I went to Scissorhands not really knowing what I wanted, and Doug was the one that cut my hair. Fantastic is all I can say, my hair has never looked better! If you want a really good haircut go see Doug. He is great!

Doug cut my daughters hair and the whole experience was like something out of Tabithas Salon Takeover– we arrive on time, asked to be seated so he can go out front and smoke in plain sight of us, which wasn’t a HUGE deal(but still not professional), but then makes us wait another 10 – 15 minutes so he can go out front(once again in plain sight of us the customers and argue with somebody that he apparently had a personal relationship with on the sidewalk outside the salon), then came back in the salon and locked the guy out of the salon, had a few laughs with the other stylists about it then unlocked the door then instructed my daughter to go and sit in the salon chair to get her haircut. I look at the chair and it was covered in hair from his previous clients and when I pointed this out to Doug, his response was, «oh it’s fine it’s not going to hurt her». Mind you this was not a little bit of hair this chair was covered in hair clippings it was disgusting! I insisted he clean it off, so he did. Pretty much everything after that was normal the haircut was OK but I won’t be back. I definitely do not recommend the salon and I definitely do not recommend Doug!

Scissor hands is a clean, friendly, laid back salon in a convenient location. I have been having Alicia cut and color my hair for years and, believe me, I am not an easy customer. I always am looking to do something different and Alicia listens and provides her expert advice. She is creative with cuts and I have never known another to be that knowledgable about color. in fact, she’s probably the only stylist that hasn’t colored my hair red in an attempt to make it blonde! I highly recommend this establishment and her skills.

Alicia is the best stylist ever! She has always taken the time to truly understand what I am looking for and points me in the direction that works best for me personally. This summer I decided to go with some blonde/honey highlights to give my hair a sun kissed look. The highlights are the exact color I had in mind and they are blended so well. I have a short bob and the highlights are blended into my natural color so there are no hard lines making the highlights a very soft feel. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone who needs any services done!

I am officially a blonde and not by much choice. I went in wanting the ombré look were the colors faded into one another. However, I left out completely blonde except for my roots, and the top of my crown. And nothing blended. My hair went from straight black to blonde. And for whatever reason I was told to come back in two weeks to have her put more platinum in my hair and that she would not charge me anything for that. Will when I got home because the lighting in this salon is bad. I didn’t realize that one half of my hair was blonde and platinum while the other side was more of a darker/brassy blonde. So i dealt with it for 2 weeks and then went back to the salon. I told my styles to just make me blonde at this point because i could not see her fixing what damage was already done. However, she suggested to lighten the top, and add the platinum to the other side and if that didn’t work for me then i could come back in for a third time and not be charged to make me a complete blonde in which i was cool with. However, she changed me $ 80 the second time around and i don’t know why? At first it was going to be $ 60 but then it jumped to $ 80 and in my head i am thinking, why am i paying for your mistakes? Obviously, we were not on the same page because she wants to believe that because i were my hair curly that I wasn’t getting the full effects of the style. But to my point 1) i came in with not one but two pictures of the same style. 2) i told her upfront that i wore my hair curly, and 3) if she had given me what i wanted then my color would have looked good on me. I have always had a good experience at this salon. The owner has always been nice to me and my styles was sweet to me as well but i paid $ 230 for my hair color that i never asked for. You will never paid that amount at any salon in our city.

Greg is my to go guy. He is experienced and is very good at what he does. I highly recommend you clip a few photos of your favorite hairstyles, just so he knows what you’re style is. Leave the rest to Grego!

I love Scissorhands! Mona is the best! Such a great hairstylist but an even better person! Everyone is friendly, their prices are reasonable and they have great hair products! They take walk-ins, do waxing and nails. This is the only place I will get my hair done! :) As for the unhappy reviewer: I know Mona mentors her employees to be their best. I wouldn’t take the word of one unhappy customer. Go find out for yourself. They don’t let you leave unhappy so make sure to tell them what you want and what you think of the end result.

If you’re looking for someone worthy to trust your lovely locks with, Doug at Scissorhands is NOT that person. I went into Scissorhands with high expectations because I had heard wonderful things about the staff and services the provide, especially Doug. Upon sitting down in his chair, I told him what I was looking for: a quick bang trim. I wanted thick, full bangs and I wanted them a to be slightly longer than my eyebrows. What did I receive? Bangs that end way above my eyebrows and that rival he thickness and fullness of a small boy with a bowl cut. I called a few days later to see if Doug was in so that maybe he could remedy the situation a little bit and I was informed that he had already left for the day and that there’s nothing anybody can do until they grow out. I even got a chuckle from the receptionist. I’m sure awkward, short bangs are funny when they don’t have to live on your forehead and shape your face. I’m livid that I was charged $ 15 for a five minute«bowl cut» from someone so focused on anything other than their customer the they can’t follow basic instructions. If I wanted this kind of result, I’d have cut my bangs over my sink and spent that $ 15 dollars in cute headbands to cover up this atrocity. In short, avoid Scissorhands and Doug. They need to learn a few things about customer satisfaction.
