Sonic Drive-In

Thought it would be a quick pop by for lunch. They had a great $ 5 deal that seemed reasonable and it’s a short drive from the office. Sat at the speaker for almost 3minutes before being greeted, then waited almost 20min behind 1 car. I don’t have high expectations for fast food, you get what you pay for, but people need to know that you shouldn’t come here in a time crunch
Update: finally got to the window and they gave me an extra tater tot and upgraded my drink for my wait. That’s the only reason for the second star

We love Sonic, and are always looking for a cheap drink from 2– 4. I have been here twice, and both times I believe I waited the entire 2 hours to get 2 drinks. 6 of the servers were out cleaning the signs that didn’t work while one person took forever to serve 4 cars. But seriously, it took 25 minutes to get our 2 drinks. That’s sad. Don’t go here.

I feel weird reviewing a Sonic (or any fast food restaurant chain for that matter), but here I am. I’ve gone to this Sonic off and on over the years. When I was an undergraduate student at the nearby University of Louisville, my roommate and I would frequently stop by for «happy hour» to get their delicious slushes. Healthy? No. Cheap and yummy? Yes. It’s a good stop for a dessert or drinks (Limeades… and their pellet ice in general is always good for just a cup of ice!), and the food is fast food… and probably not my favorite or the best. Sonic does have some items you may not find at your McDonald’s, etc. though (hot dogs, tater tots). The real struggle with this location service. Last time I went, I went through the drive thru (They also have the pull up slots for the old feel.), they wouldn’t answer me, and I had to drive back around to try to get some service. It felt like I was getting punk’d. It always seems short staffed too (and maybe it is). Anyway, there are clearly better places to go, but I will still get a hankering for a slush from time to time, and happy hour (2 to 4 pm on weekdays, I believe, for 50% off drinks) is good time to visit.

it seemed every slot had a broken speaker, so we had difficulty ordering. had to go to 4 stalls… and that was only because the drive through was broken.
ordered a slush. it was sickly sweet. took three sips and threw it out.
no thanks.
