Best Mexican food in Louisville! We just tried the new Mangos restaurant on Dutchmans Ln and it was just what I have been looking for. My husband and I have lived here for 3 yrs and have tried several Mexican restaurants here and nothing comes close to the quality of food that you get from this place. Everything is fresh! And I am perfectly okay with waiting for good fresh food. The Margarita is made fresh– and is by far the best margarita I have ever had. From the décor to the bar, everything looks great and clean. I highly recommend this place.

Food was very good, but the service was incredibly poor. Barely anyone was here when we arrived yet a half dozen waiters were too busy standing around talking to bring my daughter and myself anything. Also, if you use a card, you enter the tip amount in front of the waiter on a hand terminal. Very uncomfortable and strange, especially after receiving almost no contact with any wait staff for 45 mins. I will NOT return.

I had the pollo ranchero, excellent. My friend had the carnitas, excellent. Her mom had the fiesta plate? A chili relleno, taco, enchilada and a tostada I think. She enjoyed it all. They also had the dip with chorizo and pico de gallo, excellent. We are from California and this is pretty good so far.

Food was pretty good and the price was reasonable. Staff was pretty friendly also. I loved the lunch buffet. Very good meatballs and the soft tacos were great even without taco sauce. Would love to see taco sauces added to the buffet.

Pros: –There is a buffet. –Lots of fruit on the buffet, which makes me think it’s somewhat healthy… I’m lying to myself. Cons: –The place has a buffet. Mediocre food, and lots of it. –Ordered from the menu, food came out cold. There are so many good Mexican restaurants, I couldn’t recommend anyone spend their money here before they spent it at a fantastic one somewhere else.

I have mixed feelings about Mango’s. I have only been here for the lunch buffet, and the experience might be different ordering from the menu. Mango’s is a big place. It is tastefully decorated in a modern Mexican style. By that, I mean brightly colored walls, but lacking donkeys, serapes, sombreros and such. That’s nice. Without exception, the staff are friendly and efficient. The buffet food ranges from fantastic to really dull. On the fantastic side are the variety of freshly made salsas(both cooked and uncooked varieties.) That’s going above and beyond, and I really appreciate it. The guacamole is also spot-on. There are freshly made chips which provide a tasty foil for the great salsas, and there is a nice variety of fresh fruit. The entrees are dull. They can be dressed up with the nice salsas, but the fillings of the burritos, chimichangas and enchiladas are flavorless. The refried beans are also without flavor. There are ingredients for making your own tacos, but I am put off by the premade taco and tostada shells. Yes, everyone uses them, but that doesn’t make it right. They are the boxed kind, something like a corn chip. They are cheap and easy, but cheap and easy are not the best qualities for a meal or a date. The dessert portion of the buffet offers limited selections, but the selections are good. I chose sopapillas and flan. The sopapillas were sweet, crunchy and delicious, and the flan was delightfully smooth, rich and creamy. At $ 7.99, the buffet is a pretty good value. I may come back to try ordering from the menu. The salsas demonstrate that someone in the kitchen understands Mexican cuisine even if the buffet doesn’t completely fulfill the potential.

Still one of our favorite places to eat and now they have DJTrivia on Tuesday nights at 7:30. We have met a lot of new people and had a lot of fun here.

I’ve never been to the lunch buffet, but I’ve been to dinner and I’ve been pleasantly surprised each time! I’ve never heard of Mangos up until recently, but both times I went were good experiences! The chicken soup is different from most places because they have rice in theirs, and it’s spicer than what I’m used to for chicken soup. But I love spicy, so for me, this was a win! The price point for everything is fair, and the food always comes out quick! I believe they have drink specials just about every day of the week too! The only complaint I have is that I would like for the waiter to be a little bit more fluent in English. I had to repeat myself a few times about my allergy before he quite understood what I was asking(is there flour in this? I just want corn tortillas please, stuff like that)

I just moved to town and was looking for a place to eat one night with my mom to take a break from unpacking. This place had pretty decent reviews so we decided to check it out. We were seated promptly and the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Décor is low end typical Mexican restaurant décor. This is not a fancy place, very casual. I ordered a skinny margarita which was pretty darn good, one of the better ones I’ve had. The salted rim, however was regular table salt and not rock salt which was disappointing. We also ordered a serving of guacamole while waiting, which was average. Not awesome but not bad either. It needed a little more seasoning. The salsa was fresh and good however. I ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla and my mom ordered a chicken burrito. My quesadilla is pictured and was classic. It was filled to the brim and good. My mom’s burrito, however came out more like an enchilada. She said it was good, but just different from a typical burrito and sauced like an enchilada. Both were good, well seasoned and we both agreed we’d come again. I was able to snap two photos of the menu before it was taken, there are two more pages of the menu. If I come back, I’ll snap the other two pages. They include the quesadillas and some other items. Service was good, kept our water glasses filled and kept checking on us. Waiter was friendly and kind. Overall, I’d say a quick, inexpensive bite, and recommended.

I’ve been here after work with coworkers and enjoyed it, thinking it was your fairly typical affordable Mexican place. The food and drink menus are what you’d expect. But a few weeks ago, we stopped in for the lunch buffet. I’d never been to a Mexican buffet before despite Mexican being my favorite type of food. It was really fun to get to have a little of a lot of different choices and the price was impossible to beat. I’m hoping we will go back before too long!

Fresh! Great Service! EXCELLENTFRESHHOTCHIPS!!! Everything always comes out hot and fresh. They actually care about the presentation of their very tasty food. Some Mexican restaurants just plop food on a plate. NOT Mangos, presentation is almost as important as taste!!! Always looks appetizing and tasting delicious!!!

I think their lunch buffet is probably the best deal in town. The food is very good and the price can’t be beat. I’ve been there a few times with my Co-workers and I have never paid over $ 9.

J-Town’s best kept secret. We’ve been coming here for years, before it was named Mango’s, and it keeps getting better. Fun atmosphere, and great, authentic food. The Tex-Mex chains pale in comparison.

Very good flavor, presentation, service, and prices! Defiantly will be coming back. Live music on Thursdays and every other Saturday. Specials and happy hour every day. Cheap buffet at lunch time all week and weekend.
