Frozen Yogurt shops are becoming a dime a dozen so in order for one to stand out it has to be amazing. Menchie’s is okay but it isn’t the best around. On the positive side they have a good variety of flavors ranging from original tart to fruity to cake batter to chocolate or vanilla. They even had a very strange tasting movie theater popcorn flavored fro-yo when I visited today. Their yogurts are also very rich, creamy, and taste exactly like what they are supposed to taste like. If the label says cake batter the fro-yo will taste like cake batter. Now, onto the negatives. The machines are temperamental and difficult to work and the handles stick. The woman working in the store was inattentive and didn’t seem to notice that we were struggling with the machines. I skipped over most of the toppings and went straight to the fruit. Much of it had been sitting out far too long. I didn’t dare touch the mango or pineapple because at least half of each the container had long turned brown and mushy. I also picked carefully through the browning sliced bananas. The actual fro-yo is so delicious that it is such a shame to not give Menchie’s five stars. Maybe my next visit will be better.

Dangerously delicious. The birthday cake fro-yo is my favorite(with rainbow sprinkles). The Dulce de Leche is so good as well. And they also had a *POPCORN* flavored option. Which was spot on, if a bit weird. My fro-yo order was cheaper than I thought it was going to be, so that was a plus. And some(though limited outdoor seating) is also a plus.

Wow! I hope this place comes to New Orleans. It’s a serve yourself frozen yogurt shop. You can add all the fresh toppings you want, and it’s reasonably priced by weight. So blackberries and strawberries and bananas and nuts and sprinkles and everything else costs the same — instead of hiked up prices for fruits. It was phenomenal! I really, really hope to see them in NOLA.

Great yogurt, great staff means I always have a great experience. Plus the yogurt is real and not a powdered mix like orange leaf and some of the other places in town. Highly recommended!

I was disappointed in Menchie’s. As silly as this sounds, the frozen yogurt was well… frozen. Fro-yo in the past for me has always been a bit more creamy than it was frozen. I also didn’t like the fact that there were ice bits in my serving of vanilla. As much as I like the idea of this place, I was disappointed in the quality. I have been to other places like this and they really are staircases above. Keep trying and work on those flavors.

This is the first serve yourself frozen yogurt place I’ve ever tried. It was OK. Cute décor and the idea is novel. I tried small servings of 4 different flavors and they kind of all tasted alike. Not too much difference in any of the flavors. And it seemed sort of expensive for what I got.

I really liked the décor of the joint, but the quality of the froyo was not as high quality as Ce Fiore froyo on Bardstown Rd. Menchie’s yogurt had more of a sour taste, and their choices of toppings did not look to good. =(I think you should go try it anyways though just for the experience.

Yummy! It was very good, lots of choices. The workers are kind of engrossed in their own conversations, sometimes not paying attention to the costumers, but still say, «Welcome to Menchies!» Very good overall!

Good addition to the Louisville froyo scene. I’ve been to the Lexington location as well and they’re pretty similar. Somewhat limited selection of yogurt flavors, but they really shine in the toppings area. I just wish they had mochi!
