Don’t waste your time nor your money. Couldn’t get either of our orders correct and not one of the staff that we encountered could understand or speak English! I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant and waited 45 minutes after placing my order. And then it came out cold. I ordered a combo platter that included a tostada. When they put half if it underneath a chili relleno converted in sauce, the tostada turns was mush.

I love this place. This is just like the old Ernesto’s that used to be in Louisville. The chicken quesadilla tastes wonderful and isn’t filled with a bunch of liquid falling out everywhere when I pick it up to eat it. Perfect combo of cheese and chicken nicely shredded. My spot from now on! And the outdoor patio seating was lovely:)

Okay — I know what you are thinking — even though you came here looking for this same answer. YES this is ANOTHER Mexican restaurant. YES they have free chips and salsa. YES. They have basic margaritas and cheap beer. HOWEVER the food is very fresh and the service has always been nice. if you are tired of all the other basic Mexican food restaurants please give this a try. My husband is obsessed with the carne Asada burrito and literally tried to lick his plate clean. I have the tacos, nachos, and recently the taco salad and it was HUGE and the chicken was great. The only negative thing I can say about the food is the salsa. I don’t think it tastes great and they only have one spice level which is too hot for me. They do have an awesome patio that would be perfect for a Friday happy hour! Give it a chance!

This place is literally DISGUSTING. We came on Derby Day and it was dead, which is understandable and fine given the day. The interior is BEAUTIFUL. We were really hopeful about the food matching… but it fell WAAAAY short. All of the food tasted like it was from a microwave. My dish(I do not recall the name, as this food was NOT memorable) had spoiled tomatoes in it. My husbands chicken wings where not the least bit hot and very dry. He ordered an enchilada and it was literally a soggy tortilla with cheese and sauce. That’s all. The rice was ok. Our server was nice, but he took a long time to do anything. Since we were the only people there, it didn’t make much sense. We will not be back and will not suggest it to others.

Well lets start with the service my wife orderd a simple bottle beer it took her 5 times asking to get one the food came before her drink did . Our waiter was MIA most of the time and could have cared less. Now the food can you say GFS boys and girls. It was same olé tourist fare my pork dish was dull and so fatty was like i was eating a shoe. Her dish was very lackluster. The only reason im giving a two is that it was at least somewhat clean from being the previous tilted kilt If all you wanna do is get drunk and eat bad knockoff mexican please go here. Me im never going back

Food is ok. Extremely slow service. Waited for food for 30 min. and the restaurant was not busy. It took a server to bring our drinks 20 min. I was not satisfied at all.

Being St. Patrick’s day we went a bit early about 5:30. I was with my 4 year old daughter. We sat inside and ordered drinks and cheese dip and 1 dinner which we split. We were in no hurry and brought a new book to entertain us. It took a few minutes more than usual to be waited on, however we got our food within 5 minutes of ordering. The queso was good and our chicken soft taco dinner were excellent. It did take awhile to get our check, again we were not in a hurry and the manager took my credit card and our server Eric made sure we were taken care of. I could tell he was in the weeds, as we were finished with dinner it got very crowded. All in all we will come back and ask for Eric and wonderful customer service.

Very good food — especially the refried beans: best I’ve had. I ordered my staple by the way, ground beef tacos. I would have given this restaurant five stars had it not been for the overly loud music from the one-man band playing. It was late at night relatively, and there was virtually no one else in the restaurant, but the sound was blasting and blaring — very annoying. Is this a restaurant or a nightclub? I think management needs to make up its mind. Also, the print was so small on the menu, and the menu was so crowded and hard to read, that I gave up trying to figure out what to order and simply told the waitress what I wanted.

Sunday, 7 pm. We almost turned away due to the parking lot being so full, it looked too busy to get fast service. Once in the door, we realized the vast majority of those cars were apparently for Texas Roadhouse next door. Not pleased with crowds, we were glad this was more relaxed. As we are being seated, diners in the next booth were looking forlorn, looking down at a plate of uneaten food like our cat does when they detect the hidden vitamins. Asked what they liked/didn’t like, they said: her Pina Fajitas were good; he said with an upside down smile his Camarones were thumbs down; did not recommend. For lower-expectations LOUISVILLEMEXICAN: BETTERTHANSTANDARD: $ 14.99 Pina Fajitas: a seared half pineapple boat, with sauteed fresh pineapple, onion, green pepper, topped with flavorful, tender strips of grilled white chicken. $ 2.49 Happy Hour margarita had a unique flavor(our server didn’t know what were the ingredients and didn’t offer to find out.) Overpriced for the volume of food; priced right if presentation is your thing. Lunch Menu hours stated in the Take-Home Menu«daily» 11 am — 3 pm does not exclude weekends and holidays. STANDARD: Service. Missed bringing a side item; took longer than usual to get served. When asking for a Happy Hour margarita, the server looked at his watch to make sure it was available. LESSTHANSTANDARD: They made no pretense of an attempt to serve chips hot – either came right out of a store-bought bag or was cooked the day before and served room temp – the green and red chips made festive color. The salsa tasted like canned tomato sauce, tho it did have a couple of snippets of fresh tomato and fresh jalapeño & a sliver of cilantro. Salsa was served in ¾“H x 3“D bowls, and you had to ask for a refill. Serving size of the fajita’s side items(lettuce, guac, sour crème, beans, rice) also was less volume than expected for the price — perhaps mistakenly the smaller lunch size? The guac was runny, but I did detect a ½“x 1/16″ sliver of avocado. OFF-PUTTING: Seating a couple next to a birthday party, in the back party room, with noisy kids ruined any hope for romantic Mexican cuisine – lesson learned there. Server brought to the table a manual credit card processor, for the diner to select 1 of a few prescribed tip %age options. Receipt given was only a credit card receipt, not an itemized bill. The Take-Home menu is in such fine print, it is hard to read – fire the publisher! Squinting, one can decipher their web site menu is .

Stopped in on a Sunday evening on our way to the movies. The food was far beyond our expectations as was the service. My husband had the California Burrito, I had the Mango’s Burritos. Both were fresh and full of flavor. The shredded beef in mine was so good I would have been happy to just eat that. My husband asked for hot sauce and the waiter suggested some bottled sauces and then told us about a «housemade» sauce, warning it was HOT. well it was hot. too much heat for me, tho the flavor was great, my husband loved it. The waiter was warm and personable. Had great suggestions without being pushy. We were in a hurry so no appetizers or desserts … we will return with friends!

we recently went to Mango’s, and we were underwhelmed and had high hopes that Mango’s would be as good as the old Ernesto’s. Things went downhill right away, when we got the chips and salsa. Oddly the salsa was congealed in the bottle. we could literally hold the bottle upside down without it pouring out, or moving. We were a little scared at this point and asked for a replacement… Another miss was the service. our waiter barely listened to us and he basically stared off in space while we ordered our food. Our food arrived quickly but our food came out lukewarm and the cheese had portions that were unmelted. Even my daughter’s quesadilla had unmelted cheese and sections were cold. When I told the waiter that my food was luke warm, they swiftly corrected with a new plate. So things got better. On a positive note, they have fast checkout with a portable credit machine that you use at your table. Overall the place wasn’t great. I felt like if we had a different waiter, maybe we would have had a better experience. we will give it another shot once things warm up and the outdoor patio is open. High hopes for spring margaritas on the patio.

Atmosphere and service were great. Margarita was the highlight of this visit. Rice — pretty good Beans — good Enchilada — taste was good but bottom was hard and had to use a knife to cut it. Probably sitting in a pan too long! Tamale — Nasty! Don’t know if it was prepared nasty or nasty from being so damn old, stale! I may go back but El Tarasco is always good.

So happy that they finally brought a Mexican restaurant back to this location. Also I love Mango’s Mexican food… so I was even happier to find out that they came to this location. You must try their Spicy mango margarita… and I have tried something different every time I have came and I have never been disappointed!
