For those of you looking for a Mcalister’s that is on par with other McAlister’s in the city(i.e. delicious) this is not a spot for you. Every other McAlister’s that I have been to has been consistent and yummy — this McAlister’s is just subpar. I have had the French dip at other McAlister’s and I have always been satisfied. The French dip here is mostly bread, very little cheddar, and just flavorless. The service is also pretty bad — mostly college students that seem a little irritated that they have to work. The only reason I will come back is because I work at the University; I think I’ll be sticking to potatoes which are pretty impossible to mess up!

This location is on the UofL campus and is convenient. Yes, I understand that it’s a campus location and it’s smaller. Yes, I know they are bombarded with students left and right especially during lunch hours. Unfortunately, since that’s what should be expected everyday and it’s not a new opening… I really expect better. My friend and I called in an order because we realized it was lunch time and they would be packed. She called hers in first then put me on the phone for the second order. We arrive and my order is ready but hers isn’t. There is confusion about why the salad and sandwich isn’t ready, but after 5 minutes all food is in hand. Good, right? Wrong. My order was 50% wrong and the line was so damn long I didn’t have time to get it corrected. My chicken ceasar salad was instead a chicken ceasar wrap and it barely had dressing on it. My chili was fairly cold and when I went up for a side of dressing was told I needed to pay fifty cents for it. I’m disappointed in the service at this location and really expect better all around. I’m not sure if it was just a rough, busy day or what the issue was. However, I’m not thinking I’ll be revisiting the UofL location anytime soon.

I’m so glad that McAlister’s is on UofL’s campus. This location is in the Mitzi(sp?) Technology Center — MTC — in the basement. Apparently that building used to be student services before the Student Activities Center. If you’ve been to a McAlister’s before — don’t expect the same menu here. This is a «select» location, which basically means a watered down version or they«select» what they put on the menu. They still have giant spuds, grilled panini’s and THOSEGIANTSWEETTEAS! My favorite thing to order from the menu is a pick 2 — Bacon Spud and McAlister’s Club. Can you tell I love bacon? Even the pick 2 version of the spud is huge and delicious, with lots of cheese and bacon. I honestly get it every time I go(or a casear salad if I’m feeling particularly calorie guilty) so I can give you a full run down of the menu. Don’t expect anything besides Styrofoam plates. The line can get pretty long during the lunch hour. There is also a website that you can check out the line — . So if you’re on campus for any given reason — especially on the Speed School Side, give McAlister’s a try! 3 Stars only because of the line and one of my good friends is disappointed the nachos are not on the menu. They also don’t take gift cards. BUT you can call ahead if you’re on campus.
