I really liked this place at first. The pizza was good and fast service. No delivery but it’s fine cause I live close by. If it weren’t for the handful of other times that everything was decent I would have given this place one star. I always have problems ordering online. Today my husband went to pick up a BBQ chicken pizza and came home with something completely different. Not only a different pizza but one that wasn’t cooked all the way through and the veggies were chopped like someone was blindfolded. I doubt I’ll be ordering pizza from this place again. Note to the manager, make sure you hire competent people.

This Hometown pizza is in a great location and a good spot for any occasion for pizza, whether for family/kids, happy hour, late night, or a lunch on the go. The lunch buffet is a great value with a salad bar and pizza bar with multiple pizza and pasta options. The location is also able to accommodate large parties as we had a big lunch meeting for 25 people for work and they were able to keep up with the demand of the group well. In a location that has been many things over the years, seems this one may stick around.

Had the buffet while in town and the pizza was ok. I had meat balls that were cold. When the waitress told the manger she tried them and said they were warm. Angie the waitress took some and put in oven and then the flavor was great. This waitress was the best.

I wanted to try Hometown Pizza as it is super close to home and the building looks very inviting. We ordered take out. Inside I found many TV’s, a nice bar, and a very clean dining room. I glanced at the beers on draft and noticed the basic options plus se craft beer options too. We ordered a medium thin crust meat lovers and a medium buffalo chicken thick crust. I love pizza. I can turn down desert quicker than I can a slice of pizza. This pizza was bad. The buffalo chicken pizza was so salty. The meat lovers was also incredibly salty as well. I’m not saying I will never come back but it will take me a long while for the taste to leave my mouth.

My wife and I went to Hometown Pizza on 1÷14÷15 for a «Wine & Canvas» event. The place was very busy just from the W&C crowd, and the staff was able to keep up pretty well. It did take a little longer than I would normally expect to get our drinks, but overall, we were pretty happy with the place. The only food we ate was the margherita crisp appetizer, which is pretty much a full-size 10″ pizza. It was a good value for $ 6.99, and pretty tasty, but also pretty greasy for a margherita pizza. We may go back in the future to eat there, if we’re in the area. It’s a bit out of the way for us to make a special trip. I only gave it 3-stars because we really didn’t experience the food enough to provide a really good review. The only thing we ate was a solid 3-star item. The service was worth 4-stars. If we do go back, I’ll update this review afterwards.

Though this«Local» restaurant chain has been around for over 30 years, this specific location is relatively new to the Fern Creek area. Many restaurants have come and gone in the past couple of years at this very address so hoping this place succeeds so I have more options close to home. I was having trouble deciding between giving this place a 3 star review and 4 star review. It just seems like such a big difference –more than the jump from 4 to 5 stars. After re-reading my review, I’ve decided to give this place 3 stars. Here’s why… The girlfriend and I enter the restaurant and find a pretty odd layout. You have several tables immediately to your right and then a big open dining room to the left… yet the hostess stand is farther from the main door than those tables. And it’s facing those tables on the right instead of the entrance. If the hostess were to seat you at those tables you saw on your right, you would be walking back towards the just seems so odd. So, the girlfriend and I walk to the hostess stand and tell the hostess we want to place a carryout order. She gives us a menu, we look it over, and we order two pizzas and an order of lasagna. She tells us we can wait at the bar and so we grab some seats at the pretty good size bar area and glance up at some basketball game on the huge screen tv. Now I’m there for my carryout order and perhaps the employee working the bar knows that, but I also know that my order is going to be a while. In the entire 40 minutes that we waited on the order the employee working the bar never asked us if we wanted a drink. They had beer bottles, beer on tap, and other liquor options. Decent selection. And since I knew my order was going to be a while and the employee should certainly know that, I would’ve bought a drink or two to sip on while I waited. But no– they didn’t even try to sell me anything– even a coke– or hell at least offer me a water while I’m in your restaurant. Instead, I enjoyed a good conversation with my girlfriend so not having a drink didn’t bother me too much… but it just baffles me how they didn’t even attempt to sell me something for my long wait. During my wait at the bar, I could see into the kitchen. One thing that stood out in plain view was a microwave. I know there are strong opinions on both sides of this argument and perhaps it’s a bit snobbish, but I don’t like the presence of microwaves in restaurants I order from. So seeing that microwave was a negative. In their defense, I did see a hardworking crew and didn’t see them use the microwave at all during my wait. We got our food and drove home. The pizza was actually really delicious and I loved that they had Ricotta cheese in their pizzas. Because of this I would go back and order from them again and perhaps try their lunch buffet so I could review that as well. But the experience has to improve or I’ll get tired of it. And please– do something about the boring odd décor and layout!
