diet Cokes. The menu had a slightly pretentious flare with offerings such as «Marinated Teres Major Beef Tips» and«Handcrafted Sirloin Burger with Cave Aged Cheddar.» I couldn’t help but think that Marty Meehan(Chancellor of UML) was personally involved in putting this menu together.(Sorry… I digress.) Looking past that, the menu, while short, had numerous choices that peeked my interest. My wife decided on the Lobster Roll, and I ordered the«Handcrafted Sirloin Burger.» As we waited for our food we sipped on our Diet Cokes(which were flat), and took in the view of Downtown Lowell. About 15 minutes later our food arrived, and the food looked quite good. My wife’s Lobster Roll was VERY large. The lobster meat was mixed with a little mayo — perfect, and served on a grilled roll which was larger than the standard hot dog roll that many places use. My burger was came just the way I ordered it, medium-rare, with hand cut fries. Overall we were both very happy with our meals. Despite the fact that we were the only party in the restaurant, service was still slow. Our drinks came in small glasses(your typical hotel water goblet — 8 ounces?), so it didn’t take much to find your glass empty. My drink was empty about half way through my meal, and I think it was about 15 minutes before I saw the waitress to order another. And after finishing our meal it probably took 15 — 20 minutes to pay the bill. Given all the bad reviews, my expectations going in were quite low, but my experience didn’t really line up with reviews. This is one of those reviews that I really wish Unilocal gave you the ability to give 3 ½ stars. This place isn’t likely to be part of the regular rotation for my wife and I, but the food was good enough that we will probably end up here again when were not up for the Beer Works.
