Best little Kroger in town… and I mean little, it’s not a big Gygantic one but it manages to carry a decent selection of food. They have ample parking and the friendliest staff. However don’t expect chef prepared food, or a full service meat counter. Oddly it has a full service seafood counter but not a full service meat counter. My only complaint and why I deduct one star is that they often run out of product in the dairy case. I’ve been there many times when there is no half and half to be found even the expensive stuff is gone. I was told their coolers are smaller in the back and when they remodeled they took the stock area to make the store bigger. This is by far the friendliest krogre in town. The produce department people know what they are doing and they promptly remove the not so fresh produce and fairly mark it down. The produce is always well stocked and presented in a way that it appears to be fresher than the average kroger. The Deli department is another area of the store that needs a little attention. There never seems to be enough people working in this area and the ladies there have to fry chicken and do other things while trying to wait on customers. They are very busy. Checkout is fast and the staff on the front end is where this one sparkles. They are efficent and VERY friendly. Even the people that work late at night are especially friendly. They also have the nice short carts that kids can’t sit in. I love these as I feel like they are cleaner and being disabled I can navigate the store better. This is also the only kroger that I know of that has an anti theft device on their carts that prevents them from being removed from the lot. Other stores that have the kidless carts usually see them disappear… seems like people like to push them home. It’s the small things that make this small kroger special… the ladies that give the kids cookies really get into giving a kid a cookie. Their people here are the best.

Probably the best Kroger in the Southend, as far as I’m concerned. Not sure why. It is a little bit smaller than others, but it carries everything that all of the other Kroger stores carry, with a few exceptions. For example, the Kroger in Hillview has a really decent international food section, which is good for my wife because she is from England. This Kroger doesn’t really have an international section like that. But, it’s not a necessity. One thing though… this Kroger sells Gold Bond body powder. The«new» Kroger on Dixie Highway in Valley Station does not. Go figure. And THAT Kroger is bigger. I don’t know. I prefer the one on Terry Road. It’s smaller, close to my house, I am getting to know the employees, it carries everything I need… It’s the go-to Kroger in Southwest Louisville.
