3 ½ stars. Big on servings, big on taste. Friendly, casual, moderate prices for this kind of cuisine. We’ll be back :)

JAN2012EDIT: By all appearances, it is closed for good. a «FORRENT» sign is the in the window. If you end up here anyway, try the Colombian place next door. Leaving my star rating up because I really did enjoy the food here. After a short closing, Mi Patria has reopened under new ownership as La Jugada Sports Bar and Tienda. Same good menu, same chef, slight changes in style.

They never cease to amaze us on the quality of food and service. Where can you get a deliciously satisfying carnitas, pastor or asada tacos for less than $ 2bucks? From time to time they have their own tamales. It’s good. Mi Patria is under new management. The new owners are husband & wife and their lady friend(Melissa) who all used to work together at a chain restaurant. Friendly and hard working people. Mi Patria sells«guatemalan chicken». We wouldn’t know about it until Melissa told us. It comes in a box of 9pcs for $ 30bucks. I know it’s a bit pricey but maybe it’s worth it. We’ve made many attempts to get one but we felt they’re being flaky. According to Mi Patria, the guatemalan chicken comes via train from Texas. It is delivered on Saturdays. We tried to reserved a box or two but we get the run around. For that we’re giving you 3stars. We’re no longer a fan :(
