Tried New wave tonight. The new location on preston is a cool place. The food was OK. The burrito I got had a large amount of beans in it and not that much meat. I also got some chips and quest. While the quest was good it tastes very similar to tostidos queso you can buy in the store. The chips tasted like cool ranch duritos to me. Overall was OK

Oh yum! This started as a delivery joint, but they have added an eat-in location on Preston that is just fine. You order at the counter and grab your own napkins and forks. It’s a laid-back and friendly atmosphere, and they’ve got some good and unique flavors here. I had the Clive, and my friend had the Tourist. But he didn’t want a tortilla, hence, the Naked Tourist.(ahem.) Simply delicious, really nice if you love burritos but you’re bored with chain fast-casual. My burrito was too sloppy to pick up and eat but once I started in with the fork I found I didn’t mind at all. I especially liked the cheese; crumbled, not shredded, and very flavorful. My friend liked the huge hunks of grilled chicken in the Tourist. There was punk music playing, but not too loud. They have sodas or you can serve yourself water. The dining area is only open till midnight, but deliveries last till 4 on weekends. I will definitely be back.

I was so excited to try something new.(They deliver) we got the burritos in about 30 min on a Saturday. That’s great! we got the garbage burrito& the basher, chips&Queso it was 24 $ the chips where great but we didn’t love the burritos. We ended up taking most of the beans off(way to many) and in the end took a few bites and trashed them.

Yes. Just yes. Don’t think, just get it. Also, get the fries. I’m only typing more because Unilocal said that my review was too short. Please stop reading this and go get a burrito.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on their food. Wish I could, because it sounds delicious. My review is for their delivery service. They refused to deliver within 2.2 miles of their store location, even though they’re open and offer delivery after midnight. Really bummed, buzzed and starving. Will gladly change my rating once they change their delivery«infrastructure» — whatever that means, their term not mine.

While I agree that burrito delivery at 2 am concept is da bomb, they’ve built their Unilocal stars on their delivery orders. We visited their newly opened location on Preston for a more traditionally timed dinner. We ordered one crab torta(sandwich) and one burrito and two sodas. It was over $ 30 total. I was presented with applying the tip well before we even got to our seats — you order and pay at the counter after standing in line. I think this is rude and presumptive. The place is spartan and that’s OK, but there were other issues I hope are addressed in the future. Expect to fetch everything and anything you need yourself, and if there is a line at the counter, you’ll need to wait to get any help procuring those things. Example — we noticed bottles of squeeze salsa on other tables and asked for one, after waiting for the line to cease and as our food got cold. We were told we had to ask another table for a bottle as they only have TWO. I hated taking this person’s bottle of salsa off their table. HATEDIT. I later found out they have more bottles, but apparently it didn’t occur to the ditzy counter girl that she could actually go and FILLTHOSE bottles so you didn’t feel like you were ruining someone else’s dinner by taking their salsa. Instead, she spent her down time organizing and re-organizing the only two unpopular flavors of Jarritos they had on hand and pacing around. Hey did you know they make flavors other than Tamarind and Grapefruit? This is so easy to fix this. Stock ORANGE, LIME, PINEAPPLE, MANGO… Seriously, for $ 30, I expect to get a bottle of salsa at my table without having to put my meal on hold and take it away from another paying diner, and I expect to leave a tip based on service, not their demand up front. Very tacky. As far as the food, the chips were these hard, over-baked tasteless cardboard, dry-as-the-Sahara-desert, throat occluding shards. There was no salsa to ease the awfulness. Skip the awful thick tasteless chips. The burrito was good, but the crab, which was initially great the first few bites, turned fishy, squishy and sour part way into it. Yeeeeez. I had to fight back the urge to throw up, our cue to leave and not return.

This review will be short and sweet. Do you like burritos?(If the answer is yes, keep reading. If the answer is no, who are you?!) New Wave does burritos are as good or better as any qdoba or chipotle. Their specialty burritos, mixture of ingredients and overall creative approach make late night snacking way more fun. Do you like chorizo or tater tots or queso? Again, there’s only one answer. Ah man. I didn’t know I needed chorizo and tater tots in a burrito until I had«The Vacation.» Man. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Their burritos are huge. I could only eat half and good thing considering I saved the other half for my breakfast the next morning. I have no regrets. You will have no regrets. Just get yourself a late night burrito and don’t think about it #noregretsfornewwave

New Wave Burritos is the true late night version of Chipotle/Qdoba you never knew you really wanted. They deliver burritos from midnite to 4AM, or you can go pick them up at the Cure Lounge in Germantown. Every burrito on the menu has a unique flavor that will quench your late night cravings for tasty food. The burritos are big, and the ingredients taste fresh. Check out their Facebook page. Usually once a week they post their special meal which is always something to die for. Get some extra napkins and use your foil carefully as you chow down because these burritos do get messy if you order one with queso. The Tourist burrito with chicken and fajita veggies is my personal favorite, A lot of my friends love the Vacation burrito, it features chorizo, scrambled eggs, and tater tots. I thougth the Vacation was tasty, but was a little too salty for my preference. By far, this is one of the coolest concepts for a burrito place that I have been to. Soon, New Wave Burritos will be opening their own storefront on Preston Hwy where Grind Burger Kitchen once was. I just hope they increase their delivery radius so I can continue to eat their burritos.

Man, This place is awesome. When I go out to other places I always ask myself if I made the right decision or if I could have just ordered a new wave burrito.

This place was fantastic. Took under 20 minutes to get our 3 burritos. The pulled pork in the basher and the chips and queso were amazing. Only thing one of the burritos was very crowded with black beans so may just ask for half beans next time. Will order again.

I finally got to order a burrito last night and I can already say that I can’t wait to order another one. For my first time I decided to start with the Tourist which has marinated chicken as the meat component. It also contains shredded cheese, fajita style veggies, black beans, and white rice. I also added queso and sour cream for I think a dollar each. And I added jalapeños for free. The burrito arrived within 30 minutes of when I called to place the order and the driver was friendly. As soon as he handed me the bag I knew there was one hell of a huge burrito in there because it was really really heavy. At $ 11(with my queso and sour cream additions) I’m glad it was good sized so that i knew I was getting my money’s worth. I was very impressed with the amount of chicken in my burrito also. There was tons which was also nice. As much as I love beans and rice I definitely wanted some meat in there! My one and only complaint was that it was very messy to eat and I had to get a fork and eat some of the filling so that it didn’t completely explode on me but that’s a minor detail and certainly a first world problem! I can’t wait to try some of the other burrito options!

Bang for your buck bitches. A small menu but who cares when everything is awesome? Delivery to old louisville now means this is effectively the best food you can get in the neighborhood. Fast delivery and very low prices. I highly recommend the garbage burrito(ground beef) and the tourist(coconut braised pork). insanely large burritos for the money. Lots of great toppings for free as well. They now have nachos also with the same toppings. Every single person I’ve introduced this place to loves it. Now running out of the cure lounge kitchen so you can pick up a burrito now when you are wasted. This is my go-to drunk food.

These burritos are insane! They’re big, but not messy! A weekly special keeps things interesting! They taste sooo good … And they come to your house!!! I always go with the vacation, it’s just so delicious and something about the complimentary flavors(tangy/rich) and textures keeps me hooked. Truly though I’d love to try one of the weekly specials but they’ve always been sold out. Hopefully this will change now that they’re open Tues-Saturday!

The burritos are huge. Unfortunately, by the time they were delivered(about an hour after calling) they had become mushy and stuck to the paper. I had seen the other negative reviews on the paper and it made sense when I saw it for myself. We ended up all(3 of us) throwing them away half eaten and falling asleep drunk and hungry. It just wasn’t worth it. I don’t plan to try it again. It was a disappointing experience.

Nothing better than getting burritos delivered to your house! After getting the voicemail message they immediately called back. They also have a square reader which is amazing. You need to check em out!

Don’t waste your time. I had beef burrito, my boyfriend had the chicken one and we both regret losing the $ 21 we spent. They were soupy. Like literally soup in a tortilla. I got charged $ 2 for adding fajita vegetables to my burrito even though I took off the jalapeños, beans, and scallions. Tell me how that makes sense. Whatever, lesson well learned.

I still can’t believe I ordered a burrito on Saturday night & it was delivered to my home! Burritos by delivery! I could almost end the review there but I’ll elaborate. With 4 burritos to choose from(I believe a 5th one is on the way)… simple menu usually means great results. I decided to go with The Garbage Burrito(Taco-Spiced Ground Beef, Black Beans, Rice, Golden Velvet Queso, Sour Cream, Pickled Jalapenos, & Scallions). When ordering, they’re not really about small talk. They’ll answer your questions. With limited hours 12AM-4AM, they’re very busy. It’s all about taking your order & delivering it to you. Although some say you might have to call them a few times before they answer, I got through on the first try.(Phone results may vary). I ordered my burrito & within 20 minutes it was delivered! I was afraid that it wouldn’t be fresh, but it was very fresh. Huge burrito! You see $ 9 for a burrito & wonder why it’s so expensive. They stuff the burrito to capacity! Well worth the $ 9. My only suggestion would be to place an extra tortilla around the first tortilla or to just wrap in the foil instead of burrito-layer of paper-then a layer of foil. Once you’re half way through the burrito, it starts to get messy because of the wet ingredients. It causes the burrito to start falling apart. Overall I loved it! A tasty burrito freshly delivered. My only complaint is that I wish I would have had more beer by the time they showed up. This will definitely satisfy my weekend late-night hunger on future occasions. Fun late night delivery option. I hope the quality remains as they expand their delivery zone. Additional note: They take cash or Square for payment options.

Burritos… delivered. Need I say more? Pretty quick delivery, and they are frigging delicious! Had a Basher and a Tourist. They were good that night, and the next day for lunch. I can’t wait to have another drunken night with friends so I can order them again. Such a MUCH better option than that greasy, cardboard-crust late-night delivery pizza place that only tastes good when you are either drunk or lacking any taste buds(yes, I am talking about you, Spinelli’s). So, yes… place and order and enjoy sometime. You will thank me for it later.

This place delivers burritos from 12am-4am which is pretty amazing. They also accept payment upon delivery by square which is very convenient. Not as convenient is the process of placing the order, which requires repeatedly calling their burner cell phone until someone picks up. It took 3 tries to get an answer tonight. The burritos are huge and tasty. I especially love their queso filling. However, the burritos are kind of hard to eat because the filling is really wet and they wrap the burritos in paper before the foil which makes the wrapping loose. I wish they wrapped then in just foil like Qdoba or Chipotle. Overall this is a fun option for late night delivery. If they make placing an order easier then their potential could be unlimited.
