Walked in a few minutes ago. Had to figure out that they are upstairs so we go up a bunch of stairs and there were 2 people there. We asked the guy behind the bar if they were serving food he wasn’t sure so he went to ask the kitchen but cleaning was more important. We left I can see how successful they are #fail

I have been here a couple of times and would definitely go back for their drinks during Happy Hour. Regarding the food, I was not impressed so I would not go back for that sole purpose. It is a fun place because of all the games they have such as ping pong and air hockey. I definitely would recommend it if you want to catch a basketball game on one of their big screen TVs!

Lame! I’m visiting and was looking for a decent bar. The bar tender was lame. No buy backs by the way. 7 dollars for a beer is a little steep. Typicality this wouldn’t be an issue if I was in Manhattan. If you want a lame experience feel free to go to this bar. It’s got potential. Seating is on second floor outside. Pool tables and games. But the staff doesn’t know how to run a business. Sad. There will be another bar here in the spring I’m sure. Winter is coming guys. Learn how to treat customers before they leave and don’t come back.

Worst food I have ever had. No one in our party of 8 had a decent meal. Place was empty and service was below mediocre. Would not recommend for anyone

The Chicken Bacon Mac was good, however, the service less than extraordinary. I had to leave the main bar after five+ minutes of bartenders walking by me. I went to the small bar on the upper level. One bartender, full bar, and she acknowledged me and took my order right away. She made the difference.

I feel like if Tavern on Fourth were in the Highlands or St Matthews, it would be a massive hit. It is a huge place. Has a lot of fun games like beer pong, cornhole, ping pong, arcade games, shuffleboard, and the like. The food is decent. The drink selection is also different. 4th Street Live is just not a destination for locals. If it were, this place would be a hit. But it’s not, so it’s not. But I like it enough to give it 3*, and I’ll be back one day.

The food was decent and it seemed like a fun atmosphere. we liked the nachos and the fried pickles. Service was not great. We asked for a high top(and there was no one else in the restaurant yet) and were told no, you need to make reservations for those. We were one of two tables by the time we left.

I was a little nervous about trying this place after reading a lot of the negative reviews on here, but I have to say I had a great experience! My husband and I went here for a Thursday night date night and we had a blast. There are a lot of free games such as corn-hole, bocce ball, shuffle board, etc. and there are also some pay-for arcade style games, such as ski-ball. I had the jalapeño cucumber margarita and it was really fresh tasting, and not too sweet either. For food, we tried the lobster tacos, calamari, and brisket sliders. The lobster tacos were really good, the brisket sliders were ok, and the calamari was pretty bad(no flavor, overcooked and chewy). The service was great! The main bar upstairs was a little crowded so we went to the bar in the back, as it was less crowded. Afterward, we went out on the balcony to listen to the 4th Street Live concert. All in all, a fun little Thursday!

They told us they did not want our money and none of the people working here were willing to serve us. Never come here… Shitty dive bar

As an out of towner, this was the perfect little gem to find in Louisville. It has an abundance of games and great cocktails! Very clean with a nice ambiance and cool décor. Plenty of bars. The only thing that seems lacking is the waitstaff, whom don’t seem to really care that you are there. Waited way too long for a couple of cocktails and for the game attendant to retrieve my license when I returned the game pieces. Seems like they should just have someone constantly manning that station, seeing as how the gaming is the main draw. The games were awesome, however, and I had a good time despite(or in spite of) the terrible service. There is basketball and bowling downstairs. Upstairs boasts bocce ball, beer pong, shuffle board, ping pong, corn hole, pool tables, and a giant Battle Ship game that you play WITHSHOTS. If not for the terrible service, this place would definitely get 5 stars!!!

My friends and I came down here after an evening at 8up. It was enjoyable. The bartenders are friendly and there are a lot of games to play. If you love beer pong, I don’t recommend playing here. The cups are super heavy and the cup spots are so spaced out… Not fun! They have corn-hole and pretty much every other game you can think of which allows a big group to do what they please. They also have an outdoor balcony with nice seating to enjoy people watching in 4th street.

Tavern on Fourth is a fun, cool, unique place to come for drinks. The concept of this bar is something I haven’t seen anywhere else in Louisville — it’s game central. There’s beer pong, cornhole, pool, ping pong, bocce ball, air hockey, arcade games, etc. They have so many games, it would be impossible not to have fun here. I like the idea of playing games while you enjoy your cocktails, instead of just sitting at a bar all night(you can do that anywhere). Tavern has a really fun atmosphere. I’ve also dined here on several occasions. Tavern is located directly under my office, but they’re only open for lunch on Fri-Sat-Sun, so I’ve only dined here a few times. I fell in love with the Chicken Apple Blue Cheese wrap on my first visit, so I haven’t tried much else. The wrap is fresh and delicious. The menu has a variety of options. I’ve heard the burgers are great, so I’m looking forward to trying one. The food seems to be a step up from your typical bar food.

The place itself is really cool and it’s essentially a Chuck-E-Cheese but with drinking games… and for adults, of course. This awesome fact alone does not make up for the crappy service and inflated drink prices. Standing at the bar doesn’t warrant service even with a fat wad of cash or a fancy-ass Amex. The staff seems clueless on drink recommendations, and some of their drinks just flat out taste like barf. I’d recommend finding a college party by the campus to enjoy the same great drinking games at a cheaper cost.

After going back to The Tavern a few times for cocktails and games I had to give an update and an extra star. In my previous review I mentioned that the drinks were a bit pricey, but now I can say that isn’t the case. My husband and I went twice over the holidays and I had a great house pinot grigio for $ 4 a glass and he had craft draft beer for $ 4 – 5 per pint. Not bad at all. The bartenders were friendly– my fav is Jason-and the service was good. My only warning– if you are playing games and sit your drink on the table beside you– be aware of the guys cleaning off tables. I had a half glass of wine taken away twice. The bartenders gladly poured me anouther glass at no charge.

The chicken tenders are amazing! I assume they are what cheese curds are to WISCONSIN. Just delicious. Our bartender was also great and made sure we had everything we needed. But overall this place was pretty empty. This is a big space, but even if it wasn’t, I feel like not a lot of people come here. They have a bunch of games to play, which is pretty cool when you drink enough that your confident in kicking your boyfriends butt in yard games ;)

This is a cool bar– probably more so if you are a college student, but I was still impressed. It’s a huge space, with very modern feel. We only went for drinks and there are a lot of cocktail/drink options. The best part is all the games! Giant battleship, cornhole, shuffle board, beer pong, and more! There is a fair amount if balcony space overlooking 4th street live. Definitely a good place to hang out with friends.

Tavern on Fourth is definitely a fun place to come hang out with friends. They have tons of games including ping pong, air hockey, shuffleboard, beer pong, cornhole, etc. They have a large menu with plenty of appetizers, cocktails, and beers to choose from. The service has always been great, even when I was in with a group of more than ten people.

Bottom Line: Cool place to have some drinks and hang out with friends. Go eat somewhere else. The Food: The menu was very limited and the food was below average. We ordered wraps, a burger and a buffalo chicken sandwich. None of them were very good. The tater tots were the best thing we ate. The Place: This seems like it could be a fun place for a night out. Inside the bar they have pool tables, corn hole, foosball, ping-pong, sawdust bowling and a small arcade. There was also a nice balcony overlooking Fourth Street. There was limited seating on the patio but it could be an amazing place to watch a concert or people watch on a busy night. The Staff: I don’t want to bash the staff because they did a good job. At the same time, no one really went the extra mile or seemed too enthusiastic about customer service.

Adam was our server– he was great. A group of four ladies stopped in for dinner and drinks before heading to a concert downtown. Although it was around 6 on a Saturday night this place was pretty empty. I have to say that after eating the food I can see why. No one in my party really enjoyed their food aside from the beer cheese dip and pretzels. Buns for burgers seemed stale, burgers were«overcooked hockey pucks»(according to my friends) and the lobster taco was a little rubbery(but shame on me for ordering a seafood dish in the heart of the Midwest!). Luckily this place has a check-in deal with Unilocal so you can at least score a discount on your food. So what this place place lacks in good food, it makes up for in yummy drinks and friendly service. We really enjoyed our waiter, because he was quick to offer refills and keep the drinks coming. Food: 2 stars, Service: 5 stars, location: 4 stars This places comes out to 4 stars.
