I’m removing a star not because the care I have received has deteriorated, but because this summer they have new hours and they close at 4pm on Wednesdays. This is probably really nice for the staff, but it pushes the last appointment of the day to 3pm. Wednesdays are the day the orthodontist is available and I need to see her about once every six weeks. It’s not possible for me to work a normal shift and make it to Metro Dental by 3pm, which means I have to take time off or ask for some exception to make up time later, which is inconvenient. That said, I’m still happy with the work they do here, and that’s what matters more.

Top notch dentist. I went to him for years when I lived in Louisville. I went for checkups/cleanings and rarely had problems, just a few cavities, so that’s all I can speak to. The cleanings were thorough and professional; the hygienists took their time. Early on, they convinced me to floss daily, and I have ever since. At the end of a visit, Dr. Hammond comes in to review the X-rays and do a quick once-over, and I’ve been able to ask him questions and he’s happy to discuss with me for a few minutes. It’s usually quite anticlimactic; he was never pushy to milk my insurance or do procedures I didn’t need. He definitely seemed experienced when filling my cavities; I think he did 3 at once, and knew which ones needed to be numbed up and which didn’t, and it didn’t hurt at all. I think the hygienist took over to do the filling, and she was very meticulous, making sure it was filled completely but not too much that it screwed up my bite. My previous dentist’s office was older and not well-maintained; Metro Dental Group’s office looks like it was built last week, and is in great shape. They have massage chairs for you to lean back in while they work, and the few times I’ve had to spend any time in the waiting room, it’s comfortable and spacious enough, too.
