Lou Winkler – Kentucky Select Properties

When we started hunting for a home, my husband and I were relatively new both to Louisville and to home ownership. We were fortunate to meet Beth Schilling at Kentucky Select Properties early on in our search, and couldn’t be happier with our decision to work with her as a realtor. Beth is a fantastic resource for information about the Louisville area as well as the in and outs of buying a home. She was also very patient, as we were not in the market to buy a house immediately. Beth is incredibly responsive to questions and concerns, and offers advice without being overbearing. As an example, we called her on a Sunday evening after deciding we wanted to put in an offer on a house – within an hour, she met us at her office (on crutches, no less!) to put together the paperwork for the offer on what is now our home.
We had been warned to be wary of realtors’ recommendations for service professionals (inspectors, electricians, chimney sweeps, etc.) so we did a lot of research about Beth’s recommendations and got second and third opinions in many cases (she encouraged this as well). In the end, we went with her recommendations in almost all cases and were extremely happy with all of them. Even after moving into the home, we still occasionally reach out to Beth for information and suggestions, and she continues to be helpful.
You may end up spending a lot of time with a realtor, which makes his or her personality more important than we had initially anticipated. Beth is a delight to be around, and made the process of buying a home smooth and enjoyable.

I was moving to the Louisville, KY area with my job and decided to view a few homes on my own before I was assigned a Realtor by my relo company. I found a property that I was interested in on
and reached out to the listing agent (Kentucky Select Properties) for a showing. Colleen Walker met me on the property and showed me the home. Though the home was not exactly what I was looking for, I was impressed with Colleen’s knowledge of the area/​schools, different relocation packages, and her ability to listen to what my needs/​wants were. I immediately called my relo company to have her assigned as my agent.
During the home search phase, Colleen was spot on when it came to sharing properties that met both my wife’s and my own requirements. It was not uncommon to receive a late evening email from her asking if we could talk about a hot property that just came on market.
She was very helpful during the entire process. Even after we closed on our home, she would call to check in on us to see how we were settling in. My Home Buying experience was a great one, and I must admit she played a large part in making that so.
