I have had sams gyros before but not at this location. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed and the quantity and quality of the food that we received. The Gyro was very blah, the meat that was on the gyro was cold and that was so salty that we both could not eat it. The only thing that was somewhat edible with the Greek salad which then again really wasn’t even a real Greek salad. Yes I will I’m aware that it’s located at the mall, so the food is not to be expected to be as fresh as it should be but is it asking too much for warm meat that is edible. I would recommend you try lunch somewhere else.

Nice little spot especially for a mall food court! Service was fantastic! Food was great! We had the gyros and fries. My 13 yr old daughter loves this place as do I!

Okay. I’m reviewing a food court shop. Me even being at the mall is a rarity, but today it happened to coincide with dinner time, and I am quite glad that it did. After looking through the limited options, And trying not to make prolonged eye contact with the food vendors who are trying to force samples into your hands, I found myself standing in front of Sam’s Gyros. I love Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food, and I’m always in the mood for falafel. And rather than eat fried chicken on a bun, fried chicken in soy sauce or a Philly cheese steak, gyros were looking pretty good. My wife has a pretty limited diet, so most of the places at the food court won’t cut it. We decided to give Sam’s a try, and we were not disappointed. First off, everything was great. The second bonus was the fact that a simple combo portion filled an entire clamshell Styrofoam box. The portions are huge! The beef was great, the chicken is OK, and I love a Greek salad. It was an amazing amount of food for the price, and everything hit our expectations with no problem. I typically avoid the mall like the plague, but Sam’s is worth going back for… Even if you’re not shopping. The guy behind the counter was super friendly, and you get to build everything the way you want it. So that’s nice, too. Next time you’re at the mall, skip the chain stores and the food that just comes off the Sysco truck, and give Sam’s a shot. Fresh and tasty!

We always order the beef gyro combo. It’s amazing. Tons of food for your money. Fresh ingredients. Staff is always friendly. Definitely worthy trying if you like gyros.

If you happen to be at St Matthews Mall and get hungry or if you have been shopping for too long and get hangry look no further! SAMS Gyro’s has you covered and then some! You watch them start with a warm flat bread on the flat top but look closely because this is the last time you will see it for a while! Why? It disappears under a mountain of meat seasoned very well bursting with flavor. You get to design how you want it toppings wise with about a dozen or so to choose from… The question is then asked if you want fries, you want to say yes! All of the orders are cooked to order and they are crispy, not greasy and when topped with the seasoned salt they compliment the Gyro perfectly! Grab a drink and your looking for a lunch that’s under $ 10! The staff is always friendly and very patient for those who are trying for their first time! It’s my now go to spot when ever I am at this mall!

5 stars for the gyro! I know I know, 5 stars for mall food court food? Yes! After I got over the heartbreaking closure of Zaytun, I searched for a new place to get a real gyro. I followed Unilocal reviews to Sam’s and almost kept driving by once I realized that it was in St Matthews Food Court. However, I was already committed at that point and decided to get it over with. First, I saw a vertical gyro spit– great start! Then I saw the menu, $ 6.99 for a gyro platter– great! Then I checked out the ingredients– tabouli, rice, olives, tomatoes, and most importantly, feta cheese– perfect! Then came the final step– taste… Nailed it! I still have many places on my radar to try, but as of now– Sam’s has the best gyro in town! I suggest that you do what I do– get it to-go, take it home and put it on a plate, and enjoy a great gyro outside of the headache known as the St Matthews Mall!

I am kind of obsessed with falafel, and was at the St. Matthews Mall. I saw this place and had to try it. I only had the falafel sandwich, and it was SOGOOD! I was so surprised because I am just visiting, and was not sure if falafel at a mall would be any good. Well, it was great. I couldn’t believe how fresh all my veggies were and the falafel really hit the spot! The two fellas there were also very nice! I will definitely go back next time I’m in Louisville.

Sam’s was absolutely delicious. I live in the east end and I was craving quick, inexpensive Mediterranean food. I am so glad I found this gem. My meal(lightly-breaded chicken, thinly-sliced beef over a TON of yellow rice pilaf, delicious, tangy tzatziki sauce, a HUGE side of hummus and pita) was under $ 10 and lasted through three meals. The two men working there were very funny and super friendly. I will be back– and soon!

Excellent gyro! Huge and cheap, $ 4.99. Very fresh ingredients. Gyro meat is carved from the spit. Delicious pita bread, tasty gyro meat, taboulleh, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, olives, banana peppers, and tazhiki sauce all on the gyro. Very surprised and impressed. We will be back.
