I’ve had frustration with getting flats and not being able to remove tires put on by another shop; they were incredibly tight on the rim. Scott the owner (like, forever) knew it wasn’t the tires but the wheels: «They’re notoriously hard to work with.» He polled his cast of mechanics and they all agreed that I needed folding tires (no wire beads). The tires were over $ 50 each… not cheap. But I price-​shopped on-​line and you know what? The shop charged the same OR LESS than mail-​order!
This is not my first time to use these guys (my first was the «biathalon» that Scott helped put on about a hundred years ago) and it won’t be my last.

The service department is exceptional. Luke recently worked on my mountain bike and went above and beyond in trying to service it for me.
I recommend this shop (especially Luke!) to anyone!

I called them on the phone, because i had a flat tire, and they told me to «bring it in». I brought it in and even though they were busy, they got to it right away, and 10 minutes later, i was out the door. I had both tire tubes replaced because I wanted the best they offered, and it was very reasonable. Tyler was especially helpful, and they will get my business again.

Just not a good vibe in that place. They seem like they don’t want to do any work to give good customer service, not very knowledgeable about different bikes, and simply not a pleasure to be in the store. no, i will not give them my money. was there in late-​July.

I was recently in the shop in order to get an insurance quote for my bike which had been hit by a car. I was supremely impressed with their customer service, they are fast and very friendly. My qualm however is that I have doubts as to their competence… I know that is a very strong thing to say, but it is true none the less. This was the second insurance quote I was to receive, and had told the person I dropped the bike off to that the first shop had told me the frame had been bent. When I picked it up, they said that it was fine… frame wise, and gave me the quote. I was dissatisfied with this as two shops had now told me different things. I took it to a third shop, that confirmed that the frame had been bent.
All and all, quite friendly and good prices, but as I said above, theym may not be entirely competent.

Had bikes shipped here when I moved to the area. They tuned them up great and were extremely friendly as soon as I walked in. It felt like everything I was looking for in a favorite local bike shop.

First I must disclose that I race for a cycling team that is associated with the shop. I have also been a member of the Louisivlle Velo Club for the past few years. I chose this association though because of the convenience and high quality of service and support I get from the shop. I cannot recommend enough the importance of community oriented bicycle shops. Louisville Cyclery is top notch to meet your cycling needs in the Louisville area. The shop has been around for a very long time so they are experts on the cycling needs of the area (road, mountain, cross, competitive, casual, family). Great staff, product selection, and service.
