Golden Key International Grocery Store

Did you know we have a Russian grocery store right here in Louisville? Passing by, I thought I was seeing things, curiosity finally made me stop here today to check it out.
It is a small store, more like a convenience mart with a big deli counter. I did not find any exotic produce there. But there are plenty of other things with Cyrillic letters on them: canned soups, seasoning packs, pickles, candies, tea, biscuits… etc. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She offered me samples of different deli meats. They look exotic but they taste very familiar… and better. I got two kinds of Russian bolognas and a couple of Russian hot dogs to start. They also have Russian cheeses, smoked fish and various pickles behind the counter. Hubby and I also got a bunch of snacks and a bag of frozen dumplings with veal filling. They look like large tortellini. I can’t wait to cook them! Hubby felt the need to get a Russian jar of Nutella cuz it is a rarely seen glass jar, ha!
Although the store does not have a large selection of foods, I am giving them 4 stars for the great service. P. S. It is across the street from Petra and Dixie Oriental Market.
