I’m pretty impressed by this place at lunch time. They keep the drive thru moving quickly and have always gotten my order correct. I usually eat there at least 1 time a week. Some of the items on the menu at this location are a little more expensive than others in the same area which irritates me and some of the workers aren’t exactly warm and friendly, but ultimately I care about my order getting cooked right and everything being given to me that I order and that they do well.

Apparently the people here lack common sense. Once I was picking up food for my mom and myself. She is a short lady and eats less than me. I ordered her a medium size #2 and myself a large #2. Somehow this simple order was too hard to understand. It was like I was speaking Japanese or something. After trying 3 times and them not understanding this simple request, I just drove off !

Hospitality is apparently too expensive for the franchisee of the McDonalds Restaurant on Market Street in downtown Louisville. Something happened there this morning that has never happened to me before at any McDonalds restaurant where I have eaten breakfast. I usually eat breakfast at one of the locations in Jeffersonville/Clarksville in Indiana but I wanted to get across the bridge to Louisville first and make sure I still had time to stop and eat before doing my volunteer work. Fortunately, traffic was not as bad as I expected so I went to the Market Street McDonalds and enjoyed a burrito and an egg McMuffin along with a senior coffee(I consider McDonald coffee the best of any fast food restaurant). It’s what happened as I was leaving that has me scratching my bald head. I went to get a refill of coffee and the server looked me straight in the face and sternly announced«we do not give free refills on coffee». I looked amazed and said«say what??» She once again stated«we do not give free refills on coffee». I told her that this would be my first and last time of coming to that McDoanlds and walked out of the store. I saw another employee standing outside and I told her what had happened and she said«we haven’t given coffee refills for several years». I responded with«I can’t believe this». She went on to tell me how she had also worked at another Louisville McDonalds and they also had a no coffee refill policy”. I got in my car to leave when a manager came out the door and waved at me. I lowered my window and she said she would get me another cup of coffee. I told her«that’s ok, if its your policy not to give coffee refills I would just be on my way». She concluded by saying the server should not have refused to refill my cup”. I guess in Louisville the employee is permitted to refill the cup if the senior citizen begs for it. I’m sure this is not a corporate policy but has to be a policy dictated by the Louisville area franchise holder. I would invite him to have breakfast at the two locations right across the river. At the 10th street and the Eastern Blvd. locations, a friendly employee comes by your table and asks if you would like a refill and will get it for you.
