The place is beautiful and very Romantic, however the food is ok, it could be better for the price. The steak is over seasoned with too many spices. Last time I was there the steak I received on the 50 dollar menu tasted gamey. It was almost like they were telling me that if you order cheap you will get our steak with poor taste. Since then, we have gone to many other steak restaurants with better prices and better food. If you want a great view, this is the place to go.

Biggest disappointment :(First of all let me start by saying our waiter was great, the staff was friendly and the view was cool. I’m strictly basing my rating off of FOOD only. It was barely edible. We ordered a blue cheese salad which was decent, lobster bisque which tasted like it was from a can and 3 days old. BBQ shrimp which wasn’t deveined, crab cakes that tasted like a hand full of the ocean floor, creamed spinach had no flavor and the chocolate cake dessert that looked like it came from a box at the dollar store. The little nut/fruit chocolates were tasty though! The Bottle of wine we got was great and we ended our meal with a 3.50 black(burnt) coffee. The couple we went with ordered steaks which they only ate half of, Mac and cheese they didn’t touch and salads. They couldn’t finish their meal because they thought it was disgusting as well. I was just so bummed! It was the first time I’ve ever eaten here and I was really excited… Maybe my expectations where to high? Regardless… I feel like I know good food and this def was not. Again I feel so awful for feeling this way, but it honestly was the most ridiculously overpriced food I’ve ever had. I would have rather payed 100 dollars for a crave case at White Castle and at least enjoyed the view with a bottle of wine. Total bummer, but I’ll have to say I would never return… I’ll drive the extra 10 minutes to Jeff Rubys or Eddie Merlots from now on. Sorry Ruth’s Chris!

Ruth Chris is a great steakhouse that has awesome service. All the food is delicious. However, the atmosphere is dim and relatively quiet. I suggest the Crab Cake appetizer, a Filet entrée with Bacon Butter Brussel Sprouts and Mashed Potatoes, and for dessert try either the Bread Pudding or Crème Brûlée

Ruth’s Chris made me feel fussed over like a movie star. They have free valet parking(provided you tip, of course), a coat check, and a fabulous view. The table is semi– formally. They make sure to clean your portion of the table before each dish they serve. I was a bit confused about the entrance as it didn’t really scream restaurant — until the elevator ride ended. I got the Ruth’s Chris classic. A salad, side item, entrée and dessert for $ 55. The house salad was very good — nothing over the top, just a good house salad with the bare bones ingredients. The Mac and cheese was extremely underwhelming. I wouldn’t have it again. It was hardly cheesy or creamy and not very flavorful. Also, sort of dry on the top. The mashed potatoes and cream spinach are, on the other hand, excellent. Very creamy and flavorful. The real reason to come here? The 12 oz ribeye. It was the most tender, juicy, well-seasoned steak I’ve had in Louisville yet. The meat was so tender it was almost hard to believe it was steak! The dessert was good — the cheesecake was very tasty but the bark that came with didn’t really add much. Overall, I think it’s a fantastic steak place — however some of their other dishes have some catching up to do to compare with the steak. It was a fun experience though, and I’m sure I’ll be back again for another fantastic steak dinner.

I have been to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses in several different cities, but this was my first time at the Louisville location. It was a stormy night, so we were treated to a light show over the Louisville skyline. Gorgeous. My wife and I had the spicy lobster appetizer, iceberg wedge with Remoulade dressing, ribeye steaks, creamed spinach, shoestring fries, and two delicious desserts. A true all-out splurge. It was as good an experience as I’ve ever had at a Ruth’s. Everything was excellent, and the service was truly top notch. My wife and I can’t wait to go back!

Ruth’s Chris is a refined steak house that caters to expense account business people and as a special occasion location for Louisvillians. It’s impossible to go wrong with it’s beautiful view from atop the Kaden Tower, ultra professional wait staff and solid steak house standards. The food is good, but nothing to distinguish it from every other high-end chain steak place. We decided to go for their Thanksgiving menu. Kids living out of town provided the perfect backdrop for a reduced drama family holiday. The place was packed with groups and families celebrating. The tables were fairly close and with every possible tabletop filled it was a challenge to get into your spot. We had a lovely booth and mostly let the never-ending parade of people go past. They have a good wine list, an impressive array of cocktails, no beer on draft, but nice cold glasses and plenty of imported beers. They even sport a couple of Pappys along with a wide assortment of bourbons. I had the Kim Crawford sauvignon blanc and at $ 13 a glass it’s more than four times what I could buy retail. Go to Costco and you can get a bottle for $ 12.99. It was nice though to have several wines from which to select. The Thanksgiving menu consisted of two choices of salad and a bisque. We went with the Caesar and steak house – both were good, but tomatoes should never be served on a Caesar salad and the house salad was nothing more than various types of lettuce along with a very good blue cheese dressing. The main course – turkey, gravy, dressing and cranberry sauce also came with either mashed potatoes, creamed spinach or sweet potato casserole. We split the mashed potatoes and spinach and both were good but not distinguished. Certainly, they could have been hotter, but hey, the place was full and the staff was doing a great job. The turkey was all white meat(I prefer dark) and was totally slathered in gravy. Good gravy, but a lot of it. The cranberry relish was fabulous and was an added treat which cut into the gravy. The bread was hot and butter whipped. Surprisingly they brought out a doggy bag with fresh leftovers as an added treat. Not as much as the original portions, but a nice addition to take home for the next day – along with our own leftovers. We couldn’t squeeze in the dessert – a pumpkin cheesecake, but it was great once we got home and had a taste. We forfeited the ice cream that went with the cheesecake if served in the restaurant, but that was fine. The dessert was an uncomplicated standout. Our total bill, with tax and tip, came to $ 219 for two of us, but we did drink plenty of wine and had the finest service. There is little about which to complain, but there isn’t anything really to set it apart so it’s four stars. I found the staff to be much nicer than the other diners who were either completely out of their element or arrogant.

Best steak in Louisville compared to Eddie Merlot, Jeff Ruby, etc.(in my opinion) The service was outstanding! The sides are served family style and if you come on a special occasion they will take a picture and give you the printed picture at the end of dinner.

I wish I could review Ruth’s Chris on several different parameters, owing to the disparity of my feelings. On one hand, the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture of Kaden Tower is exquisite, and I may have ridden in the glass elevator an unnecessary number of times. The patio is delightful, though I wish it afforded a better view. The cocktails here are second to none. Every drink I downed was noteworthy, with the Blueberry Mojito being my favorite. The service was attentive, polite, and professional — some of our city’s best. The one aspect of this famous landmark that didn’t impress me was — remarkably enough — the food. The salmon was a bland analogue to salmon I’ve had a million other places, and for a fraction of the cost. The filet was better, but I’ve also had better. Given the reputation, I have to proclaim it «overrated.» The prawns were excellent. Some of the sides were too rich for me, emphasizing an over-abundance of butter and cream congruent with Kentucky’s southern tradition. Most disappointing was desert. I adore cheesecake, but the cheesecake here just tastes like cream cheese. The bread pudding drowned in a bourbon sauce that was far too abundant and sweet — and I am a person who is partial to sweet flavors. I will probably return, though not so much for the food as for the drinks and the experience.

1. This is a really cool place. It sits atop the Kaden Tower and has sweeping views of the entire area. 2. There’s outdoor seating. Are you kidding??? 16 floors up and balcony tables? Yep, they have it. 3. The wine menu is amazing. Barbera grapes from Italy? Got it. After dinner Ruby Port? Done. 4. The appetizers are delish. Spicy Lobster is a must. 5. Entrees are amazing! The only rub? The price. You can count on $ 50 steaks and lots of other high dollar items. 6. Don’t get me wrong, it’s all good, and the regular clientele are fun to observe, but this is a once a year place(maybe) for normal folk…

First visit here and it was better then I expected. Our server was Chris, Dave, and David. They were amazing they didn’t miss a beat and made our meal so enjoyable. We had a T-bone and stuffed chicken with lobster mac and cheese. Steak cooked to perfection chicken was moist. I couldn’t find anything wrong here. I’m sorry it took so long for me to visit!

Came here June 2014, and I just don’t have the words to describe how good the food was. I even have fewer words to describe how awesome the service was. We made a reservation, and I was greeted by my name when we checked into the restaurant. The steak, full sized filet mignon, was just divine. I also like the fact that it was in a very high building. It gave a wonderful viiew of the expressway. I really enjoyed this restaurant.

I was introduced to Ruth’s Chris by my husband when we first got married 10 years ago. Our first Ruth’s Chris experience was on 500 Ala Moana Blvd in Honolulu, Hawaii and we’re been lovers of Ruth’s Chris steaks ever since. I mean, we literally will not order steaks from anywhere else 98% of the time in fear that other restaurant steaks won’t compare. The steaks are truly phenomenal, the drinks are always on point and their sides are not so bad either. My favorite sides to order are: the delicious sweet potato casserole, the garlic buttery escargot, and the flavorful spinach. My favorite appetizer used to be the barbecue shrimp but now, hands down, my favorite is the spicy lobster. The spicy lobster is lightly fried & tossed in this spicy cream sauce. No I can never figure out what this cream sauce is made with but what I will say is that it’s not about the lobster or that damn sauce – it’s about the garnish, the small cucumber, pickled red onion/pepper with cilantro salad and the fresh lemon that catapults this appetizer to another level of palate happy heaven! My description will do it no justice, just try it for yourself you won’t be disappointed!

Typical«rich person resturant.» Probably the best steak in Louisville. Lamb chops are the best also. $ 8 for«water» that came from some exotic mountain in Japan? Yeah right. Some kid probably filled it up from a garden hose. Great place for a special date or something serious.

My husband and I dined at Ruth Chris for our anniversary which also happens to be valentine’s day. We both ordered medium filets that were absolutely perfect! The service and atmosphere are great and food is superb! After our meal, we were surprised with an anniversary dessert! Thank you Ruth Chris!

Came here for happy hour, which is a hell of a deal for great food, and was not disappointed. The bar was full, which is supposed to be the only place you can order off the happy hour menu, but they were generous enough to give us an open table. The zucchini fries were delicious, the steak sandwich was very good as well. Generous portions, only disappointment was I was expecting the steak to be hot like usual, but It was just room temp on the sandwich. All in all it was great, and our server Garth is a boss.

I always heard that this was a great restaurant, but I was curious to find out if what I heard was true. Well, we went here for dinner last night, and it was wonderful. Everyone was nice and the place was festively decorated for Christmas, which made the experience that much better. Pro: The staff was super nice, opened the door for us, took our coats, and sat us quickly. There was so much variety in the drink menu, I wasn’t sure what to get, so I asked the waitress if they had sangria. She brought me a tasty, sweet white wine sangria that I couldn’t find in the menu itself, and I loved it. It was worth its price, especially in the size of the glass they gave me. We had the fried lobster for appetizers, New York strip, the oscar crab cake, and blackened wild salmon. The portions were filling and appropriate for its price. Everything was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. We didn’t even really have to add any extra salt and pepper! We topped it all off with a crème brûlée, which was light with just the right amount of sweetness and served with fruit to the side. Con: It is on the expensive end, but I was expecting to spend more than I actually did, so it was a win in my opinion. The quality of the food, the staff, and the atmosphere is well worth the price.

Ate here last night with some close friends from work. Pros: The food and the timing of everything was perfect. The drinks were well made and the service was spot on. Cons: the price but well worth it in my option and make sure you have time because it is a two hour meal. I got the filet and it was perfect. I also had dessert and loved it. If you have the money go it is worth every penny.

Come to this Ruth Chris location for the view of greater Louisville… crazy beautiful. My husband and I had the price fix menu… great deal! I had the Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, filet mignon, and cheesecake, with. chocolate almond bark. The only complaint I had was the filet was a little tough… very surprising for Ruth Chris. My husband had the corn chowder, sautéed mushrooms, filet mignon with lobster, and the same dessert. He thought the filet was a little tough too. Overall, great meal… even though it is a chain.
