If you’re looking for apathetic service(a kind descriptor) and SLOW food, then you are in luck at Mulligan’s. We sat waiting for an hour or so, no apology or explanation provided. The place was nearly empty(wonder why!!!) so you would expect to get your food promptly. Not so. When our food finally did come up, it sat in the window while our server smoked a cigarette out back. My friends and I walked out and none of us have any intention of ever returning.

Came here with my kids, sat at a table and was ignored completely for over 15 minutes before we got up and left. Two different waitresses walked by us several times. I’m not going to hunt you down at your own restaurant to serve me. Service is never stellar any time I’ve been but never have I been completely ignored.

Good food, friendly service, & a great crowd of people. Enough TV’s so everyone can watch their game during football season.

Was there on Feb. 15th. Good band. Decent food and a nice beer selection. A comfortable place to hang out.

A local hang out. Can’t go wrong here. Music, daily specials, cool people and a unique selection of beverages. A ‘hole in the wall’ that any visitor should try, and a favorite of the locals.

Went here around 2pm. Place was dead. Got the reuben which wasn’t bad. Came with the ‘homemade’ potato chips which were cold, greasy an stale. Wife got the grilled chicken breast sandwich which was raw and sent back. Then opted for the BLT. Same cold greasy stale chips. Attitudes were horrible. However… the barkeep did make it up to us by not charging my wife’s meal(the BLT) and knocked 40% off my meal but still we will not be going back. This is in the building where Kaelin’s used to be.

Went there with my husband on a Saturday 1 pm(we were the only customers which should have been a tip off). I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which came with chips. It was a thick breast so I started at the thinner part and was making my way to the thickest portion when I noticed something not right. The texture was weird so 2 – 3 bites later i cut the thickest portion to find the weird texture was that it was raw. Yep, raw chicken breast. Immediately I took it to the bartender(who was also the waiter apparently) and he did seem shocked but no apologies. Long story short, we had to get our own menus, the customer service was cold, as well as the food, and the chips that came with the sandwich had to be from the day before… rewarmed. The waiter/bartender did not charge me for my meal tho. Needless to say we will not be going back. Hoping I don’t get salmonella.

I come hear most Mondays to have their Smoked Burger for lunch with a tall Magners. They make my favorite burger, hands down. Also I love that they have Magners Cider on tap. Great people, and friendly.

Went to mulligans for a nice night out and to sit outside. When we weren’t being bombarded by flies our waiter bombarded us with bad service. We ordered the beer cheese with«pretzel bread» but what came out was beer cheese and tasteless communion wafers or crackers — not what we wanted to pay for? Waiter didn’t talk and had no suggestions for what beer to order and just stated he was a bud light guy. I ordered the patty melt medium and what came out was a half cooked rip off of the melt from Steak ‘n Shake. I sent it back and the waiter made no mention of apologies. What came back was a burnt burger they threw back on the grill(bread and all). Waiter never said a word. Atmosphere is a 45+ smoking crowd who seem oblivious to the fact that there are at least 6 other Irish bars in the area that are considerably better when it comes to food and service. ADVICE: GO to O’Shea’s, Flanagans, or Molly’s on Bardstown Rd.

Went here for a watch party for the 2013NCAA Basketball Championship game. Decent selection on tap and given how packed the bar was, super fast service. Their staff was attentive and quick, too. The food was fair, too — I didn’t select anything too special — burger and fries, but it was fresh and decent.

Four of us went for the first time Sunday June 9th at about 12:30 in the afternoon. We sat at a table and waited for 15 minutes for a server to stop for our drink order, so we went on and ordered our meal at the same time. For some strange reason the server brought our drinks(cokes) one at a time. We waited 20 more minutes to get our food which was barely warm. It was not very good. The server tried to clean our table before we were through with our food. After we finished we waited another 15 minutes to get our check. Then waiting for another 15 minutes with no one wanting our money we went to the bar and cashed out our checks. We will never go back and will not suggest this place to no one. Maybe sitting at the bar would be the way to go here.

Catholic football HQ in the Highlands. I watched a U of L football game here in advance of a family lunch that began after the game ended on Oct 13, 2012. I’ve never seen more grade school t-shirts and jerseys in my life(not to mention Notre Dame). Nevertheless, on that day, everyone was primarily there to watch U of L at Pitt. The food here seems to have largely improved(with a lot more sides than when I ate here right as it opened). The exposed wood interior is comforting but a bit noisy when the room is full.

This bar gives off the ambiance of an Irish bar. At this, it fails. But if you judge it as your average neighborhood bar, then it’s OK. Went there for lunch, and had a decent meal. Fish and chips(which was the only«Irishy» thing they had on the menu). Fish was cut small, but was OK. Fries were bland, but spiced well with the malt vinegar they had. Overall, nothing special. But decent. Service was fine, but nothing to write home about. Beer did not have a particularly good selection. There were about 8 taps, and they were mostly the typical macro Irish brews(Guinness, etc.). Good for drinking during a game or something, but insufficient for a beer destination. I did appreciate that they have some outdoor seating. This is great for a warm day when you want to relax and have a cold beer.

Couldn’t ask for a better bar/restaurant in walking distance from home. What I like best is that they have all the satellite sports(Sunday NFL Ticket too), but nobody seems to know… Shhhh! That’s our secret. Easy, no fuss atmosphere is great and while nearby places are elbow to elbow, you have plenty of room here on any given Sunday. buckets and pitchers available and pretty good food, too.

Awww… I love that they kept the plaque on the building that says Kaelin’s was the birthplace of the cheeseburger. I don’t really care if it is true — I liked that story and I’m glad it is still part of the building’s history. As for Mulligan’s, it is a perfectly lovely place to drink some beers and watch the game and maybe yell at the TV a little bit. They have a decent beer selection — yay! Bells Two Hearted on tap — and good prices. The staff is great and the bar food is — well, it’s bar food.

Average pub. Not fancy, not obnoxious, not fake. Just some drinks, a small bar area, plenty of tables and friendly service. Live music at least some of the time, decent sound system. Food appeared(others at my table got apps) decent, chips oversalted. Good place for some friends to hang out or for a low-key date.

I went to Mulligan’s with my fiancée after reading about them in our local Alt Weekly Paper. They have ½ priced appetizers for happy hour and we decided to try three of these to get an idea of the food they serve. I had the mini cheeseburgers and shared an order of onion rings and my fiancée had the chips and artichoke dip. The service was excellent; the waitress was friendly and attentive and our food arrived quickly. They also had live music, which was good. The mini cheeseburgers came with house made chips and both were tasty. The artichoke dip was also good, but the onion rings were brittle and left a little bit to be desired. Be aware that the food is pub food, but overall good and very reasonably priced.
