Our best dining experience during our week in Louisville. The revolving view, the excellent service from Danielle, the unique, well prepared and presented food(eg bone-in filet), and very nice half-price wine list on Tuesday resulted in first-rate fine dining.

This place was great. Beautiful view. Wonderful customer service. We were extremely late to our reservation and the restaurant was extra accommodating. Our server Kate/Katie was outstanding. She was pleasant and very nice. And the food was good. And so were our drinks. I was just here visiting KY but I will definitely be back when I come back to town. Thank you.

This is my favorite Sunday buffet for 2 reasons. #1 great food. All the normal breakfast fare plus some feat meets and cheeses. The lunch portions have several selection with great side dish options. They have an omelette bar and waffle bar that are fantastic. #2 Being at the top of the Galt House gives you the best views in the city. Add the fact that they have 2 revolving dining room that overlook the river and you have a winner!

Amazing service! The food was very bland… It was hard finding tasty food in Louisville. If anything you come here for the ambiance, gorgeous place. The view and spinning lounge was great, not to mention the view. The piano playing while eating and taking in the sight was something special. It was my boyfriends birthday and the gave us free desserts and chocolate. I would go back again.

Don’t expect the online menu items to be what they serve. They don’t update it and we were disappointed as many of the items we were planning to order were not available. Second, don’t expect whats on the menu they hand you to be available either. Again, had to pick alternates as they were ‘out’ of two items. Apps & salads were very good, service was average due to speed(10minutes to get drinks/refills/etc). Main courses were bland, under seasoned and overpriced for what you get. Order steaks 1 step down as they overcooked everyone’s at our table. If your looking for a view, go and have a drink, maybe an appetizer. Then go somewhere else to eat.

I have eatten here twice, once a large customer group dinner about 70 people, and then on a Sunday Brunch the weekend before the KY Derby comes to town. The brunch was crazy busy/packed, perhaps because 1 week away was the KY Derby and people already starting to get to town early? I have a feeling all their Sunday Brunch crowds are fairly large. Huge selection, great ambiance, piano player, incredible view of the city and Ohio River. Great service.

What a treat it was to eat at RIVUE on Mother’s day! I did not realize when I was making reservations that 4:30 pm on Sunday would be considered brunch. I was surprised to see a buffet but apparently they served brunch all day long until closing. The food and the post Derby atmosphere were great! We loved the salmon, filet minion, baked and mashed potato, fancy fresh salads, roasted asparagus and cauliflower, and what not. We asked our waitress what time the restaurant closed on Mother’s day and she said that they would be open as long as we wanted, but she made us feel a bit rushed. We left at around 6 pm. Overall we had a great time and we will be back.

Love everything about the Rivue! The food, the 360 rotating floor with an amazing view, and the lovely people! I hope to come back another time and eat here again!

Came here for dinner on a Monday night. Beautiful view as the restaurant — which sits on a revolving platform — overlooks downtown Louisville and the Ohio river. The hotel and restaurant’s décor is old school but doesn’t feel outdated. Great service. Delicious food. Really nice variety on the menu. We got the crispy duck and lamb bolagnese. Both were very very good. Didn’t try any of the cocktails but they looked to be stiff and fun combinations. It is expensive, but given the competition, I’d say this food is worth the top dollar.

I was taken here for a birthday surprise by my husband and friends, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s more upscale than I would have guessed, but there were some patrons in jeans and t-shirts(although I don’t think that’s the norm). I was impressed with the drinks, I had a rum based drink served in a martini glass with sweetened condensed milk and coconut flakes on the rim. It was sweet but not overpoweringly so. I had crab legs for dinner, like a ton of crab legs. They had a great flavor, but they were served ice cold, which is something I’m not used to when I eat crab. At the end of the meal, they came around with a cart full of candy and chocolate covered strawberries, and you got your choice of two. All in all, it was a very nice dinner and I’d like to go back and try one of their steaks that I heard a lot about.

We have now visited Rivue a couple more times, with the most recent being our anniversary dinner — Feb. 21st. We were seated immediately because we had a reservation & due to the restaurant being pretty empty. Our first seat was in the rotating part of the restaurant. We had initially planned to eat there, but the spinning mechanism seemed to be getting stuck causing a jerking motion. We had to move because it was making me feel ill. Our new seats had an OK view, but were right under the air vents. The restaurant was FREEZING, so it was not too enjoyable. Our order was taken pretty quickly. We skipped appetizers and went right for the main course. My husband ordered a steak with asparagus. He said it was cooked perfectly and very good. He also had the wedge salad. He said it was pretty tasty, but not worth $ 9. I had the tuna steak. It was AMAZING! For dessert we shared a white chocolate panna cotta that was also very good. All in all, the food was very good. The issues were with the actual restaurant. The first thing we saw when the elevators opened on the top floor of the Galt House were empty beers cans and glasses all over tables and floors from a wedding. The floors were dirty, walls were scratched up, and chairs were stained. There was even a small hole in the wall that had just been covered with plaster and never sanded or painted. It really took away from how grand the restaurant could be. Something else that kind of bother us where the fact that they did not seem to care what people were wearing to come in. A group of ripped jeans, t shirts, & dirty ball caps sat near us. It took away from the experience. The food was good, but the restaurant did not meet our expectations for the cost. We most likely will not be back.

Just ate there last night and it was a wonderful ambiance and delicious dinner. I ordered the farro«risotto» which had amazing creaminess to it and deliciously roasted Brussels sprouts on top. My date got a ribeye steak. He asked for it to be cooked medium, but was a little rare so he got it re-fired. For the inconvenience, we got dessert on the house in addition to the candy cart that includes chocolate-covered strawberries, chocolates and cashew brittle. Every aspect of the meal was fantastic — wonderful sunset view and lovely music from a piano player. Only downside was steep price, but worth it for a special occasion.

We came for dinner during a time when it was buffet-style, no menu to order off of. They had salad, fruit and bread — a small charcuterie board along with a small selection of cheese, a bunch of side dishes and a carving station with three meat choices. Oh and a dessert stand but I couldnt tell you about that since I really wasnt interested in dessert. The cold sides(salad, fruit, etc) were fairly basic — the charcuterie was fantastic as well as the cheeses. The carving station had turkey, ham, and what I believe was prime rib. The turkey was fantastic, and I didnt taste the ham — I was waiting for the beef, which was really popular and kept running out. My friend Ben was the only one out of us who got some, and thats only because he prefers the tough, dry end part that noone else wanted. The hot sides were quite good — there was a spaghetti squash and brussel sprout dish that was my absolute fave and I must have had three giants portions of that. The service was quite attentive for it being so hands off. The location can’t be beat — it might have the very best view of any place in Louisville. The décor though — someone is really going to have to address that. Everything is black, white and red. It looks like 1986 threw up in there and the«wacky» tablecloths(when we were there it was a black and white floral, but I have seen pics here of a zebra print too??) are just ghastly. Someone really needs to bring this place up to 2015, style-wise. Otherwise, I would recommend this place, and would be interested to come back to see how it is during a regular dinner service night.

Wow what a view. In the revolving room at the top of Galt House for Christmas. Meal was good if not spectacular, deserts were fine, service by Carl was impeccable, Galt House is one first class joint(far better than the famous Brown, although I do enjoy the bar on 4th st side of the Brown) and the view on a cold, rainy Kentucky day was fantastic. Bringing my 16 year old next time, see if she gets her jaded ass excited by all this. Me? love this place!

3 stars only for this find dining experience, driven primarily by mediocre service and overpriced food. While waiting for our table, we ordered drinks, but only after it took the bartender 5 minutes to even acknowledge us and despite the fact we were the only ones there. «Hello folks. I’ll be with you in minute» would have sufficed. Once seated the view of the Ohio river and the Louisville skyline was fantastic. The waiter forgot our bottle of wine. When we reminded him 10 – 15 minutes later, he went back to retrieve it, only to return and to tell us they were out of that particular bottle, then claimed that they had been searching for it, which is why it had taken so long. Right. Food was very good — good size portions of steak in particular, but be prepared to pay for it — the filet is $ 52 and the ribeye $ 45. Salads and soups all around $ 9 each. Great friends, combined with the view and the food made this experience enjoyable, but it could have been outstanding had the wait staff been on their game.

Just ate at Rivue. It was wonderful! Carl our waiter made the entire meal an event. From the first cocktail to the final complementary candy dish it was a meal we will remember.

Rivue has the potential to be 5 stars but I need to go back and order the filet or New York strip to make that happen. The ambiance, service and dessert were nearly worthy of 5 stars. The sparkle floors, cool restrooms and amazing view of the city are definitely 5 stars. My man«Lamar» and I went for dinner on Saturday night. We were about 30 minutes late for our reservation as we walked from the Nulu Festival and miscalculated just how far it was. The host was very accommodating and it was no problem. We were seated promptly at a nice little corner table. Right away we were impressed by the details in the room and the great riverfront view of the city– 25 floors up. We had two different servers for the evening. The first server took our drink and appetizer order right away but then seem to disappear for a bit. Not a huge deal as we are both laid back. I ordered a glass on wine and the server actually brought the bottle over for me to taste before pouring a full glass. That was a nice touch. Lamar ordered a tropical cocktail but I can’t seem to recall the name. Through the server’s recommendation we started with the scallops. They were quite good though I have had better. For entrees, we ordered the crispy duck breast and the rack of lamb. We wanted to order things from the menu we don’t cook at home or don’t typically order in a restaurant. Both entrees were perfectly prepared and well seasoned. No complaints except for the fact that duck and lamb are just not our favorite proteins. A little«gamey» for our taste. The duck was tastier than the lamb so if that is your cup of tea– go for the duck. We had our second server of the night come check on us and offer a dessert menu. We were eyeing the chocolate cake option but our server highly recommended the cheesecake. I was so glad he did as it was so delicious and a large portion– perfect for sharing with my sweetie. The server also brought out a delightful candy cart with several tasty selections– complimentary! He was very personable and we chatted with him about appetizers and entrees to order next time. He was refreshingly honest and sincere. He even gave us two free appetizers cards to use on our next visit. We will definitely be back soon.

Our anniversary, Birthday & vacation celebration was rolled into one, as we decided to try Rivue out. …and we had such an amazing experience. Although this isn’t somewhere we’d go all the time($$$ — we had a gift card which helped too), it’s definitely a place we’ll go to celebrate and have a romantic night out for 2. The salmon & steak were perfectly cooked. Scallops were tender and we couldn’t get enough. Wine was on sale … So of course I enjoyed a bottle. And the chocolate candy cart was an awesome touch. David, our server, was energetic and made us feel more than comfortable. Never pushy. But NOTHING beats the view. We went around 7:30 in July and the lighting was absolutely stunning. I’m sure they’re used to people taking photos a million time during their visit, because it’s something you can’t help but want to capture. «Oh, let me get you in front of Downtown, oh, now the river … Wait, now the bridges again.» The only thing that was hard to look at was in one corner where the building and window meet, there’s bugs and webs and stuff(it’s noticeably hard for them to reach/clean) so just enjoy your wine and keep rotating.

Wonderful place to go for a celebration dinner or romantic evening. Food was cooked to perfection. We got the $ 99 dinner for two(salad, entrée, one side, dessert) but added appetizer of scallops which had bacon, mushrooms & what I thought were mashed potatoes but turned out to be a parsnip purée(incredible) & a bottle of wine. The steaks were prepared exactly as requested. Service is top notch. View of the Ohio River is ever changing due to the rotating part of the restaurant. The décor is lovely. If I had one negative it was the large group(over 20 people) that were rather loud. Wish they had been seated in the private dining area.

Great ambiance. The tuna tar tar appetizer was excellent ! The shrimp were huge and delicious in the cocktail. All of my guests raved about their main. The view was excellent as was the service. I will definitely return on my next trip.
