Roberts Heating and Air

CALL ANYONE ELSE FIRST.
I have recently sunk quite a bit of money into repairs on my A/​C Unit, so I know it was running like a champ, up until the other day. I noticed it was cooling, but not seemingly as awesome as it had been the previous year. The last technician from another company (who was too busy to come do the maintenance as soon as I would have liked) said with regular maintenance, I’d easily be able to get a couple more summers out of it.
My roommate had been downstairs the previous day, while the A/​C was running, to change out the Furnace Filter. No reported issues.
I turned the A/​C unit on about an hour before the arrival of the technician, just to get it going and pre-​empt his visit.
The technician came inside, went downstairs, and reported water «flooding» in the basement. There was about two gallons of water on the floor. He said «there is a leak in the system somewhere, but I won’t be able to find it without XYX diagnostic equipment and that gets expensive. You will need a new unit.
No. Just no. I’m getting a second opinion. There’s no way two gallons of water seeped across an entire basement floor from having the A/​C on for one hour… I will update this when we find out the diagnosis.

My husband and I had them come out to do a furnace cleaning and they left telling us we needed a new heater and we were gonna have Co2 in our house. We instantly called out the gas company to come out and check levels in the house (although we have alarms) just as a extra safety precaution. There was a 0% reading for Co2! We also had another heating and air company come out to evaluate our heater and they said no such thing and said the heater was working great. I was in such a panic the day Roberts heating and air came, especially after hearing Co2 I almost paid $ 4000 for a heater I didn’t need. They kept telling me I could get 0% financing which Im sure there was a promotion going on and they would benefit from us doing so. Thankfully my husband was able to talk to them and realized they were making things up to get us to buy a new heater. We will never have them back in our home and unless you know something about heaters/​air conditioning to know when they are untruthful, you shouldn’t either!!!

I am giving them a one-​star rating because they won’t stop calling me, even after I’ve told them I sold my house, so I don’t need their service! They continue to leave messages about «some work done recently»…it was probably 5 or 6 years ago! STOP CALLING ME!
