Overall, I was not too impressed with this place. I suffered a Grade III clavicle injury in June. The doctor told me that while he loves to do clavicle surgeries, he really discourages it in women because of the scarring. When you are in a profession where you have to use your arms all the time, that is not what I want to hear as a patient. I really couldn’t give a sh*t about the scarring, I just wanted to get better and not be in pain(Hey, at my age, I can always find a rich man to pay for scar removal surgery, right? LOL, I’m kidding(kind of).). 10 weeks later, my bones were still completely separated, with no sign of healing. But really, the last straw for me was when I sat in there for an hour and 45 minutes for an appointment that honestly should’ve taken 30 minutes, maybe 45 minutes tops. I had mentioned my figure 8 brace was too big, so I had a brace fitter come in. The smaller size they brought in was too small. I asked if they had a size in between or if they could order an in-between size for me, and the brace fitter told me I could go look it up on Google. I couldn’t believe that was the words that escaped out of a medical professional’s mouth! If you’re looking for compassionate care, I suggest you invest your time at the Steadman Clinic instead. It’s a two hour drive, but it was totally worth it because they actually put the effort into pinning my shoulder back together, and were a lot more compassionate for their patients than OPA!
