This dynamic course is like nothing I’ve ever done. The feeling of playing in the treetops is unmatched and liberating! It’s a fantastic group activity, as it’s fun seeing how others react to the heights and crossings. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable; they do a great job of ensuring you feel safe upon heading up into the trees. The price is reasonable considering you’re there for 2 – 3 hours! Very highly recommend this course!

I have a paralyzing fear of heights but I’m determined to, if not overcome it, at least make myself go outside of my comfort zone. With all of the safety regulations and having this open to the public, I thought this would be a good starter. I’ve zip-lined in the Mega Cavern and indoor rock climbed at Rock gem. If it’s safe enough for 10 year olds, surely I can suck it up for a few hours. I figured this was the next step. My husband went behind me just in case I lost my nerve and needed a shove off a platform. To my surprise, I didn’t need one! I did scream once going into the second rope swing. Technically, I had the easier option to avoid it but this was a YOLO type of things. While you maneuver the course by yourself, there are always instructors around. My husband, who has virtually no fear of anything, really loved it. Whenever we get stationed somewhere else, I’ll definitely be seeking out another Go Ape adventure! Advice– 1) Think twice about bringing sunglasses. You’re mostly under the trees and the glasses can be a hindrance. In hindsight, I would have left mine behind. 2) You will probably hit the mulch on a slide so ditch the jewelry and expect to get some dirt under your nails. 3) If you bring anything, make sure your pockets either zip, button or Velcro so you don’t have to worry about things sliding out. 4) Double knot your shoelaces! One of our party lost a sneaker and had to wait until someone could climb up and bring her shoe along. 5) You do need some strength. I’m now positive that I need to get back to the gym on a regular basis. Climbing up the nets after the two jungle swings was the toughest part for me. 6) If you are a slow group, offer the faster people to go before you. You will be less frustrated if you don’t have people behind you tapping their feet with impatience. If you are the faster person, either ask to go ahead or ask one of the instructors to ask for you. One person with our group was beyond frustrated as she felt rushed by her daughter and granddaughter. When they(and us) went ahead, she was able to focus more on herself and had a much better time. We were happy not to be stuck behind them. 7) If it’s hot, drink water beforehand. There’s water at the start of each station but you’ll want to start out fully hydrated. 8) If you wear shorts, make sure they extend a few inches below your butt. That’s where the harness will sit. Having shorter shorts means the webbing will be rubbing on your skin. My longer jean shorts were perfect. Anything shorter would have been uncomfortable.

Lookin for an adventure? You’ve found it here! This place is completely awesome, and something like a giant jungle gym for adults. There 5 stations with ziplines at the end of each course. In between there are 3 – 5 obstacles which can be quite challenging: Tarzan swings, random rope courses of various difficulty, ladders, and balancing beams that will present quite the test of your skills. Safety is explained in detail, but you should certainly pay attention during the demonstrations because you will be quite high in the air throughout the day. After awhile you’ll get the hang of it…“always stay attached!”. This was a great time and we certainly will be back! It’s scenic, thrilling, and you get a serious sense of accomplishment upon completion. I soul highly recommend you try this.

This brand new zip line and obstacle course is located high above Jefferson Memorial Forest. It’s intense fun for 2 – 3 hours that will test your fear of heights and teach you a lesson in balancing. You’ll go through 5 different sections, each gets progressively harder and longer. Separated by a short walk, each section consists of: 1) An ascend on a rope ladder to a platform 2) Several rope crossings, varying in difficulty, lengths and types 3) A descend via zip line. You can go at your own pace and completely unsupervised. After the training(around 45 minutes), the staff can be seen periodically throughout, but the entire course is your adult jungle gym playground. Go through it as quickly or as slowly as you like. The price is a bit steep at $ 57/person but I think it’s definitely worth the money. I would not recommend this for those with an intense fear of height. But if you have a normal reasonable fear, you’ll have fun. Your fear will be challenged, which is part of the fun. Just keep in mind that you’re always attached and secured to a rope. The only part that had me screaming was the last Tarzan swing. It’s suitable for those with a low to moderate fitness level.
