I’ve been to Café Athens multiple times. I love their pitas and hummus. I always get the traditional gyro, no complaints from me. My husband always seems to get the lamb kebabs. The prices are very reasonable. I should branch out more and try other things on their menu, but I go there when I’m wanting a gyro. I will keep coming back.

This used to be our favorite spot for once-a-week takeout. Y-Vonne and Deirdre were always friendly and professional and the food was consistently great. Stopped by tonight got a server who barely spoke English. I slowly and specifically ordered a breakfast gyro and a hot and spicy gyro. He brought out one hot and spicy breakfast. I explained to him that I wanted one of each and pointed to each one of the menu. He said he understood and that he would get it fixed. I got home and ended up with nothing even close to what I ordered. I called and asked for a manager, and was told that one wouldn’t be in until Wednesday, and that he would be pretty busy, so it might take him a while to respond. I’m very rarely one to complain or send food back, but this was unacceptable.

The food here is wonderful, very comparable to Garbanzos but more authentic. The café is set up nicely and in a great location.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is authentic Greek! Great quality and absolutely delicious!!! I have looked all over the U.S. And have not eaten Greek food that would measure up besides in Greece. YUM! Gyros are the best and you HAVE to order the galo pie for dessert!

This place is always good and anything I have ever ordered is consistently very good. The staff is friendly. The location is a bummer, in my opinion, as it is hard to find and they don’t have enough store front presence for others to find. Great for a low key lunch or dinner. Ouzo is good!

I have been to this place too many times to count. It never disappoints. Get the Gyro value meal with fries and drink. You will love it! The Gyros are big and flavorful and crisp, hot fries are the best I’ve had anywhere. The service is always quick and prices low. There’s even a coupon in your value pac coupons you get in the mail which always saves me a few bucks. It’s hard for us to go anywhere else when we are out at Centerra. If you haven’t been, you need to go! Period.

Had a few issues with some takeout orders missing things, as well as not removing items from the order when I request it(i.e. no onions or things like that). Overall good food for a reasonable price.

Good Greek food for good prices. Probably not entirely house made, but a great gyro with a side and drink lunch deal for $ 10. Good service.

Best pita bread we’ve ever had! Their homemade hummus is worth the trip from anywhere. Excellent service.

I stopped here hoping to find something new and different. I admit that I do not know Greek food well, and thus did not really know what to expect. Ultimately, my experience was just ok. The restaurant was clean and bright. Plenty of room and a pleasant atmosphere. The food failed to blow my mind and did little to inspire me to rave about it. I did enjoy the flavor, but just. The true saving grace was the service. My waitress was very friendly and was more than willing to explain selections. She alone added a star to my review. Would I eat here again? In all honesty, I doubt it. With so many choices and varieties close by, this restaurant just gets lost in the crowd.

Went in because I was treating my mom to a surprise and I heard their gyros are great. She loves gyros and so I got the chicken gyros which was good but then I tried the lamb gyros and it was phenomenal. We were seated quickly. Environment was decent and the waiter was excellent. It is a bit more pricey but their fries and lamb gyros are worth it.

I’ve been here quite a few times and while most of the workers are friendly and the location is close, I can only give three stars. The reason? Every time I eat here I get a terrible stomach ache. I’ve ordered several items off the menu too. Haven’t been here in a few months and I don’t plan on going back.

I feel that their service and quality of food is diminishing, so I removed a star. The reason for the removal of the other star is because of the women’s bathroom. It is never clean, the toilet doesn’t flush properly and they don’t have a changing table for my LO. When we first visited Café Athens I thought sometimes it takes awhile for a new tenant to work out the details(like repairing the toilet). But after 2 years and the same problems exist, I don’t think its worth the five stars I originally offered.

I’m updating this based on a meal I received recently. The gyro meat that I received does not look like meat, and much of it is burnt. It’s clear that the chef decided to give me all of the last scraps of the meat, but most of it is better off in the garbage. I’m not sure if I’ll go back after this bad experience(which I’d rate as a 1 or 2). Leaving this as a 3 due to my other experiences. But if the owner sees this, please talk to your cooks about this. If they give out scraps, please at least balance it out with fresh meat. It’s pretty disgusting.

Came here on a Saturday evening about 5pm. I ordered the olive vegetarian pizza. My wife ordered the falafel gyro. The vegetarian pizza had ten times more processed, crappy mozzarella cheese piled on top off it than necessary. We picked 99 percent of it off before we ate pizza. When we were done, there was a pile of cheese left on the plate about 4 inches high and 8 inches around, gross. My wife said her falafel gyro tasted processed and stale. She ate less than half of it. Everything we had tasted microwaved and it was way overpriced. Nothing fresh here. How anyone can give this place 5 stars blows my mind.(Typical food hell in Colorado) Pros: They have a bar. It’s clean. Cons: Food is just plain nasty(Processed and tasted microwaved). Wwwaaaayyy overpriced. Service is just so-so, but on par with the majority of restaurants in Colorado. I would call this the McDonald’s of Greek food.

This is by far the best chicken gyro I’ve ever had. The pita is amazing, fresh, warm, soft. The chicken is amazing, juicy, tender, flavorful. Yum. The falafel is quite possibly the worst I’ve ever had. Hard as a rock, not a great flavor, but luckily the gyro was awesome enough to make up for it.

I paid $ 12 for the chicken platter. I’m 99.9% sure that the chicken is from Sam’s. Mixed veggies are frozen. I only came here because of the coupon and I still find that it’s not worth it! Save yourself some money and go to Sam’s and get the same food for less. The only thing Greek about Café Athens is the soundtrack from my Big Fat Greek Wedding that was playing overhead.

I am a fanboy of Café Athens, so my review might seem biased. I have been to both the Ft. Collins and Loveland locations probably at least 25 times combined. Café Athens is exactly what it says it is– a café. It is not super-fancy, nor does it try to be. What Athens offers is –consistently– good food. This is what I have tried so far on the menu– Gyros(hot n spicy, tzatziki, hummus), Plato’s Pie, Moussaka, Feisty Feta, Colossal Gyros, Spanakopita, Greek Quesadilla, Hummus Trio, Sampler Platter, Galo Pie) The gyros are always my «go-to» selection. Service is friendly and typically fast. Only once or twice has service been subpar. I visit during lunch or the late-lunch timeframe. I cannot comment on dinnertime. Prices aren’t abnormally steep, think $ 1 – 2 more per item than what you would expect to pay. It’s worth it. Can I comment on the authenticity? No. I can however tell you that everything here appears and tastes extremely fresh, offers something very different from your run-of-the-mill burger/tex-mex/sandwich joint, and will leave you feeling satisfied.

The meats are tender and moist. My personal favorite is the gyro platter which is basically a deconstructed gyro with the pita on the side. The fries are must and make sure to coat them in their house Greek seasoning.

Baklava! I can only comment on our experience with ordering a massive quantity of baklava ahead of time to carry out for a holiday party, but if their baklava is a harbinger for the rest of their menu and quality of their food, then I will definitely be returning to Café Athens for a proper eat-in meal the next time I’m in the area. I find that it can be difficult to get good true Greek(not Turkish) baklava from the myriad Mediterranean restaurants that one might encounter. My Greek-native father-in-law tell me that two of the best tests for a real Greek restaurant in the US are how they do their dolmades(stuffed grape leaves) and baklava, because those items tend to be the most time-consuming to make among the sea of salads, gyros, souvlaki, etc. Based on the sheer fact that Café Athens had run out of their dolmades by the time we showed up, and that their baklava was comprised of thin, crispy layers of ethereal phyllo exploding with floral honey and tiny chopped pistachios, then I’m certain the rest of their menu is a win. Our Mediterranean-themed Christmas Eve dinner was definitely finished off right by our $ 50 worth of baklava triangles!
