Great selection of rock n roll, mainly from the 50s thru the 70s with some older and maybe a few newer and some jazz, country, and bluegrass thrown in there. The mint condition Elvis from 1959 was sadly out of my price range, but everything in there seemed in good condition with fair tags. Bill was a cool dude and played me a few of the different records I asked about. I left happy with my finds and hoping to come back next time I’m in town. Cash only, though!

This is a record store for people who want vintage vinyl. You’ll definitely have to dig. I had to leave after three minutes because the proprietor was smoking a cigarette with no windows open, and it’s a tiny, hole-in-the-wall type shop. Maybe bring a painter’s mask?

Highland Records is still kicking, and everything is now 50% off. There are still some nice titles in here, and new things are still getting put out. Remember, cash only.

Some record stores are«record» in name only, but Highland is vinyl and more vinyl and nothing else. Mostly old stuff, and I’m pretty sure it’s all used. Lots of stuff from the 60s and 70s. You probably have a lot better chance of getting Earl Klugh here than Arcade Fire. I think I recall seeing some 8 tracks in the corner, but don’t quote me on that. Priced everywhere from $ 2 to $ 30. You’re likely to leave with something. And your new records might smell of cigarette smoke, but everything here is well labeled and cared for.

Great little record store in Louisville. Very reasonable prices.
