Summer Shade Soap Company

I was looking for a more eco-​friendly and locally sustainable laundry detergent than the commercially available brands. Since the Summer Shade Soap Company operates a booth at the Bardstown Road Farmers Market and is a member of LIBA (The Louisville Independent Business Alliance), and therefore a bona fide local small business, I decided to give their laundry butter a try.
I am very glad that I did. The laundry butter does an excellent job cleaning my clothes and the lavender provides a pleasant, but not overwhelming scent to the laundry. The laundry butter also lasts for a long time, which translates to good value for the money. I would definitely recommend shopping at the Summer Shade Soap Company for anyone looking for a more environmentally responsible way to do laundry and the fact that you would be helping a local business and our community is icing on the cake.

I was first introduced to Summer Shade with their dog soap. My dogs have really sensitive skin and I tried their soaps hoping to find some relief for them. The dog soap did wonders for our dogs and 1 bar lasted us through at least 4 washings with double applications each time.
Since using the dog soap, I have gone on to use the salt scrubs, lotions, human soaps, and even the shampoo bar. These products are amazing. They use only high-​quality (all-​natural & vegan) ingredients and it truly shows through in the products.
