The things are nice sometimes but… The women that work there aren’t friendly. Guess they don’t have to be? Their huge dogs are friendlier than those people. Maybe they were just grouchy because they had to wait to eat while they sold their hippie linen clothes to a woman who was worth speaking to. Good thing they got to eat their Indian food that stank up the already stinky incense establishment.

I love this little shop. A lot of it is vintage and hand made items. If you’re on Frankfort and looking for a nifty shop I would come here.

I visited this store on «small business Saturday». Never once was I greeted by the shopkeep the entire time I was there. She was engaging the other shoppers though. Two big dogs greeted me. They were friendly. But in a store that sells clothing? I prefer no dog hair on my purchases. Allergies, ya know. The one thing that caught by eye was a gorgeous peacock scarf – without a price tag. I didn’t bother asking because you know the old adage«if you have to ask how much it costs, you can’t afford it.» If the other over priced plain scarves were indicative of how much this beautifully beaded peacock scarf would be, well, I’d never be able to afford it. Besides, I don’t really want to patronize a business that can’t even acknowledge that I walked into their establishment.

This store seems like it has a ton of potential, however I couldn’t imagine paying almost $ 100 for a shirt that came from a store that smelled as strongly of dog as this store does. I’m sure it is great to be able to take your pets to work ever day. However, I could barely stand being inside the store with the overwhelming smell of dog. I certainly wouldn’t want to take that smell home with me or give it as a gift on a brand new clothing item.

Love this store! First, the people here are so warm and friendly. My best friend just moved to the area and they gave us the BEST info on all the fun things to do in town. Also a printed list of favorite restaurants with descriptions and favorite dishes from each. Second, the puppies in the store are sweet and really relaxed. Love the puppies! I also love that the whole family is in the store, and they were all so awesome. Third, Kelly Lane dresses! Hard to find anywhere. I was absolutely surprised to find her designs in Louisville, of all places! Overall, this place has the best selection of fashion, and a room full of awesome books, gifts and cards in the back. Next time I’m in town, I will be making a visit to Sister Dragonfly, for sure!

I like to visit this store and explore all of their diverse merchandise. I just wish that they’re very cool clothes weren’t so expensive. C’est La Vie, I suppose. Nevertheless, I keep going back!

This place is cute, but really hit or miss. Sometimes, you can find amazing things here, and I’ve even convinced the owner to sell me décor before(scoring a sweet paper umbrella in the process). On the other hand, you can find really overpriced crap and awkward things(oh, hi, mouth-clasp fox wrap… how creepy of you to be here).

I really loved it. I love the fact that the store name also doubles as a top-notch Asian drag queen stage name. I love the fact that the owner brings her dogs to work. I love the fact that there’s a big azz dragonfly on the sidewalk outside the store. I love the fact that this store represents the Louisville that I know and love. I was looking for a unique gift for my mom for Christmas. I had been to all the big chain stores, seen a lot of nice stuff, picked up some great stuff, sidestepped some meh stuff. But, I still lacked that piece de resistance to make the gift giving experience complete. My friend(shout out, Jules!) told me about Sister Dragonfly. She told me that not only was it an art store, but it sold funky clothes and jewelry. It’s in Clifton, so I was betting that it was a cool place. I took Julie’s advice and headed over to Frankfort Ave. I walked in the store and I was the only customer. At times, I am very aware of myself. I am aware of my appearance, my presence and that, sometimes, that makes people feel uncomfortable. It’s true. It sucks but it’s true. That, in turn, makes me feel uncomfortable. I felt none of that in this store. The owner couldn’t have been more inviting with a tremendous… aura about her. She glows positivity. It sounds cheesy, but it’s true. The front room of her shop is adorned cool clothes, interesting tchotkes and beautiful hand-crafted original jewelry. I was all set to buy a coral bracelet when she told me to check out the back room — the art gallery. I ascended the stairs and ran smack dab into wall hanging, books, prints, posters, and mini-sculptures. Everything was unique, comforting and conversation-starting. After marveling at how bright Cesar Millian’s teeth are(they glow) on the cover of his«Git Yer Dawg Off The Couch Fer Good» book, I happened into a bundle of original and numbered watercolors on canvas. I found it. I found the perfect gift for my mom that would offer beauty, support and hope. I found it at Sister Dragonfly. I came back into the front room and told the owner why I picked what I picked. She looked at it and nodded, «This is it. This is right. It speaks to you and you know it. This is perfect.» She didn’t know me from Adam, but I appreciated her listening and adding her input to my purchase. She prettied up my carrying case, chatted me up about Lousville, Nashville and Chicago and wished me a Merry Christmas. You too, Sister Dragonfly. Merry Christmas to you, too.
