Stopped in to get some information on their rentals, which I love that they have.
A friend of mine basically demanded that she be allowed to borrow my DSLR for her camping and hiking trip to Alaska (asking me would have been nice…). I begrudgingly acquiesced to allowing her to use my older Nikon body, but there was no way she was going to take my very VERY expensive zoom lens. So we checked some out at Murphy’s. The prices are ok for day/​weekend/​week rentals. Anything beyond that, you might as well buy a used lens for close to the same price. And they have a pretty decent selection of used merchandise.
She ended up deciding to «settle» for using my kit lens instead of renting. But they are there should YOU need any equipment or want to try before you buy.

I went in today to buy a camera that I have been debating about buying for a few months. Luis was an incredible help. He answered all of my questions and helped me with my purchase. Some of the accessories I wanted, he took me around the store and made sure the bag would fit my camera and other things. He helped me test out a tripod. He was really patient, since I am a new photographer and wasn’t sure about certain things. He didn’t try to sell me anything extra and I will definitely come back to get any new lenses or to get a another camera. Ask for Luis, but I am sure everyone else in there is just as good!

This is the only place I trusted to develop my black and white photos of my newborn daughter. The quality was stunning on these prints, and they will be treasured for a lifetime.
The downside? I’m still using film. Please do not attempt to sell me digital. i know what I am using my camera for, and I’m paying for processing. What gives?

Always a pleasure to watch my husband spend my hard earned cash here at Murphys.
All of the employees are friendly, and very knowledgeable about the products that they sell.
They have a wide range of products and their layaway is very helpful.
Never a bad shopping experience.

I’m a huge fan of the locally owned and operated business, but I used to work next door to this joint and, MAN, the absolute meanest, nastiest most UN-​neighborly folks EVER. INCLUDING MR. MURPHY.
I’d rather have Wal-​Mart develop my photos. And I hate Wal-​Mart.
Also, I did suck it up and try to go here once to make a purchase, the staff was unfriendly and not helpful. I have no idea if they were well-​informed since any wisdom they possessed seemed unavailable to me.
